- pault107, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6The face starts coming into view at around 5:27 and is fully viewable at 5:36.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8I wonder what cats sound like

- vertigoacid, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Except that it's well known among Aphex Twin fans that Richard D. James is a pathological liar, and you should take everything said by him with a HUGE grain of salt
- themastersb, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5It's more 5:36 not 5:27
- h4mx0r, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Good job, these things seem tricky to be noticed! Sherlock Holmes reincarnated?
- victorycig, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5"It turned out that this "picture to audio" -thing was really not hard to do at all and there was a Windows program called Coagula that could transform any picture into soundwaves with minimum effort. Aphex Twin himself had used a Mac program called Metasynth to do his images."
http://www.bastwood.com/aphex.php (thanks chaosmachine) - cnt2infinity, on 10/10/2007, -6/+10For more Aphex Twin that will blow your mind, check out the 'Come to Daddy' video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Az_7U0-cK0
"The name "Aphex Twin" is derived from Aphex Systems Limited, a brand of audio signal processing equipment. It is used with permission, as was recognized on the back sleeve of his Richard D. James and Drukqs albums. He has explained in interviews that the 'Twin' is in memory of his brother, also named Richard James, who died during child birth." - Fuline, on 10/10/2007, -1/+51. Taste. For me, being very fascinated by sounds, this is an audio orgasm. Seriously, why are people still feeling that they have the authority to judge what can and can't be considered music?
- Schmidtopolis, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5If I gave you 100 oscillators, and 100 hours, I bet you couldn't come up with anything near what Aphex Twin is doing. Regardless of your tastes in music, their stuff is impressive. While it may not be as sonically pleasing as other forms of music, the pure talent and skill it takes to manipulate waveforms in such a way is so far beyond me.
- frogpelt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3You might not believe this, but I am the first idiot to reply to your comment.
- thenativeraver, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Also, the beepmap in fruity loops does the same thing.
- diizy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5i perfer this one:

not only is the start awesome, but the video, the producer of the vid are awesome. - DocDEB, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Too bad it's not on toast... could sell it on e-Bay then.
- victorycig, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Oh, and here's a java applet that does the same thing.

Image of it for those too lazy to wait for it. - Thater, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah, this was actually a pretty common technique in the IDM scene for a while. Venetian Snares, Plaid, and more recently Nine Inch Nails, all did it.
- Digisphere, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3"Skip to 5:27" >> 0:18 left
- r1ptide64, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3schooner?
- Thater, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4All three of those videos were made by the same director (excluding the rickroll obviously)... So I'll just finish off the trend with these last two pieces they collaborated on.
Monkey Drummer - http://stage6.divx.com/user/Cryogenics/video/1045628/Monkey-Drummer
Flex (NSFW)- http://stage6.divx.com/user/Cryogenics/video/1045707/FLEX Aphex Twin did the sound in this one, not so much a song. It's originally a 15 minute film but I've never seen the entire thing. - spudnic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah the 'Skip to 5:27 for the creepy grin of Twin himself. ' bit of the description was far too precise for me, thank you for providing a more vague alternative.
- happyperson, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I had a go at making a diggnation one
http://digg.com/videos/music/Diggnation_Turning_an_image_into_Sound_and_back_again - ZacamCheron, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Music is a subjective matter experienced individually, iziizi. Try not to hate.
- sourwood, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5If only I could give you more diggs...
- Jowitz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2http://bayimg.com/EaFdBAaBA
Or perhaps it was a face put there on purpose. No, I'm exactly sure that's what it is. - Synthos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You can't admit that's not really really clear.
- movieguyjon, on 04/03/2009, -1/+3Not really sure why we needed to sit through 5 minutes just to see a silly face at the end of the video, but okay.
- ahawks, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3he has a point, quit burying him.
1) Youtube doesn't let you skip, depending on the video it seems, and it never lets you skip ahead of what you already have downloaded.
2) The embedded player's time display shows how much time is LEFT, not how far in you are.
So to say "Skip to 5:27" is vague. Do you mean 5 minutes and 27 seconds into the video (which requires doing the math in your head), or do you mean "go to when the display says 5:27"?
In this case, they mean "go 5 minutes and 27 seconds in" - estacado, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3It's the same music from the brainwash scene in Lost.

He linked to a genius Aphex Twin video and gave some intelligent insight into the origin of their name. - rainbowrandolph, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I liked it better when NIN did this with the arm.
- psygnisfive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4...
