- cassholio, on 10/11/2007, -14/+137I hadn't seen a movie in a very long time that got applauded at the very end like transformers did. (Independence Day comes to mind). Definitely worth another trip to the movie theater.
- misfitpanda, on 10/11/2007, -2/+91ARE YOU LADIESMAN217!!!!
- The1337Dude, on 10/11/2007, -12/+73I've seen it twice. Both audiences applauded when the movie ended. Great movie.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+55Yup, major eye candy and easily in the top 5 best special effects movies
- adml_shake, on 10/11/2007, -8/+56This movie made my inner 80's child squeal like a little school...boy.
- tatltat, on 10/11/2007, -3/+47how the hell do i misspell cough? i feel retarded lol.
- bencefeher, on 10/11/2007, -5/+48Don't forget to watch the few scenes that play during the credits!
- mopemiph, on 10/11/2007, -2/+42Does anybody find it a little weird that "Highest grossing NON-Sequel" is a real category?
- ygrof, on 10/11/2007, -4/+42The movie rocked hardcore, not trying to trash it at all, but did anybody else notice how the size of the transformers kept changing? Like in one scene, Optimus picks up two people in his hand and in the next, his finger is as big as a pair of glasses? I found it amusing.
- Uranium118, on 10/11/2007, -6/+42First movie I'm going to see twice in theater.
- reddevil3, on 10/11/2007, -4/+37Sequel is being written as we speak...
- john2kx, on 10/11/2007, -4/+35Megan Fox is smoking hot in this film.
- maxx77, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24The idiot S7 guys were calling him NBE1. It made perfect sense for him to deliver that line. Also, it was badass when he said it.
- Ukonu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+23As a black man, I can usually take a race based joke. Jazz introducing himself like "What's crackin' bitches" was hilarious in an insulting kind of way. But come on - When you were typing that, did you think it was funny at all?
- nairanvac, on 10/11/2007, -1/+21No, dude, don't. This is a movie you want to save for the theater experience.
- CarlosReyes, on 10/11/2007, -3/+23Very True, I saw it twice. The day it came out I was stuck in the third row from the front, which kind of sucks, but not enough to cripple the experience. I have to say, I live in Puerto Rico, and it was the most fun movie experience i've had. People were actually PUMPED, there was this old lady behind me who was yelling with joy during the first car scene, then the second.. and third.. and, well you get it :P
- kilodelta, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18hahaha. someone complaining about his intelligence being insulted during a movie where 30ft robots beat the ***** out of each other.
- spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -4/+22Squeal like a school, boy! *makes school noises*
- rexrgis, on 10/11/2007, -4/+21You went to see a "stupid over-the-top blockbuster" about big alien robots fighting each other expecting to satiate your intelligence?
- Matri, on 10/11/2007, -3/+20Twice, too.
- mcdaddy1, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18Agreed. The Barricade Vs Bumblebee and Optimus Prime Vs Megatron fights were very lame. Couldn't tell what the hell was happening most of the time.
- The1337Dude, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16We definitely need Soundwave in the sequel.
- chrisbarr, on 10/11/2007, -13/+28I love that after being frozen for 60+ years, Megatron's first words were "I am Megatron!".
How stupid is that? - Cab00se, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14it pays tribute to the outrageous continuity in size in the original 80's cartoon transformers movie!
- skreload, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16Same for me too. It was the first movie I've been to where the audience gave an ovation at the end. Great movie imo.
- KeepSwinging, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15It beat spider-man and aqua man, vinnie chase is going to be bummed
- mj3clark, on 10/11/2007, -6/+19The flick was OK -- a pretty lousy screenplay that was saved by the last 20 mins of action. (why did they move the battle to a densely populated area????) Although the effects were amazing, I actually thought the transformers were overdesigned. Too many grey/brown tiny polygons. Larger panels of color would have made the transformers more recognizable -- there were a few scenes where I had no idea who was fighting who.
- zenbyo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14Damn pirates are taking food out of the studios mouth when you....oh wait...nevermind.
