- MatthewDuke, on 10/02/2008, -2/+30I'm so excited for America to elect its first half-white president!
- Rubab, on 10/02/2008, -14/+36Obama is really popular.. am sure he will be next president..
- Barackalypse, on 10/02/2008, -9/+28I bet if it Obama wasn't black he wouldn't be involved, because frankly given Obama's voting record he isn't anything unique over other liberal Democrats in the past that never got concerts.
- mehan, on 10/02/2008, -5/+21I'm going to vote for Obama because my and Jay-Z's interests align 100 ***** %.
/s - iSeven, on 10/02/2008, -4/+19... hit me
- playuhh, on 10/02/2008, -1/+15*power chord* !
- b9gh47q, on 10/02/2008, -16/+28Awesome, yet another reason I'd love to be in Miami right now.
- jax1492, on 10/02/2008, -10/+22Nothing like having a former drug dealer supporting your campaign.
- mattcarreiro, on 10/02/2008, -3/+14i don't know about jay-z in particular but in 2004 sean "p. diddy" combs put a huge effort into registering voters with the vote or die, and there was no black candidate.
- s0m31john, on 10/02/2008, -16/+27I can't imagine why HE would be an Obama supporter.
/s - mattcarreiro, on 10/02/2008, -0/+11i think your dad just hates your mom
- DavidGuetta9, on 10/02/2008, -1/+11how is that related to the article?
- unitedkronos, on 10/02/2008, -3/+13American politics is much more interesting than British politics, we never see any musicians play gigs for our stuck-up toff politicians.
- vitaminz1990, on 10/02/2008, -6/+15That's because it's true. All these rappers and ***** support Obama because he's black. They just want to see a black president in the white house. I doubt they know ***** about his politics
- Clbull, on 10/02/2008, -1/+10I hope so
- Barackalypse, on 10/02/2008, -4/+12He's probably thinking that Jay-Z is only doing this because of Obama's race.
- mattcarreiro, on 10/02/2008, -0/+8i can't think of one reason i would ever want to be in miami besides bikinis
- masterkenobi, on 10/02/2008, -4/+12I'm waiting for the douchebag unfunny joke made by a Republican digger that's borderline racist.
- macattak420, on 10/02/2008, -3/+10"Jay-Z + Obama = Party in Bayfront"
pretty much sums it up - teethandeyes, on 10/02/2008, -5/+11He is also rockin' Detroit this Saturday.
Cobo Hall baby!
Yet another time I find myself missing the lovely city of Detroit.
Knowing how Detroiters get down, the show at Cobo is going to be totally off-the-chain. - MatthewDuke, on 10/02/2008, -1/+7I don't mean to be racist, but I don't like black people based solely on their skin color.
- AdeleMor, on 10/02/2008, -7/+12I hope he and Beyonce come out dressed as Michelle and Barack, Gnarls Barkely-style!
- petebot, on 10/02/2008, -2/+7Nice. Jay-Z is not your stereotypical ignorant rapper. He owns a multimillion dollar media empire. He's a smart businessman and person in general.
- derble, on 10/02/2008, -2/+7Got some dirt on your shoulder?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yel8IjOAdSc - pintomp3, on 10/02/2008, -3/+8are you referring to big pharma or the CIA? oh, drug dealing is only bad when black people do it.
- nybe, on 10/03/2008, -0/+5more wingnut reactionary dribble... sure does get boring.
- Barackalypse, on 10/02/2008, -2/+7Fire up the Halliburton Hurricane machine, we've got another reason to wipe Miami off the map!
- Arrowette, on 10/02/2008, -1/+5@lograno: Actually, yes. Artists of any type are just overwhelmingly more likely to be liberal. If you tabulate all of the actors, musicians, comedians, and fiction writers who support Obama/any other Democrat, and then tabulate all of the same categories who support McCain/any other Republican, your first list will be at least ten times longer than your second.
That's just a typical feature of creative people. There are exceptions, like Charlton Heston, Dennis Miller, and David Lynch, but it's not very common. - RichardSwingman, on 10/02/2008, -3/+7yeah i think jay-z's opinion on politics is not really what people need right now.
- g0tistt0t, on 10/02/2008, -0/+4yeah, cuz you know how much more jay-z did for music, and jay-z of course influenced an entire era and had legions of followers that followed them from show to show, oh wait he didnt... looks like you're just plain wrong
- Louis11, on 10/02/2008, -1/+5Obama is black.
- charm803, on 10/02/2008, -2/+6Jay Z is a smart business man.
McCain, on the other hand, was ENDORSED by Daddy Yankee, the fool of fools. - JRW5061, on 10/03/2008, -0/+4I wish that was the case but there are a TON of brainwashed dumb asses in this country, like my dad unfortunately, who will vote for McCain simply because he is on the republican ticket. I've tried talking sense into him but he defies all logic. He actually said to me "You can't let the VP choice affect who your going to vote for". ***** crazy talk. It seems like a no brainer that Obama will win for people who have done their home work so you may think that its not important to cast your vote. We need to make sure all of the Obama supporters on Digg get out and vote in this election. It is so important. The thought of McCain and Palin in the white house terrifies me. Lets not let it happen!
/end rant - afx1, on 10/03/2008, -0/+4i just can't see you in one, sorry
- charm803, on 10/02/2008, -1/+4Like, remember the time, that like, McCain was ENDORSED (not supported, but like, endorsed) by the fool of fools Daddy Yankee?
At least Jay Z has a career and is a business man.
Daddy Yankee is a failed rapper has been. - pintomp3, on 10/02/2008, -1/+4are you kidding? back in the jim crow days they went to the polls despite threats of violence. they still go despite voter purging and disproportionately long lines.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/26/opinion/26tue4.h ...
"In the majority of states, however, too little is being done to make sure that polling places can accommodate all of the voters who show up. That is a mistake. An election in which people have to wait 10 hours to vote, or in which black voters wait in the rain for hours, while white voters zip through polling places, is unworthy of the world’s leading democracy." - g0tistt0t, on 10/02/2008, -0/+3umm.. because grateful dead also put on a benefit concert for obama...
- Dundasbro, on 10/02/2008, -1/+4I know I do.
- Barackalypse, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2Considering Limbaugh has Walter Williams (a black man) host his show on occasion, I think you can safely assume race isn't his reason for supporting McCain.
- CuriousJohnson, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2Buy this man some tinfoil asap.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2Wow, what a lot of buried, rare, YOUTUBE VIDEOS! How was the NWO not raided your place yet?
- MatthewDuke, on 10/02/2008, -3/+5Jay-Z sells cocaine
Barry Obama likes cocaine
makes sense - powermonay, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2Same here, Palin and Biden. I didn't even know about Canadian debate..lol
(Canadian) - playuhh, on 10/02/2008, -3/+5Because some rich people have strong roots. More likely someone that makes hiphop music than somebody who simply runs a profitable corporation.
Not everyone who comes up from poverty/middle class to financial freedom will go republican. - charm803, on 10/02/2008, -1/+3He's REGISTERING PEOPLE to VOTE.
Yes, he supports Obama, but the point is to register them to vote. - lfroker, on 10/02/2008, -2/+4Cool... if i lived in Florida... which wouldn't be cool
- zombiedepot, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2I thought he was going to support McCain.
- threat42, on 10/02/2008, -1/+3AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
