Canceling concerts? Yes, it's disappointing, but it's not life altering. Life happens. To all of us. If someone wants to take a month off because a loved one died, I'm sure not going to question it. If someone else only wants a week, more power to 'em. We're all human.

Aerosmith's original fan base is made up of now-soccer moms. It's smart business to keep your 'current customers' happy as opposed to developing a whole set of new ones.

Or refusing to play certain cities because of unfair stereotypes given to the people who live there. Bands who release repackaged versions of albums just to milk more money if those albums become popular again. Bands who act like ***** when you meet them. As for changing material, if the band truly believes in what their doing, fans have no right to say anything. If you want to go along for the ride, then go along, buy the albums you like. You can't force them to make the music you like. It seems more and more fans feel that musicians "owe" them something, and less and less people actually pay for the music

EVERYTHING about metallica in the past 13 years should put any fan of music in a fit of rage. They took advantage of all the little shady tricks of getting wide attention, and then tried to clamp down on it to the detriment of every other up and coming band.
Ideologically, they are everything that's wrong with music now a days. They were this really great band back in the day, and they don't have enough dignity to retire into their legend--instead they slap on some makeup, hire some idiot to write a few power ballads and suck up to the movie industry to make sure they get on a few soundtracks and continue to grind out music long after their peak.
