      He reminds me of another large black singer whose name is on the tip of my tounge yet I can't remember. It'll probably click 5 seconds after the edit option dissapears, or someone will see it and reply immediately and I will be buried for looking like a dick.

      By coincident I read an interview with these guys earlier today. Apparently most of the vocals on the album are the first take. Guy can sing.

      Wow, someone else on digg at coachella. That's sort of odd. I actually went solely for Tool, but damn Gnarls Barkley put on an _awesome_ show. Plus it was nice to chill out in there compared to being out in the blistering hot sun lol.

      Definitely going back to coachella next year ;)

      The Gnarls Barkley thing was a bit gimmicky I thought. But I guess it was in tribute to Star Wars finally coming to an end after ~30 years. Darth Vader got the best villian award too. But why wasn't Palpatine nominated?

    Aside from the sheer entertaining aspects, I don't quite know the reasoning behing the Star Wars theme. Perhaps it was a personal favorite interest of CeeLo or Dangermouse...

After hearing Smiley Faces I had to buy the album, but I suggest you do buy it if you like it.

      Those diggers who are UK based, the cheapest place I found to get it from was 4cheapcds, for £6.99 including delivery, which I think is a resonable price for an album ( http://www.4cheapcds.com/Product/ProductInfo.aspx?id=219564 ).

I like Gnarls Barkley too, but some of the deeper tracks on the album aren't as good, but i really really like the first track... not sure of the name at the moment though

    I saw these guys play live on Conan O'Brien's show awhile back and they were all dressed up in bathrobes with rubber duckies & shower caps. Pretty funny stuff.

      That song, that band is ten times better than 99 percent of the hip hop, emo garbage on the air.

I'm a pretty big fan of Danger Doom ever since the Grey Album and watched them first perform at the Coachella (which is a great place to listen to good music) and I would say that Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo have a pretty big indie following in the hip hop scene.

      If you didn't know Danger Mouse produced the Danger Doom album with MF Doom and the Gorillaz Demon Dayz with Damon Albarn (from the Blur).

That is why I find it surprising that they are even getting airtime from MTV because they are "that" good. I wish some other great underground artists could get as much publicity as Gnarls Barkley is getting because there is so much garbage on MTV and the radio that it makes me sick. But just because they are on MTV doesn't make them trash, I can assure that they are anything but garbage...

    I guess it is not for everyone, and it is kind of an acquired taste. I also love DangerMouse's collabo with MF Doom (aka DangerDoom) and they had a video on adult swim a while back.

  • headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here's what I keep wondering every time I see them in costumes: Is this all Danger Mouse's idea, and CeeLo just goes along with it? Cause Danger Mouse seems the more eccentric, artsy, crazy one, and CeeLo is a little more traditional R&B. I have a hard time imagining this kind of stuff being CeeLo's idea.

    Either way, I love it.
