- Squeegee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Borderline spam. EVERY URL this poster submits goes back to his/her website.
- ccunni, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4not only a beaten horse.. its being used with such frequency that the vast majority of the websites google displays are now down.... [remove result]
- pairanoyd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Add this to your Konqueror (KDE 3.5) web shortcuts under settings, config, web shortcuts.
Make sure to put a check mark to enable the new shortcut, name it, say, MP3z for instance.
intitle:index.of "mp3" +"{@}" -htm -html -php -asp "Last Modified"
the {@} is the secret.
Exit Konq. and restart. Go to anywhere on the web, a blog or something and when you see a word that might be part of a song, or even a whole title, click to highlight it then right click and select search (your highlighted text) at MP3z. BAM!! A new search window opens to google and it finds it for you.
Works great, I use this same method for ebay, newegg, all sorts of places. VERY handy.. - INHUMANITY, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2www.opendirectories.net is another one.
- Streyeder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Google temporarily banned me! ACK!

this topic has been posted at least 5 times b4; a good, but old topic - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just searched Google and got Ring of Fire by Coldplay (cover)
Cool. - njbair, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Isn't this common geek knowledge? I guess not. Only now that it's been dugg it probably won't work for much longer.
- giggins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1oldie but a goodie
- Leech, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2uhm, this guy are using the google pay-per-search form in his example?
well anyway it's ok.. - thevanin, on 12/20/2008, -0/+1So many commas in the description! One comma for every 4.25 words.
- siouxmoux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Soulseek p2p is the best place to find those hard to find mp3 tracks.
- dogoon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1thanks for the heads up
ive noticed that my school blocks most of the proxys but hopefully not this one since it does have "Google" in it.
thanks again - zerovertex, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2intitle:index.of "mp3" +"metallica" -htm -html -php -asp "Last Modified" w00t!
- archangeloliver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This happened to me too...
- diafel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've used this string before and it's tiresome when the only results you can get are directories crawled months ago that no longer exist, or go at 2kb/s
- frouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1bittorrent is not that great for rare things that people aren't seeding anymore.

- luckyschop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow what a beaten horse. this has been shown numerous times.
- mattgilberg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1now why do so many people complain about this story being repeatedly shown on the front page? the whole purpose of digg is to allow the user to decide what is front page worthy and what is not, hence "digging" if it keeps showing up while people digg for stories or in digg spy, people will just simply not digg it, but as of now when im writing this, 371 people thought it was "front page" worthy.
- Schrade, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Good tip but BitTorrent is still better. Easier to find things and also find out if you'll be able to complete a download or not.
- SirDuke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Sorry to tell you but it's not my site. I dig it so I contribute to it every once in a while. But, none of the stories I've submitted here have been my stories on entertainME.
- 022A, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Welcome to 1998! Any good PC tech has been doing this for a long time.
These "index" searches are very useful for a lot of things beyond music. If you are looking for a specific filename there isn't much you can't find this way.
I've had amazing luck finding obscure binaries for all sorts of things. - softmod, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2http://www.trinity.edu/jdunn/googlemusic.htm
- pairanoyd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Argh! This is messing me up here!!
You HAVE to put a backslash in front of the { sign or the shortcut above will NOT work.
Digg doesn't allow html and it seems to think a backslash in the above code was html.
Bah..
If you aren't sure, select edit on some existing shortcuts and see how they are done and copy the variable. - cybercat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Eeh, nice thought but doesn't really work for me.
I got about 514 results for my search...
96% "File not found"
3% "Forbidden"
Remaining 1% Not Relevent. - sirious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I guess for some of us non uber-techs it actually was helpful. I found it to be. Same with some of these other links... thanks!

So many people have used this method they think it's a DoS attack - scoboose, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1good tip!
- elvis314, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I have been looking to purchase 1 single song for the last couple year and I cannot find it on ITunes, Napster, MSN Music, etc... I look on here with no luck whatsoever. Lame ass, no digg for getting my hopes up...can I do a negative digg?
- bab7880, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Replace the "U2" with "Avenged+Sevenfold"
