- inactive, on 12/04/2007, -14/+241Can't disagree with this one, it's been a bad decade for music.
- bejayel, on 12/04/2007, -4/+192And the RIAA wonders why nobody wants to buy music.
- EvanVolm, on 12/04/2007, -11/+165Chocolate Rain.
- imightbewrong, on 12/04/2007, -6/+150YOOOUUUUUUUUU!!!
...so annoying - leowatson, on 12/04/2007, -13/+151Why doesn't Rihanna's "Umbrella" make this list?
- bincoder, on 12/04/2007, -4/+112I used to p2p music all the time and have stopped totally. Not because of any threats of lawsuits, not even from the annoyance of MDs flood attacks. Just because there is no music that I want to hear these days. Congrats RIAA, you won the p2p war, by shooting yourselves in the foot.
- creativeamp68, on 12/04/2007, -1/+94You forgot Hurricane Chris' "Ay Bay Bay"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sap4Q94gfVI - Shakermaker, on 12/04/2007, -12/+92THANK YOU for including the Plain White T's....that song is the biggest piece of trash going....
- trer, on 12/04/2007, -3/+81So! Who's into supersoaking hos?
- iRaachie, on 12/04/2007, -4/+70As long as "This is why I'm Hot" is on this list, I'm satisfied.
Wait I take that back--"Aye Bay Bay" isn't on it. - kpaphysicist, on 12/04/2007, -3/+69Think listening to these songs for 5 seconds a piece is annoying? Try having a roommate who plays these songs with his 5 speaker surround sound! / goes back into indie cave
- RahSquared, on 12/04/2007, -2/+67"Who needs best selling album (Soulja Boy's has sold less than a million) when you've got the kind of internet fame that's normally reserved for two girls eating a cup of their own poop!"
Classic. - inactive, on 12/04/2007, -1/+64You're right about this one. I could only watch about 5 seconds of each one, then I was ready for the Alka-Seltzer.
- TeacherOfHeroes, on 12/04/2007, -0/+63"it's been a bad decade for [mainstream north american] music."
Seems more accurate. Music from other parts of the world, and north american Indie stuff still seem fine - inactive, on 12/04/2007, -1/+61That T-Pain song is hilariously retarded if you actually listen to the words: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTK0kFXJjd0 (not the video, it's the lyrics dissected)
- TheMidnight, on 12/04/2007, -2/+61Dugg because I have equal reactions to 2girls1cup and all of that music.
- inactive, on 12/04/2007, -3/+55There were songs this year? I must have missed them because they all sucked ass.
- SonicAD, on 12/04/2007, -1/+50This post brought to you by Misplaced Emphasis Theater
- robberry, on 12/04/2007, -0/+48No, you should feel fortunate.
- sterntastic223, on 12/04/2007, -2/+48even if a guy cheated on you, don't key his car...you never mess with another man's vehicle
- kgorczyn, on 12/04/2007, -2/+47Ela Ela Ela Ela Eh Eh Eh Ela Ela Ela
- brstilson, on 12/04/2007, -3/+46I'm 25 and I think 99% of all popular music (and movies for that matter) from the last 15 years sucks.
Plus, a lot of us are into the bands our parents were into. Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, etc. Good music is timeless. - MacEnvy, on 12/04/2007, -1/+44It seems like a lot of us in THIS generation think our music is crap, though. Not exactly the same thing as thinking our kids' music sucks.
- Hoogs, on 12/04/2007, -0/+43Some stay dry while others feel the pain.
- phazon88, on 12/04/2007, -0/+42Don't forget Shut Up and Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive Drive. Honestly what the ***** is that *****?
- Smiths, on 12/04/2007, -1/+41All of these ***** songs are in constant rotation at my gym (LA Fitness). It's musical awfulness l on an unimaginable scale.
- robberry, on 12/04/2007, -0/+36Great, now I'm gonna have "Chocolate Rain" stuck in my head for the rest of the day. Thanks a pantload.
- topiKal, on 12/04/2007, -1/+37Sorry but I don't care what age they are; anyone who thinks "Crank That" is a good song is an idiot.
