- Jyaif, on 11/06/2007, -2/+29I don't think this is comparable to last.fm. With this website, you chose the music you will listen to. It's basically an on-line iTune.
- nlschd, on 10/11/2007, -2/+22How is this site still up ?
I'm listening to copyrighted music uploaded by a user to a website that allows me to pick and choose which copyrighted songs I want to listen to . Therefore, the end user controls access to the exact music they want to listen to, while the company streaming doesn't have a contract with the producers to broadcast in this manner. - inobla, on 11/06/2007, -2/+15***** this is awesome. I wonder how long until the RIAA jackasses get it shut down.
- msaleem, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12@webtech: What do you mean by source? The link has nothing to do with this submission. Also, the correct link, which I found from google searching for this service has next to no content.
- the_d, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11This is an app that just scrapes RadioBlogClub.com.
I built something very similar to this a couple of years ago, and I was threatened by RadioBlogClub. But that wasn't before it got over 2000 diggs...
But good luck to whoever built this. - jamend, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11Oh man, the audio quality really sucks :(
- titlesaysitall, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10msaleem is right, your "source" is totally irrelevant. Your source is more like you spamming your Blog on every story.
- Scarfy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9It's a good thing we know this is the awesome one.
- Sabretou, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8This is really good. Great to listen to entire songs and stuff. Dunno how it's legal, though.
- crazman724, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8then get firefox for your mac. thats what i use and it works perfectly, except that the sound quality is terrible (but that is the same for everyone.)
- Bossy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8it's different, did you even visit the site? It does allow you to listen to the song of your choice.
- avenu420, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7maybe the site has taste.
- ohthehumanity, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Yeah i'm a little curious where the music comes from, and how long will it take for this site to go down. I don't see a way for members to upload so it must be coming from somewhere else. I'm also curious about why so many songs say 0 for time, some of them work some don't.
- kidcodea, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4still miss my pandora radio...
- LanceHardenburg, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5No 311... therefore this website gets a thumbs down from me.
- avenu420, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Wait....it doesn't have The Carpenters either. I withdraw my last comment. =)
- amfr, on 10/11/2007, -5/+8Does not work in Safari
- nlschd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2 I'm not saying that I don't like the site in general . I mean with this site I no longer have to worry about the illegality of downloading pirated music because now that responsibility goes to some company located in France, where there is much less piracy crackdown ( I have found almost every song in my library on this site....)
But that doesn't make the site itself legally sound. - SIN2000, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2hmmm does it have a ripper like winamp? (streamripper)
- nlschd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I answer my own question . It looks like this site will be lasting for quite a long time . The admin's response means they will be in the legal gray area, and will be very difficult to shut down . Look Below.
"How is this site going to stay up if it is hosted in the West?.....
Legally speaking , it is possible for a user to host content he owns on his own server for visitors of his site, if this is for personal use ( vague area in copyright legislations) . Therefore it would probably be legal to have a content delivery system that attaches itself to other personal users music streaming servers and delivers via their streaming servers...."

"The bot browses servers and indexes each music file (a lot of them contains some rbs files but the bot supports any format since the file contains music information) "
---(this means that they aren't streaming music from their own servers and are instead doing what is suggested above)
Onur
Spool Admin - TexanPsycho, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Source? It goes to Spool.fm - the site.
- nicksoni, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I guess the site is still pretty new, so there is not the largest amount of content, and the audio quality is okay. Still, good enough to stream some music while in class or at the computer lab, or just one of those days you are sick of listening to My Humps on repeat. =p
- Hybride, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2BlogMusik rip off. It's OKAY.
- vrikis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I thought the same at first but yeah it is sort of more like iTunes. I like last.fm since it has the whole social network aspect to it, but this if I just want to listen to something specific.
- reichec, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Song selection sucks my left nut. I typed in a few of my favorite groups and came up EMPTY.
- vrikis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2dude doesn't he pay like a couple of cents for each streamed song since it's an online radio?
- EviLiu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Went there, and Tool was a random artist on the front page. That was cool. I started a song, and the quality is not up to par for serious listening. Too bad.
- Necmi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Indeed, all browsers do not support JavaScript...
... if you live in 1997 - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2yes it varies due to the wild wild web, but I can usually find just about anything and lots of obscure stuff too
- ajimmykid, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2reminds me of www.blogmusik.net
- kelyar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1in my opera preloader still says "spool.fm is loading"
i pressed escape and can see site in background
but this div is still up.
wtf? - eTron, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Just use imeem.com
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2hmmm, there's a lot more content and search results at
http://www.seeqpod.com - Protoss, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Wow...must have a small library. I searched for The Shins (well duh, its only my avatar...) and didn't even get a full album, just songs here and there.
- tuxidomasx, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2you've obviously never heard of radioblogclub.com or imeem.com
they beat this site to the punch by way over a year - syafthegeek, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This is a great alternative to Last.fm. Pandora has blocked me from listening songs and playlist through their site. Damn those RIAA.
- mattmollysdad, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2thanks
- damndj, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1This site is full of fail.
- Ransomowris, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Killing, or killer?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1you can't embed the playlist either, back to seeqpod
- canadiense, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1This thing doesn't "drag & drop" when using the latest version of FireFox on Vista ...

- xenoploid, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1loading.......loading..........loading.........ctrl+w
- topbob, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Um does the quality get better if I register or what, cause right now it sounds like 96kBps MP3 or less...
- hasansexy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0OK by now we all know that everyone wants to know how this is legal and how long it will take for the site to be taken down.
- NicePaul, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Badly implemented AJAX - the site breaks completely if you don't have javascript turned on. AJAX should always be used with progressive enhancement, so that it works for everybody: http://adactio.com/journal/959
- kingkilr, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3I hate to plug myself, I am working on something sort of similar to this, I can't wait to share it with the digg community, and yes this will probably get shutdown due to licensing(working on that myself and it is a PITA).
- pzabicki, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0i dugg it, but after i read comments and found seeqpod, i must say the second has much greater resources (including otomo but only two tracks, so my HDD still is wining in this matter).
- fLUx1337, on 10/11/2007, -7/+5Yes, very nice, but the server is hosting 1000's of copyrighted tracks?!
The creator is a dumbass if he thinks its OK.... lmao -
