- lpalm10, on 06/23/2008, -1/+5this album is on repeat. i love a good mashup.
- hollywoodphony, on 06/23/2008, -0/+12Much better than Kid Rock's Sweet Home Alabama/Werewolves of London mash-up.
- jetcom, on 06/23/2008, -9/+2Definitely gives Girl Talk a run for his money.
- gabrielbeug, on 06/24/2008, -1/+9You're joking, right?
- chawkie, on 06/24/2008, -0/+2Yeah I don't know about that. Feed the Animals runs circles around this.
- HappyScrappy, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1Enough with this spamming and now commenting to plug your own stuff.
- BetterOffEd, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1I really hope you're high right now.
- rjc5056, on 06/23/2008, -0/+11As ridiculous as the album names sound, if you can find and torrent the "Best of Bootie" 2005, 2006, and 2007 albums, you will be treated to a compilation of some of the best mash-ups to ever grace your ears. Just trust me and go out on a limb with these.
- badwithcomputer, on 06/23/2008, -0/+2Bootie ftw! Those are all really excellent compilations. All the mashups are the straightforward 1 vs. 1 type of thing, but it's very well done and a lot of fun to listen to.
LA people should check out: http://bootiela.com/
San Francisco people should check out: http://bootiesf.com
I'll definitely be at the one in LA in a few weeks. First one they've had since I turned 21 and can finally go! - Unclickable, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1http://bootieusa.com/bestofbootie2007/

- VidDigger, on 06/24/2008, -1/+9Wow- a top Digg user playing at Coachella 09? If Dorritos girl can get time at the super bowl, we can make this happen!
- fudged71, on 06/24/2008, -1/+7AAAAAAH... _FINALLY_ the face of badwithcomputer :D
gratz on the interview. Love the music - fudged71, on 06/24/2008, -0/+5The wiki idea is a good one... it's always good to know the bits and pieces in a compilation.
But your skill shouldn't be costing you more than you make. The website could use some work, and I think you should definitely have a donation option; either a simple paypal, or a cheeky "buy me a beer" :)
Always great to see a digger with skills.
What program are you at in school?- badwithcomputer, on 06/24/2008, -0/+4I thought about a donations option, but just don't know the legal ramifications of profiting off of something like this. Thanks for taking the time to check it out and show enthusiasm! I'm a media studies major.
- fudged71, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1understandable. well... keep it up. great music

- tkeeley, on 06/24/2008, -4/+2crazy
- AKskywalker, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1Please make that song wiki and post a link! I'd love to see what tracks you're using
- Morshade, on 06/24/2008, -3/+1Wow... Nuke
- Surferess, on 06/24/2008, -2/+4FTA "Boni: What exactly is the legality of sampling all of these artists’ work? I’m assuming you didn’t ask each one for permission.
Dashiell: Yeah I have no idea, to be honest. I know I’m not making any money but it’s probably some gray area."
Gee, you would think this would be kind of important.- verevi, on 06/24/2008, -1/+9It shouldn't be in a creative and interesting society.
- sanctify99, on 06/24/2008, -7/+3car stereo wars > girl talk > audiobytes
- fudged71, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1I had to check for a second to see if you were that PS3 fanboy !
your symbols are the wrong way around
- fudged71, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1I had to check for a second to see if you were that PS3 fanboy !
- HandsomeRuss, on 06/24/2008, -3/+1ot ftw
- tientruong, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1I thought this had something to do with the transformers movie.
but cool nonetheless - inhaler, on 06/24/2008, -0/+4When I started reading the article, I knew the name sounded familiar. Dashiell Driscoll is also the founder of the masculinist coalition at Pitzer.
We've seen that group pop up a few times previously on digg. I'm surprised he doesn't mention it in the article.
http://masculinists.org/updates/030708.html- badwithcomputer, on 06/24/2008, -0/+8a lot of people at pitzer accused me of using the masculinist co. to somehow further my whole audiobytes project and i didn't want to prove them right. didn't seem totally relevant, but thanks for remembering! we'll be back in a big way in september.
- fusen, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1haha, had no idea you were the same person, when I read Pitzer in the interview my first thought was "weird, that's where that masculine setup was from, odd to have two big digg things out of such a small place" :P

