- evanft, on 07/03/2009, -2/+35Doesn't make Judas Priest any less awesome.
Also, SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - velocity92c, on 07/02/2009, -7/+39It just goes to show that ugly transcends time.
- DouglasQ, on 07/03/2009, -0/+26Isn't the idea of fans supporting a band into their old age a sign that a band is good, not bad?
- Nick217, on 07/02/2009, -0/+20can't believe this band formed in 1969 and they are still going.
- jboitnott, on 07/03/2009, -0/+19Back in the day, parents and older people didn't come to these concerts. That has certainly changed.
- buu2, on 07/03/2009, -0/+17It's really a shame that us collegegoers aren't able to enjoy great hard rock as a group now a days. This music was made for partiers in their late teens and twenties, but they grew up and the next generation just doesn't follow old music well. I go to these concerts all the time and have such trouble making friends my age cause everyone is either 40, or 10 and with their parents.
- DouglasQ, on 07/03/2009, -0/+15That's really not it at all. You don't really 'get' this kind of music do you?
- thebillgonadz, on 07/03/2009, -0/+14Dugg for cougars.
- indubitably, on 07/03/2009, -0/+12yer.
- Vesuvias, on 07/03/2009, -3/+14OK is it just me... but I gotta say the Whitesnake fans have aged well (thank God for plastics)
- JimmyTheClam, on 07/03/2009, -2/+121986 looks like kids having fun
NOW just looks fat, depressing, and sad - Thebruce88, on 07/03/2009, -0/+10Listen to the album Painkiller, then tell me if you give a ***** that he's gay or not.
- DivisibleByZero, on 07/03/2009, -0/+9I went to Ozzfest the year Judas Priest had their big reunion. Between the fat teenage girls flashing Slipknot, and the fat old chicks flashing Judas Priest, it was not an entertaining audience at all. But the metal rocked.
- BaddBrainz, on 07/02/2009, -0/+8Heavy Metal Parking Lot is a classic. If you haven't seen it, go watch it now.
- alanmanquero, on 07/03/2009, -1/+9METAL MILFS FTW!
- AnalogAssassin, on 07/03/2009, -0/+8Judas Priest has always been metal. Whitesnake, not so much. Whitesnake is kind of the retarded child born from Thin Lizzy (a great band)
- mc88, on 07/03/2009, -1/+7Exactly. My parents hated my music, but my daughter and I have gone to many concerts together.
- DouglasQ, on 07/03/2009, -0/+6I swear to god if your idea of heavy metal is just a bunch of good-looking, 20-something, yank douche-bags who roar ***** myspace lyrics and scratch their heads to the name 'Iron Maiden' I'm gonna have you ***** HUNTED.
- sanchezke70, on 07/03/2009, -2/+7if your going to comment, at least know what the ***** you are talking about. just makes you look like a dumb *****.
- SgtSeaCow, on 07/03/2009, -0/+5That Keith Richards lookin' dude has a DC101 t-shirt! I grew up listening to that station, before it turned in to the soupy stool that it is today. I bet that show was at the *****' Caps Center, too! Ah, the good ol' days . . .
- AnalogAssassin, on 07/03/2009, -0/+5I'm going to guess that the douchebags who go to Nickelback and Hinder concerts will age about as well, except they're going to have listened to 20 years of douchey music.
- EndouOuto, on 07/03/2009, -0/+4So you never listened to Priest? They're one of the founders of the genre.
Whitesnake was never considered Heavy Metal - jezsik, on 07/03/2009, -1/+5Take your hip hop and leave us old codgers alone.
- TheRascalKing, on 07/03/2009, -0/+4There's a metal head in the parking lot.
- Blindlabel, on 07/03/2009, -0/+4Dugg for Saint Charles! (I live there)
- Nick217, on 07/03/2009, -0/+4WIN
- acdcfanbill, on 07/03/2009, -0/+4He's gay, and metalheads don't give a ***** because it's not about trends, exclusive parties, rich *****, Cadillac Escalades, who knows who, or other *****, it's about the music.
