- ers35, on 07/02/2009, -5/+103That is nothing compared to the increase in OxiClean sales.
- seastobble, on 07/02/2009, -3/+62 it's almost like people liked him at some point in time.
- DjOverEZ, on 07/02/2009, -3/+40Guilty.
- AbominableHoman, on 07/02/2009, -3/+35Guilty.
- appleseed1234, on 07/02/2009, -3/+30A real tragedy, brought down by a combination of ***** parents and sensationalist media in his prime, only to die before he could ever redeem himself, and his parents and the media manage to bank on it. What a shame.
- vaguilera, on 07/02/2009, -5/+32BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!
- GoalieStr1, on 07/02/2009, -0/+26Thriller sold over 100 million albums. He may have a legacy like the Beatles and Elvis but your statement only serves as a cliche. He's not Vincent Van Gough, he was more popular than life even when he was alive and kicking.
- bpwrinn, on 07/02/2009, -7/+32count me in as a sellout:
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a171/DenethorM/D ... - XnonX, on 07/02/2009, -6/+29Michael Jackson was a true musical icon. His music will continue to live on for many generations to come...
- dafragsta, on 07/02/2009, -1/+21a-tracks? I think you are talking about 8 tracks, and they didn't play in walkmans. Walkmans played cassettes. Damn kids. Get off my lawn.
- LemurDaddy, on 07/02/2009, -2/+22Well, it's good for his creditors, and good for the kids. I guess the only downside is having to hear about MJ on every frickin' news channel for the rest of the week. And the next, probably.
- kaesong, on 07/02/2009, -2/+18Despite what you can say about him, he's the only artist that transcends all genres of music. All forms of music appreciate and respect what he's done.
Also, he may be the last musician we may see that reached global influence by talent. Music, now-a-days are a product of a corporate machine. Now it seems it's the same machine that killed him.
Do you realize how poorly media was doing and how his death threw them off-guard.
I also forgot the hits he has made.
I'm rambling at this point. - lcworld, on 07/02/2009, -3/+19I listened to MJ's hits again and once again realize... how great they sound! And how much memories they bring....
- Black6x, on 07/02/2009, -1/+17It's probably since they have started playing his music on the radio again. My drive to work has been filled with the same crap songs on the radio for 4 months. The reintroduction of his music to society/radio was the only positive thing that has come out of his death.
- seastobble, on 07/02/2009, -6/+22he made thriller. THRILLER.
RIP Chappelle Show - MetalliTooL, on 07/02/2009, -1/+15I've been youtubing his songs for the past few days, remembering some of his tunes that I've completely forgot existed. And, I gotta say, he was awesome. (And I'm a metalhead.)
- JonTheGoose, on 07/02/2009, -1/+14Yea, He's chillin' with Elvis, Tupac and The Sasquatch.
- Flyguy1ca, on 07/02/2009, -1/+13Somewhere Michael Jackson says "shamone.........eeeeee heeee" *crotch grab*
- KSUdesigner, on 07/02/2009, -0/+11Just wait until all the public memorial services get underway. You think it's bad now, you haven't seen anything yet.
- ghostrc, on 07/02/2009, -0/+11He would say "ABSOLUTELY FREE"
- canudiggit123, on 07/02/2009, -0/+10Do realize that he not only 1) Sold the most albums in history and 2) Is ***** dead?
- DreamVsPs2, on 07/02/2009, -6/+15RIP Michael
- DeviantDragon, on 07/02/2009, -0/+9Are you 15 or something?
- MetalliTooL, on 07/02/2009, -0/+9Heh, touche.
But yeah, it was pop music, but for the most part it was epic, beautifully constructed and produced pop music; not formulaic and predictable Britney Spears type of pop. A fan of any music should be able to appreciate that. - BoneStamp, on 07/02/2009, -0/+9Chewbacca defense
- TheBifman, on 07/02/2009, -0/+9You're getting dugg down for being talented.
