- TheWalkingDude, on 10/12/2007, -2/+36Digg users don't seem to have a problem with The Pirate Bay, besides everything has a source listed. I think this falls under the "gray area" that Kevin Rose talked about in Diggnation #50.

There's a list with thousands of 80's videos to watch online. - theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21You mean the '80's were THE *****!
I was in HS in the '80's. This is great. - dielawn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18"***** the 80's"
"dont EVER say that about the time EVER AGAIN!! PURPLE RAIN BITCHES!!" - Fly1m1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17I have the billboard top 100 for every year from 1946 - 2005. That's 5900 songs. Where did I get it? IRC using Mirc.
- Aurarch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15the first rule of usenet is that you do not talk about usenet
- Computer_Kid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Industry of Recording Against Americans? :-)
They don't deserve to have their name spelled right! :-p - TheThirdWheel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Exactly, why doesn't this free site that you took time to put together have the MP3's I think should be there? People have become so accustomed to free they want free stuff to be perfect.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Am I the only one that didn't miss the sarcasm in luke's comment? Mod this boy up people!
- mark1372, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Billie Jean is also not my lover.
- Computer_Kid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10The IRAA starts suing in 3... 2... 1...
- Briankb68, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I've got almost every song that has ever charted on the pop or country charts, over 40,000 songs. Where did I get? The good old usenet. Still a goldmine, and RIAA and MPAA free...mostly.
- buffymcmuffy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8For me the 80's was all Iron Maiden and other people with waaaaay too much hair. Sad thing is I still listen to that *****. Ho Hum.
- Fly1m1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8This site brought to you by...The RIAA. Where entrapment is the name of the game.
- Clark3934, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8What? NO RUSH??
How can that list not have Canada's Arist of the decade for the 80's?
:( - Blizzardman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8THE SAFETY DANCE YA!!
- subversive1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Divynals – I Touch Myself
That broad turned me on writhing all over the place in the video,and to imagine her touching herself thinking of me...YUM!!! Then I saw her on VH1 or some channel recently,I cried.She didn't age well.Thanks for hijacking my early 20's!!! - roastedbagel, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8When I hear "Send Me an Angel", I instantly think of The Wizard (video game movie), great memories...
- Wobble, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8best digg post ever.... i love the 80s :)
- nosebleed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Pfft. They list Mike & The Mechanics, Peter Gabriel, AND Phil Collins, but NO Genesis. Come on.
- TheWalkingDude, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Thanks TheThirdWheel. In response to some of the above complaints:
@Enitime
Yes, The Knack was 1979.
@TimmyGUNZ
Yes, BBD's Poison was 1990.
@adminmatt
Use the links called "Find More Music Here".
@CRASSPUNXTEXHTV
If this list goes over well I will add more - I prefer to label those groups as Punk and leave the 80's to mean 80's pop.
With all of this negativity I should have put Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry Be Happy" (1988).
http://briand716pa.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/bobbymcferrin-dontworrybehappy.mp3 - TheBurt, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10LOL raid, i love you man.
- MaxPlague, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Hey, "The Warrior" wasn't done by Pat Benatar. That was from Scandal featuring Patty Smyth.
Oh man, my first post and it's me being a geek about 80's music. heh. - mortem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4music for nothing YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
- speedyrev, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6My Sharona was released in '79 but still very popular in the 80's. Gimme a break.
- serpentor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I appreciate the story, and appreciate all the piracy-related stories (all Calvin n Hobbes, all South Parks, Pirate Bay news). Don't underestimate the "silent majority" who do happen to enjoy piracy everyday.
- Eccles, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4raid, my kids *love* 80s music.
You've been modded down because saying X is crap is a pointless comment. The 70s were the decade with the worst fashion, not the 80s. As for greed and selfishness, you mean we're different now? Could have fooled me... - misfit410, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Someone should tell them Pat Benatar did not sing "The Warrior", Patti Smyth did
- cataphoresis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5For those who want to download these and not take forever, wget (or curl for you OSX kids) or the DownThemAll firefox extension are your friends.
win32 wget: http://users.ugent.be/~bpuype/wget/
DTA extension: http://www.downthemall.net - Bokista, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Pretty good list. It's a shame I already had 95% of these.
- celticeric, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4As the blog post notes, all of the mp3s listed come from an online search engine:
http://search.singingfish.com
Looks like an RIAA lawsuit waiting to happen. But it does seem to actually work (for now). - opencity, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Dead or Alive
a classic house punk groove - leobaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I love how one of the sources listed is 129.59.1.28
vanderbilt - Enitime, on 10/12/2007, -10/+12The Knack - My Sharona .. Good song, but from the 70s, not the 80s.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3There are plenty of good punk/hardcore blogs out there with free mp3s. The best of which is probably www.somethingilearned.com.
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My favorite genre of music is definitely Seattle grunge. Temple of the Dog, Mudhoney, Alice in Chains, Candlebox, The Melvins, Soundgarden, and of course Pearl Jam and Nirvana. Absolutely Top Shelf in my book. But just because those bands were brought to the forefront in the '90's, does not make the '90's the greatest decade for music. The '90's also brought us Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, and all that other absolute crap. Thank you Carson *****.
I probably really like grunge because I was in college at the time. However, I was in HS in the '80's, and that was also some fun kick-ass music too.
But they did need Def Lepard on there somewhere. Less Michael Jackson, more Def Lepard and Motley Crue. - xman00, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Does anyone remember:

Does the job! - EsotericBoredom, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4What about Gun's and Roses? They were late 80's
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guns_And_Roses - aximbigfan, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6no depeche mode - no digg...
- tedwardo2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Download 80's music and we don't get paid for it? Sounds like we're getting the raw end of the deal here.
- bpm990d, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4For all those jack holes that think the 80s sucked. What about the Pixies? They were the 80s.