- YURGAY, on 06/24/2008, -5/+1i bet he plays CRYSIS!
- threefiveo125go, on 06/24/2008, -2/+2Gregg Gillis is the master of his craft, no one can touch him. Much more respect for someone who quits their day job as an engineer to pursue music. I gave audiobytes a few good listens and the mix is very choppy. He tends to mix tracks without considering pitch. Too much repetition in his beats too.
- rocketoner, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1Why say Gregg Gillis, and not just simply Girl Talk? Don't be 'that guy'.
- justice7, on 06/24/2008, -3/+4let me be the first to say
what the *****? - allisonaxe, on 06/24/2008, -6/+1Audiobytes for autobots isn't the best mashup project out there. there's only a few songs in the list that mix well... i will admit that I particularly like the 143 chp which mixes the jackson 5's "ABC" with NWA's "***** da Police," but most of the other tracks sort of fail.
you want better mashups, try out Q-unit http://www.coletrain.org/qunit/ (which is a mashup album of Queen and 50-cent) or RIAA's "Sounds for the Space Set" http://www.m-1.us/spaceset.html which mashes tons of random junk together for a very trippy retro-future sound.- allisonaxe, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1why am i getting buried, exactly?
- Scottievm, on 06/24/2008, -1/+3143 chp is so good.
- Ugoff, on 06/24/2008, -3/+3Isn't this guy a goon? I guess finally a story about goons that doesn't involve murders.
- badwithcomputer, on 06/24/2008, -0/+4this guy most certainly is not. no somethingawful account. no time ever spent on 4chan. seriously. not that there's anything wrong with that...
- ghuytro, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1FNM vs. Queen vs. AC/DC!!!
Too good!! - ismschisms, on 06/24/2008, -1/+3I can appreciate the creativity used to make his music, but I've got to ask, is this guy ***** tone deaf? It's called a key, Mr Bot. Pick one.
- jayscot, on 06/24/2008, -0/+3It's Ross...working on his "Sound".
- leerayIG88, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1Autobots Roll OUT!
- FDisk, on 06/24/2008, -1/+2Track 11 FTW !!!
- ikedajd, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1Girl Talk (aka Gregg Gillis) is a much better mash-up artist...not saying Audiobytes for Autobots 2.0 isn't good...just not as good as Girl Talk's latest CD "Feed the Animals"...
- t0sh, on 06/24/2008, -0/+0Certainly a lot tighter than his last album. I'm not normally one to slam people's efforts, but the last one was a mess apart from the NWA track - I can understand errors when you are doing this live, but not when you have all the time in the world to play around with it on a laptop. He still needs to learn not to try to fit 15 samples in each track though.
However, I particularly enjoyed track 4, which was quite cleverly put together. - neonlimbs, on 06/24/2008, -1/+1No, this is one of the worst mash-up artists I have ever heard. Girl talk walks all over this guy. If you want good indie VS main stream hip hop mash ups go to www.thehoodinternet.com

- oishiitoriniku, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1Is everyone in agreement that mashups are awesome? I tend to not like them.
It seems like many are put together by people with no knowledge of musical theory.- kwirk, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1Mashups are all right, they're just a little played out at this point. They were better 4 or 5 years ago when they were new and exciting. Now the whole mashup genre is rife with chiche.
- oishiitoriniku, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1The other thing that gets me is that these people are referred to as artists. It seems like anybody with the technical know-how could make these. Is everyone an artist these days?

- Tickitata, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1Anyone hear E-603?
My favorite mash-up artist around. Audiobytes for Audiobots is still pretty fun, though - palmer, on 06/24/2008, -2/+2"who has opened for artists such as Dead Prez and the RZA"
Wow, what world-beating credentials. - BetterOffEd, on 06/24/2008, -1/+1In general, the comments here are *****' terrible....
"Love it!"
"Good stuff."
"Great songs!"
"Neat article."
Wow... - OtterStratton, on 06/24/2008, -0/+2Try Milkman:

Better than Audiobytes IMO - HanSolo69, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1Are all of his answers in this interview exactly the same, kind of like every how every song on his album sounds exactly the same, poor production values included?
- omgdspmpg, on 06/24/2008, -1/+3mashups are soo 2002