Soulja Boy is the Chinese water torture of music. - mlvassallo, on 12/04/2007, -4/+37You mean Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. And not only did he do a pretty good job sampling it, but Daft Punk, as great as they are, used samples to make up that song in the first place... they just added in 4 words themselves... Harder, Better, Faster, Stonger...
- Apokalyptik, on 12/04/2007, -8/+41I'm going to respectfully disagree with Paolo Nutini's "New Shoes" and PB&J's "Young Folks".
Call me a scene-fag, if you wish, but I'm pretty sure there are much assier songs than those 2... oh yeah, so does Double Viking, rolling three songs into one slot. - andycr512, on 12/04/2007, -0/+33Plop, plop, fizz, fizz, wish I could forget how bad it is...
- MacEnvy, on 12/04/2007, -2/+34Ahhh, skeet skeet skeet skeet.
- inactive, on 12/04/2007, -2/+34I assume it's a good thing I've only heard _of_ Britney Spears out of the whole list then.
- drusilla, on 12/04/2007, -9/+40It's depressing to think that this decade will give us Britney Spears, Westlife, the rebirth of the Spice Girls, etc. Bring back the 70s & 80s! (Even the 90s for some stuff)
- JoeDiggsIt, on 12/04/2007, -0/+30try RTFA
- sterntastic223, on 12/04/2007, -0/+28I was saying even Lil Jon is genius level to the crap we had this year.
- saltinekracka20, on 12/04/2007, -1/+28A Digger without an iPod?
/head esplod - rudy23, on 12/04/2007, -6/+33offtopic but why does digg have to get crappier by the day. They changed the Go button to an image. now after I eneter the password it doesnt log me in if I hit the enetr key. Ihave to click on Go.
Not to mention that digg keeps logging me out every 60 mins. - crestfall, on 12/04/2007, -0/+27Record stores should stop organizing music by genre, and catalog by IQ range. On a side note, I'm thinking of starting a clothing line to compete with FUBU - it will be called FSPBSP - For Stupid People, By Stupid People. I plan on being a billionaire... a stupid one, who will spend it all on rims and fronts.
- JoeDiggsIt, on 12/04/2007, -1/+25Very true. Our music is worthless, that's why I have to look like a damn hippie because I've turned to classic rock instead of ***** Nickelback, etc.
- wild, on 12/04/2007, -1/+25"Even the 90s"?
WHats wrong withthe 90s? We got some great music in teh 90s. (Well, pre-98) - RizzoFrank, on 12/04/2007, -8/+30I think the problem is because of American idol. Any no talent ass clown thinks they can start winning grammys now.
- ndiderrich, on 12/04/2007, -2/+24mainstream music sucks, it's all garbage now, listen to old underground music.
- Icupnimpn2, on 12/04/2007, -2/+24Bawww... I like "Young Folks" by Peter Bjorn and John.
Plus, they have a music video that is a take on all of those rag doll physics games, except in 3D and using the main singer. Pretty geeky, really.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxVRhcLXftg - kickinazz, on 12/04/2007, -4/+26WTF do you expect when you go to a place named "LA Fitness"? Go to a real gym instead of that trendy crap.
- SteveKubrick, on 02/11/2008, -1/+23That should be top of the list. 10 weeks or so of torture!
- slashbot, on 12/04/2007, -1/+22Your session has expired.
Oh noez I broked your comments! - ARR0624, on 12/04/2007, -1/+22I'm glad Pop has it's hold in the music industry. It allows me to listen to great music in peace while all the teenage girls are stuck in an infinite loop of crap.
- Cine, on 12/04/2007, -0/+21The thing is that everyone only remembers the good music from previous decades. The 80s, and probably 70s too, had lots of awful pop singles too - but we've forgotten it, just like we'll all have forgotten about Fergie and Sean Kingston in a couple of years.
And then, the only memories we'll have will be of the good stuff from this decade (because it really does exist) and everything will be okay. Instead we'll be complaining about the state of pop music in the decades of 2010 and 2020. -
