First official Beatles stage show opens
cnn.com — Lucy swoops on a trapeze across a sky twinkling with diamonds, Mr. Kite presides over a psychedelic circus of stiltwalkers and acrobats, and the unmistakable voices of John, Paul, George and Ringo fill the surround sound-equipped arena.

- ArthurSucks, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
- joeshlub, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5That would be pretty tripped out to go to.
- bebop717, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Please don't do it.
Please stop it now.
What did the beatles ever do to you? - Karant, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0'But for avid Beatles fans, the real star of the show is the music -- some 130 songs remixed, mashed up and born again with a clarity never heard before.'
130 songs? Sounds overwhelming.- kratos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Did you read the article? "Love" was born of a friendship between the late George Harrison and Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte.
- ThomasCJohnson, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Why do they do this? I don't think George and John would like this. Putting the money towards helping the poor, is what they would have appreciated.
- philgmo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2George Martin wouldn't let us down...... would he?
- tsukiyo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9To all the naysayers, you know jack *****. I will admit right now that I haven't seen the show, but I would do anything to. Anything put together with this much love by one of the world's leading and most adored performance troupe, Quebec's own Cirque Du Soleil, has got to be worth seeing. All you need is love.
Digg++- Durinthal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Right. People need to keep in mind that this is Cirque first, Beatles second.
- freakystyley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If anybody could pull off a Beatles stage show with class, it's got to be the Cirque du Soleil. The last thing we need is a broadway-styled style, like the cast of Rent slingin' Beatles tunes. Beeuurk!
'Sides, this project seems like a full-fledged Cirque du Soleil and Beatles love-fest. Can't go wrong. As long as Yoko doesn't interrupt the show to let loose a string of non-sensical diatribe about love and world peace, it's all good. But if she does, and it's immediately followed by Paul's "Get Back", I guess that's all good too :P.
- quicksilver, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1oh the band Beatles, I was thinking bug beatles that someone has finally trained to act on a mini stage
- Logan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2The insect is a beetle. The band is The Beatles. Note the use of an ee versus the use of an ea.
- astronaut, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3The thought of brightly clad acrobats in spandex jumping around to the beatles makes me want to punch myself in the face.
- GabeUtsecks, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2word.
- JRJ0710296, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I am the walrus.
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5The walrus was Paul!
- daRoach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Paul is dead!
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"Played in a custom-built, 2,000-seat theater at the Mirage hotel, "Love" takes its audience on a part-chronological, part-fantasy journey ..."
And when they pass around the homemade sangria, someone will inevitably drop lots of LSD into it -- so the audience can have a REAL Magical Mystery Tour!
LOL "Roll-up for the mystery tour"- freakystyley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2LSD-laced sangria. Now that's a gimmick I would gladly pay for for this type of show.
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Cirque Du Soleil is awesome...but why do they have to do it in such a sleazy place like Vegas?
...but I guess even if they performed in NYC, I still would not pay upwards of $100 per ticket-- just to watch some show...no matter how great they are. I'll wait until there is a bit torrent file!
When it comes out, let me know.
I'll BE AT Leso!
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Mirage Hotel!- freakystyley, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1What's with Quebecers and Vegas!? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celine_dion
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I think they're finally running out of ideas for stage shows after a few hundred years, or maybe they're just getting greedy like TV execs. They'll make a stage show out of anything these days. Not that I don't love The Beatles mind you.
- kratos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Running out of ideas! This is the first good one.
- catbertz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's getting rave reviews like this:
"The Daily Telegraph's Charles Spencer described the show as "ravishing and almost indecently spectacular."
"Cirque du Soleil is also overpoweringly moving. For it achieves the apparently impossible, allowing you to hear the Beatles with fresh ears.
"At times you seem to be listening to the music of your childhood and youth as if for the first time," he wrote enthusiastically.
"The sound is like a dream come true." "
Borrowed from here: http://tinyurl.com/r8ez6 - B33P, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am most definitely going to get the DVD version of this, taking into account there is no chance I can make it to Vegas anytime soon. Now to get back to listening to Hey Jude.
