- jakash, on 02/19/2009, -2/+30I love the way Vimeo boldly announces: 'HD IS ON'
- Torx, on 02/19/2009, -0/+26I do like that. Soulful Brass.
- hfxadv, on 02/19/2009, -0/+21KEEP THE SWEET TUNES COMING ON THE FRONT PAGE!!!!
- rentmitchum, on 02/19/2009, -3/+20I haven't seen anything on digg from vimeo since that Radiohead played on spare parts thing. This made me remember that. I loved that.. The real submission is ok too.
http://www.vimeo.com/1109226
I especially liked it because I think Kevin Rose had the first comment, and he repeated what was in the submission's description, so everyone buried him. I found that hilarious. We were all so excited to bury Kevin Rose.. That brings back good memories, it was one of the first things I found on digg that made me say "wow, if I didn't use digg, I'd never have seen this.." and I was hooked on coming here.
Just thought I'd share.. Might not have a lot to do with this submission, but I'm just feeling good about digg when I see neat stuff like this and that and all sorts of other good *****. - Metalcard, on 02/19/2009, -0/+10Great music, I could listen to them all day.
- L3mur3n, on 02/19/2009, -2/+11Sweet tunes, and really good video editing.
- Dennisisok, on 02/19/2009, -0/+8Awesome.
- soulpunisher, on 02/19/2009, -0/+7That started my day off nicely thanks for that vid. Those guys are pretty good btw I liked it alot
- dazparkour, on 02/19/2009, -0/+7That's what it says, you were just told to believe otherwise.
- IphtashuFitz, on 02/19/2009, -1/+8I first read the headline as "Hypnotoad Underground"...
- jazgold, on 02/19/2009, -1/+7
and that would have been really boring. - voyetra8, on 02/19/2009, -1/+6Even better video of HBE by same videographer, (IMO): http://www.vimeo.com/1418890
- Xplorer, on 02/19/2009, -0/+5Great video, great song!
- Retrokid, on 02/19/2009, -1/+6Dugg for Samuel L. Jackson...
- Volatile36, on 02/19/2009, -0/+4ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!!!!!!!!!
- krewenki, on 02/19/2009, -0/+4This made my day. I bought both of their albums after seeing the video.
- thorstrongstone, on 02/19/2009, -0/+4This is one of the many, many reasons I love New York. Get on the train, there is a Mariachi Band playing for the late night, drunken riders(only pay if they are any damn good;) get off the train, and find a range of live music in the stations.
***** the haters. I'd take the sounds of a brass band or jazz over the hacking coughs of the hundreds of sick travelers any day of the week.
Also, if you are playing an instrument or doing something cool, rather than just asking me for change, I will probably search my pockets. Unless you are playing Jimmy Buffet........then I'll punch you. - SLYK, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Totally, it made me go look see if TPB had anything.
If I wind up really liking it, I'll totally buy their stuff. Because Jazz is just that damn cool. - inactive, on 02/19/2009, -0/+3Actually their style is more reminiscent of Hip Hop although I can hear bits of Jazz. It's common to hear both styles mixed in Hip Hop culture.
- inactive, on 02/19/2009, -1/+4wow best music ever
EVAR! - DiggedyDoo, on 02/19/2009, -0/+3Link to them on iTunes:
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/ ... - kelchm, on 02/19/2009, -0/+3I really liked this. Is their stuff available anywhere?
EDIT: http://www.hypnoticbrass.net/ - thayanmarsh, on 02/19/2009, -0/+3Maybe you can tell them that after you foreclose on that orphanage and cut your employees' holiday bonuses.
- martoq, on 02/19/2009, -0/+2When I walk do the street these guys would be following me playing this as my theme music.
- music4mic, on 02/19/2009, -0/+2intense. good stuff.
- ooMARLAoo, on 02/19/2009, -0/+2::flap flap flap:: goes the braided beard.
i like how it's the picture chosen to go along with the video. - Soma115, on 02/19/2009, -0/+2Beautiful.
- mattsouth, on 02/19/2009, -0/+2Hypnotic Brass Ensemble has always had gnarly style.
The horns of today will be as legendary as the guitars of the 70's. - casppro, on 02/19/2009, -0/+2awesome sound and good video, nice production and find
kudos - 120decibel, on 02/19/2009, -0/+2"War" is another great song from them...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUl-aBv889M - Pentatonic, on 02/19/2009, -0/+2i saw them play this live!
- LupeFiasco, on 02/19/2009, -0/+2Your MOM sounds like a bad Middle school marching band.
- nytel, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2Now that's what I call music!
- buddamus, on 02/19/2009, -0/+2This is awesome, nothing like a good bit of jazz
- greevar, on 02/19/2009, -0/+2That was some inspiring music. It makes me want to pick up the trumpet again. I've still got my guitar though. :)
- Halsfield, on 02/19/2009, -0/+1I liked the music but I'm not sure why 1/2 of the video is looking at the back of their heads or watching people walking (also mostly of the backs of their heads)
- Halsfield, on 02/19/2009, -0/+1none escape the hypno toad
- StickWST, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1DJing, Graffiti, MCing, Breaking
- hendrixlives64, on 02/19/2009, -0/+1These guys are fantastic, i hope they come through philadelphia soon. they actually did a few tracks with mos def live if anyone's interested in searching (hint: http://thepiratebay.org/ )
- JuniorVX, on 02/19/2009, -0/+1truly amazing.
- inactive, on 02/19/2009, -1/+2This is another example of....."REAL HIP HOP".....! For those who don't know, Hip-Hop has always been about the culture & knowledge of the inner-city, not necessarily rapping although its a part of it, and this is yet another beautiful example of that. Their performance and other artists like them have declared for a "long" time that Hip-Hop was never dead. The best person to describe this culture in even more detail is Hip-Hop artist Blastmaster KRS-One (or KRS-One).
Hip-Hop Forever! - inactive, on 02/19/2009, -0/+1Out of other styles this is the "New York Style" when it comes to filming. The purpose is to capture the enviornment around them, or to blend the music with the soul of the people in the inner-city, hope that helped!!
- endway, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1With the love of HD youtube also seems to be a valentine too.
- robotderek42, on 02/19/2009, -0/+1It's because the film editor can't sync the music EXACTLY with their movement. If the music and movements didn't match…you'd bitch about that instead.
Great video. - MisterEX, on 02/19/2009, -1/+2"Trust." That guy looked like Spike Lee.
- jessejansen, on 02/19/2009, -1/+1WHOOOOOOO AWSomE...!!!
Great Skills..!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMbbMTVmmO8 - JSquad, on 02/19/2009, -1/+1Thanks for the helpful description
- MicMacMikAllah, on 02/19/2009, -0/+0Any fan of Hypnotic should know the entire horn section (the band with exception to the drummer) are all brothers and they are also the sons of Kelan Phillip Cohran. If you don't know now you know. Peep him, the man is a legend and he's played alongside Sun-Ra among others.