- Stevethegreat, on 07/03/2009, -0/+3Metal is more popular now than ever, at least in Europe. Check the open air festivals which happen every year there. Just because Americans have an awful taste in music (I'm sarcastic here, obviously not all Americans fit the bill, I talk about mainstream music), doesn't mean that music in general does not progress in the rest of the world. Metal is now both more artsier and exciting than back in the day, also more popular. Just look at the great bands you created back in the 80s (thrash metal scene) and where they're now, also check the Scandinavian metal scene as of the last two decades. American metal -mostly- descended to the pits of metalcore and nu-***** while Europe -still- creates metal that parallels jazz in complexity and classical in composition and motifs.
Oh, ***** off... - kaosethema, on 07/03/2009, -2/+5buried for putting Priest in the same article with Whitesnake.
- EndouOuto, on 07/03/2009, -0/+32004? Damn, Deep Purple was over the hill in the '80s.
- DivisibleByZero, on 07/03/2009, -0/+3I'm still baffled by the fact that people ever thought Halford was straight.
- LOCK3D, on 07/03/2009, -1/+4Then: young, thin with bad hair, but it was somewhat in style at the time.
Now: old, fat with bad hair that hasn't been stylish for at least two decades.
Rock on! - inactive, on 07/03/2009, -0/+3Peggy Bundy at 1:00 in the video
- XorpheusX, on 07/03/2009, -1/+4I went to a Deep Purple concert back in 2004. These pictures are NOTHING. The true aging metal fans look much worse than this.
So few teeth... - CoreyHalliwell, on 07/03/2009, -0/+2Not only ugly but i mean.. obesity... from those pictures, in the last 20 years the average weight of a metal head has increased by at least 20lbs.
- Coffeedemon, on 07/03/2009, -0/+2Yeah. You're seeing the original fans bring their kids to Priest (and similar) shows nowadays. When I saw Judas Priest and Anthrax a few years ago the audience ranged from 10 right up to what must have been 75-80.
- CaptainSoviet, on 07/03/2009, -0/+2Pain and Pleasure and Grinder are prime examples of that.
I mean, Grinder starts with the line "Never straight and narrow" and Rob goes on to say "Grinder, looking for meat". - AmazingSteve, on 07/03/2009, -0/+2Back in the day bands like Priest hadn't been around for 30 or so years. When I go to these shows now, I'm surprised at the amount of kids that go. Motley was full of 20 and unders last summer.
- jezsik, on 07/03/2009, -0/+2Damn! I was in DC last summer after a looooong hiatus. I tuned into DC101 thinking, somehow, I'd go back in time. "Make it stop. Make it stop!"
- steelreserve211, on 07/03/2009, -0/+2Yup. I remember. Glen "Burnout" forever.
- iriemember, on 07/03/2009, -1/+3I saw heavy metal parking lot while in a documentary class, so ***** awesome! Seriously, with a few of the right men (and even more beers), it makes for an epic movie night.
- christoast, on 07/03/2009, -1/+3I probably have nothing in common with these people but when looking at anything in retrospect, i can only feel depressed.
Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans - John Lennon - Pixiemom1970, on 07/03/2009, -0/+2@scuba
actually no, it is not - badfrog, on 07/03/2009, -1/+3... or bald and not by choice.
- eviscerator, on 07/03/2009, -0/+1Agreed.
- jezsik, on 07/03/2009, -0/+1Remember the "War of the Worlds" album?
- DredPir8Robrts, on 07/03/2009, -0/+1God, I really want to watch FUBAR again. If you haven't seen it, rent it and buy a flat of Pilsner on the way home. Trust me.
- Coffeedemon, on 07/03/2009, -0/+1Changes absolutely *nothing*. The music rocked when they recorded it and it rocks today.... well maybe not Turbo/Turbo Lover... that was a little weak IMO.
