I remember how funny he was in the late 80's/early 90's, and I'm curious to see whether or not his claims of the FCC stifling him are true. As a fan, I think he jumped the shark when he hawked his merchandise (Private Parts the book, Private Parts the movie, Private Parts the softcover edition, etc.) endlessly for what seemed like years.
As for O&A, I thought they were funny back in the WAAF days, as well as during their stint on syndication. They do, however, owe a lot to Stern. Hell, I remember a time when Anthony was on the Stern show in a contest to impersonate Jackie the Jokeman. Anyone who says that O&A developed their act on their own is mistaken.

But even though I believe that Howard is a lying weasel, the main reason I dont listen to him anymore is because he just isnt as good as OnA period.

I really thought that was the end of the after-work laughs... now the whole country listens to them. Back then, I was 18, and it was all funny. Now, O & A, Stern, Carlin, and all the other fart-joke clowns just aren't that hilarious anymore. Maybe I'm getting old, but seriously, doesn't it just get old? I wonder when exactly it was that I started recognizing that what I thought were real feuds and/or conflicts like this were really fabricated marketing ploys - like when the WWF wrestlers would tell each other they'd rip each other limb from limb...? Hmmmph...

The satellite wars are heating up and Stern has a big part do to with it. It is news that is diggable. Satellite radio is technology. O&A have proven themselves to be no more than cursing hacks that I can hear on any playground. They are made of bravado and lack-of-talent.

Yay! *freinds cheer* - krux, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I use to be a diehard howard fanboy, but lately his show has been sucking and I picked up an XM unit since I liked their music offering better than what was on Sirius... started to listen to O&A and within two days I was totally sold on their show. It's totally different than anything Howard has done. LOTs of listener interaction. Good variety, as it's not all boobs and bitches... they'll be talking about politics one minute and then have lesbians going at it then next, and then tearing into some poor schmuck promoting his lame book the next. How they come up with four hours (ok 3 hours 50 minutes) of fresh new content every day astounds me. Those bashing on them who haven't listened to their show really need to do themself a service and try out the XM free trial online for a few days, or pop over to them on Direct TV, and give a listen to learn the beauty of the show. And then if you don't like them you don't like them. It's a show that's evolved quite a bit from the old days.
