- Gu_Man, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree this looks cool. Still not sure I like it taking my remote plug. The old one was a piece of crap. It was horrible difficult to get those 10,000 frequencies loaded and then try to use them. Returned it in 3 days.
- TeChGuRL19, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very Cool! Looks like the Airplay...about time they did this!
- Bluezdood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Am I the only one that has a problem with this thing? The whole point of m4a/mp3 technology was to improve or maintain sound quality while reducing size. By broadcasting on FM radio waves, you are losing a TON of fidelity/sound quality, at least to my ears. You might as well be listening to ADPCM. I will not buy one of these, I'll stick to the good old cassette adapter. At least I won't be losing as much in transit.
- jamester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I used the default frequency with the old one and 98% of the time it worked great. However, the construction on the old one just wasn't all that good, imho. (Or maybe I'm rough with accessories...) It ended up breaking apart and dying a slow death.
I now use a cassette adaptor and never have to worry about frequencies. Works like a charm. The wires are a bit much, but oh well.... :) - jamester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0As for quality, I tend to imagine that the iTrip is not something meant to be used 100% of your iPod's usage... more of a convenience-when-in-the-car type thing. The headphones are for quality, or the bose soundthingie.
- emurillo510, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0where does this thing connect? is it a headphone i dont understand lol
check out my blog http://eltonm.blogspot.com - jonecat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0He must live in the middle of nowhere. I bought one and took it back the next day, in Phoenix these things are almost unusable. My wife has a transpod and it works 10X better. I just decided to go back to a tape adapter.
- andyzweb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just ordered mine as we speak i love my current iTrip but i always wanted annother for my other iPod. Plus my compulsive Buying made me have to buy it :P
- FunkyGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0does anyone know if this can work with regular CD players? People that actually know, not just assume. I really want this to work with regular CD players so I can hack it, but I dont want an ipod, and I havent heard of any hacks with the belkin tunecast.
- sleepless, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I personally would get this thing:

It can play mp3 from a USB stick, you can charge your Ipod mini through the usb interface and listen through the audio input, and it's only 30 bucks.
And if you are really hardcore, you can mod it so that you boost the gain on the antennae so you can really podcast on the go:

Pretty sweet.... I tried the signal boost and it works pretty cool :-D Though I don't think I got a wire as long as his so mine didn't get the 400 ft range.. haha - HAKdragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"where does this thing connect? is it a headphone i dont understand lol"
It plugs into the Headphone and Remote Control ports - radar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Darn, I just bought an iTrip for my mini last week. If I had known these were coming I would have waited. Changing the station by playing a sound clip is really annoying.
- agent_smith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Too bad all FM transcievers suck my balls. The iTrip in particular sucks...the thing clips horribly at just about any setting on both the higher end of frequencies and lower end. On my brand new 350z...come on now...I'm sure the antenna can get plenty of reception, but unless I am basically using my body as a secondary antenna (i.e. holding the thing in my hand) the iTrip sucks.
- minox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What sucked about the old one was reception. Even after hacking it open and making the antenna external, you still have to contort your body to get a decent signal. If you have an antenna embedded in your car window, just forget about it. The problem with the iTrip is that it isn't powerful enough. Ideally you need a cassette adapter or something that draws power off the cigarette lighter. The old iTrip would kill my battery really quickly. I can't wait to see what this one does.
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cool. The currently iTrip I have now works, so until that breaks, I'll keep it :3

Where do you find one of these?