- cowsgonemadd3, on 07/02/2009, -0/+8IF YOU CALL NOW WE WILL THROW IN NOT ONE NOT TWO BUT THREE MORE FOR FREE!
- ivan423, on 07/02/2009, -2/+10It's close to midnight and something evil's lurking in the dark
- imronburgundy83, on 07/02/2009, -0/+7"You know how I know you're gay?"
- KSUdesigner, on 07/02/2009, -3/+10Never proven, dude. Suspicious, yes, but we have no solid proof.
- Klinky, on 07/02/2009, -0/+7Yep, it's pretty impressive when your father is so grief-stricken he has to tell everyone he's doing fine and to buy the Blu-ray discs he's producing of his dead son.
- solvable, on 07/02/2009, -0/+7I would of never guessed you were a metalheal, MetalliTooL.
- staystilljason, on 07/02/2009, -1/+8Acquitted
- Dugglous, on 07/02/2009, -1/+8He's dead....he doesn't need money anymore.
- commenter01, on 07/02/2009, -0/+6Gogh
- grandinferno, on 07/02/2009, -1/+7Read this *****: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1614815/20090626/ ...
"Jackson sold more than 750 million records worldwide. He notched eight platinum or multiplatinum albums and 13 #1 singles, and had 47 tracks crack the Billboard Hot 100. He won 13 Grammy Awards, was inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (as a member of the Jackson 5 and as a solo artist) and received the American Music Awards' Artist of the Century Award. His 1982 album, Thriller, is the biggest-selling original album of all time (it has been neck-and-neck with the Eagles' Greatest Hits collection for several years). The "Guinness Book of World Records" cites the singer as the Most Successful Entertainer of All Time. " - aaronbustillos, on 07/02/2009, -0/+6if only you could realize how stupid that sounded
- AngustheCat, on 07/02/2009, -0/+6Never proven. Plus there was serious doubt cast on both the allegations and the people who brought the charges forward (both times). But I guess none of that will ever matter in the court of public opinion and to people like you.
- DBreeze, on 07/02/2009, -1/+7Too bad Coldplay will never hit 750 million album sales.
- KSUdesigner, on 07/02/2009, -2/+7Hundreds of people that hardly anybody knows, whereas MJ was known by just about every person walking this earth. I'm not saying they shouldn't pay attention to the other things going on in the world, but one of the most famous (and one of the most odd) people in the world dies they are naturally going to spend a lot of time covering it.
- imronburgundy83, on 07/02/2009, -0/+5Or weird for drawing pictures of dudes that look like chicks' faces
- solvable, on 07/02/2009, -1/+6It's not like you have to read it or take the time out of your day to comment on it.
- TheBifman, on 07/02/2009, -0/+5Or, you know, since he had a permanent impact on music
- jongos, on 07/02/2009, -0/+4Moliver, you clearly understand the flaw in your own logic. Otherwise you would have named every single person that named on that flight, their occupations, and contribution to the world. You can't do that with them, but you can just mention MJ's name and all that's implied, because you and the rest of the world know his impact on the world (whether you liked him or not).
It's not about the worth of any of their lives (that part is equal IMHO) but one happens to be one of the most famous people who ever walked the face of the earth. If not, then at the very least in ours and our parent's lifetimes. - fanfablebig, on 07/02/2009, -1/+5$397,400,000 left to go.
- imronburgundy83, on 07/02/2009, -0/+4Hilarious!
- grandinferno, on 07/02/2009, -0/+4***** you fail bad gothic. I don't even know why these people bothered responding to your idiocy...
Unless...
...***** it. I call troll. It HAS to be. Nobody is that stupid. - grandinferno, on 07/02/2009, -0/+4No. He's a samplers dream (see Digg post re Jackson sampling from today).
- Csaliture, on 07/02/2009, -0/+4Yeah they sold that many copies in their albums first week. Jackson hasn't had a major album release in nearly 10 years. How many albums or songs do you think coldplay sold last week. 10,000? 20,000? I guarantee its nowhere close to 2 million.
