- mywhitenoise, on 07/15/2009, -2/+27It's not that people weren't ready for Pinkerton, it's that the radio didn't want to play it. It's universally agreed that it's Weezer's best (and last tolerable) album.
- stevieraveon, on 07/16/2009, -2/+11God damn you half Japanese girls, do it to me everytime
- JoeB4ever, on 07/16/2009, -1/+8wow Mariah Carey and Nickelback both had an album come out 9-11-01.
I'm starting to think it was as inside job. - stevieraveon, on 07/16/2009, -1/+8No Aerosmith "Permanent Vacation" for a comeback?
- ProfessorRiffs, on 07/16/2009, -1/+7Brian Johnson is Bon Scott's 'vocal doppelganger'?!?! Both are amazing singers, but they sound totally different. This list just earned the right to ***** off.
- Jeffler, on 07/16/2009, -0/+6As much as I like it, many will probably say this is missing Oasis' Be Here Now under flops.
- AmericanGunner, on 07/15/2009, -0/+6Do we really need to bring Cool as Ice up again?
- jrm125, on 07/16/2009, -2/+6***** Glitter
- 5starbabydotcom, on 07/16/2009, -1/+5"Back in Black" was an amazing comeback, maybe the best.
- hellboy1975, on 07/16/2009, -1/+4Pop is one of my favorite U2 albums to be honest. Everything since then has been far worse...
- stevieraveon, on 07/16/2009, -1/+4I don't know if I'd call it a "comeback". The previous album with Bon Scott was Highway to Hell which was their biggest success. Wikipedia - "Highway to Hell was the first AC/DC LP to break into the US top 100, eventually reaching #17, and it propelled AC/DC into the top ranks of hard rock acts."
- Gatesophile, on 07/16/2009, -1/+3......as flops or comebacks?
- AutomaticTLC, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2Madonna's "American Life" was originally completely bashed, but then it was praised by critics once Confessions on a Dancefloor was released and has always been a hardcore fan favorite.
/one of two defenders of American Life. - neelshiv, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2Probably because a lot of people liked and bought load/ReLoad.
- mywhitenoise, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2that I DIDN'T like it? How the hell did you get that idea?
Green was garbage, Maladroit is their worst, Make Believe was an improvement, and Red was a step back in the wrong direction. I love Blue and Pink. - carlberg, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2Pinkerton rocked and will always be Weezer's best album.
- theblonde, on 07/16/2009, -1/+2Although it always comes up in lists of flops, I never have understood why Bob Dylan's Self Portrait is so frowned upon.
- xaeon, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1There's an even weirder one regarding Dream Theater.
"The cover for the CD version of the concert, titled Live Scenes from New York, depicted one of Dream Theater's early logos (the Images And Words-era burning heart, modeled on the Sacred Heart of Christ) modified to show an apple (as in "Big Apple") instead of the heart, and the New York skyline, including the twin towers of the World Trade Center, in the flame above it. In an unfortunate coincidence, the album was released on the same date as the September 11, 2001 attacks. The album was quickly recalled by the band and was re-released with revised artwork later." - Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream_Theater#Scenes_ ... - breakbeat7, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1it was all going so well until U2 popped up.
- robEstyles, on 07/16/2009, -2/+3Oh, the redhead said you shred the cello
And I'm jello, baby - edcrosay, on 07/16/2009, -2/+3Don't call it a comeback, they've been there for years.
- bjstiktrix, on 07/16/2009, -2/+3go pinkerton!
- Tw3ek, on 07/16/2009, -1/+2Or because Death Magnetic wasn't really a comeback as much as it was just less crappy than Load / Reload / St. Anger
- gordigor, on 07/16/2009, -1/+2Let the U2 bashing begin. /s
- pp7k, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1Yeah, that stuck out to me as well. The album definitely belongs here due to the fact that they had the balls to go with someone who sounded COMPLETELY DIFFERENT when the safer path would have been to find someone who could imitate Scott.
Even thought I prefer Scott as a vocalist this was a great album and still stands as the best overall work they've done. All of the best AC/DC songs since are the ones that sound like they could have been on Back In Black. - Dissonance, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1Kylie Minogue should be on this list! She's been written off as a laughing stock more than a few times, and always bounced back.
- MrSkills, on 07/18/2009, -0/+1They've missed off probably the two most famous, archetypal flops/comebacks:
FLOP: "Neither Fish Nor Flesh" by Terrence Trent D'Arby
COMEBACK: "Private Dancer" by Tina Turner - vawksel, on 07/28/2009, -0/+1Playable albums (for the most part :-) [All jukefly.com links]

- JoeB4ever, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1the cover of the nickelback album was just an eye with a tear
i find that kind of eerie - RadioDaze, on 07/16/2009, -0/+0If you can't appreciate what U2 contributed to rock, then jeez, what the hell are you listening to?
- vivalastereo, on 07/16/2009, -3/+3I don't think america was ready. People with decent taste in music recognized it as genius, but let's face it, most of America only likes what shoved down their throat by the radio and are unwilling to search stuff out on their own. Since radio didn't care, neither did the masses.
- Pirate42, on 07/16/2009, -8/+8***** U2.
- Chirp08, on 07/20/2009, -1/+1Red was what happens when you make an album that radio wants to play. It's a bunch of ***** that we are all tired of hearing but gets more play time then the excellent songs on Blue & Pink
- Chirp08, on 07/20/2009, -1/+1Well the whole point is that they had amazing success and lost their singer causing people to think they are done. To back up an album like Highway to Hell with Back in Black is hard enough feat, nevermind pulling it off with a new front man.
- inactive, on 07/16/2009, -2/+1Every Nine Inch Nails album.
- neelshiv, on 07/16/2009, -3/+2Universally agreed? That seems like an overzealous way of saying that you didn't like it. Maladroit was a great album, even if the green album and all of their albums after maladroit are garbage.
- ScootrNova, on 07/16/2009, -5/+4I'm surprised Metallica's incredibly long Load / ReLoad / St. Anger phase was not shown with Death Magnetic as the revival...
But P.S. U2 sucks. - LETHARGICpirate, on 07/16/2009, -6/+4I really enjoyed "All That You Can't Leave Behind." Go ahead, bury me.
- mace, on 07/16/2009, -4/+2Shocked to see one of my all time favorite albums first on the list.