- sanman, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15I really enjoyed the fact that they had the voice of Peter Cullen, the irreplaceable voice of Optimus Prime. That just made it so much better for me. It wouldn't have been the same without him. He *IS* the Autobot leader.
- coopaloop, on 10/11/2007, -7/+19This movie isn't the kind of movie you should go to if you want to be intellectually challenged. That being said, I thought the movie was great. It's a great movie to sit back and watch, and isn't that what summer blockbusters are all about?
- kete00, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12What if your hoping to see the proper spelling of the words "you're" and "then"? What than?
- blorc, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13I love how people get dugg down for disliking the movie. It's good to know that you're not allowed to have a legitimate opinion anymore.
I'm glad you enjoyed the movie for whatever reasons you did, but please don't digg down others (or me) because we didn't like the movie. Sure, it had impressive special effects, but the movie was quite poor (in my opinion) for the following reasons:
1) The plot/story was poor and unbelievable overall. I realize this is a movie about giant robots, but they could have at least come up with something better than a story about an old seaman in the 1900s that finds a giant frozen robot inside a glacier in the arctic circle. When he touches the robots pinky finger, it somehow activates a navigation system, which apparently is designed to shoot information from the robots eyes for no apparent reason. It also happens to pull up the most important/relevant information possible and somehow burn the image into the guy's glasses. I wasn't expecting a Shakespeare play or anything, but they could have put a little more thought into it.
2) The characters, although rendered beautifully, were overall difficult to identify outside of still shots and Bumblebee/Prime in general. The Decepticons were particularly bland. I understand the need for a more "realistic" robotic look, but the appearances should have been more iconic overall so that characters were more easily distinguishable, particularly in regard to my next point, which is...
3) The action sequences were extremely difficult to follow, as usual in a Bay movie, which only further convoluted one's ability to distinguish which robot was which. I don't need to see what a mother and her child see through the windshield of their minivan. I need to see Optimus fighting another Transformer.
4) The story was far too human-centric. Transformers is supposed to be about the Transformers, not about humans. The only human role that's really key to the story is Shia LaBeouf's role. They should have ditched silly and pointless characters like the aussie and black hacker that didn't really do anything important in the movie and spent more time on the Transformers and Shia's relationship with Bumblebee.
5) The Jar-Jar Binks robot was annoying as ***** and pointless.
I simply couldn't enjoy the movie. Again, I think it's great that many of you did, but don't digg people down because they have a different opinion. - kete00, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Dude, my mom's allergic to cats. Much like how you're allergic to the "Shift" key.
- LandStander, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12It did have some cheesy moments but it was still a great action movie, based off of loved childhood characters, and it kept me entertained the whole time....which is what I paid for.
- tatltat, on 10/11/2007, -5/+15It's so tempting to just download it. I know it would ruin the movie but I want to see it so bad. I have to say, Dreamworks has done a great job not letting a DVD version out. *couch* 300 *couch*
- koonchu, on 10/11/2007, -51/+61I was so utterly disappointed in this movie. I spent a good 80% of it wondering what I was looking at during the night fight scenes (oh, was that another transformer head smashing towards the camera again?). I was also bored at the god-awful sitcom-ishness of the early comedy scenes (come on, the Transformers tip-toeing around the Witwicky house???)
AND WHAT WAS UP WITH ALL THOSE GODDAMN MILITARY SCENES? Oh look, ANOTHER radar/monitoring machine! - JangoFett, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10They made out while the autobots watched them, like creepy voyeurs.
- kete00, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10If it's supposed to be meant for kids, then why do they talk about masturbation, and have Bernie Mac call his mom a "bitch"? Any parent that would take a kid younger than 13 shouldn't be a parent, and Michael Bay is a retard for thinking that he made a "kids movie".
- imdandman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9He just transformed the size of his hand.
- ketsugi, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11I'm Batman.
- Puppetfunk, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10...Why is the word Black Copyrighted?
- rstarr, on 10/11/2007, -7/+16Wow...Really?
You can type with your head that far up your ass? How do you even sit at the computer desk? - robbh66, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11Have you ever laughed at something when nobody else is around? Every say something when nobody else is around? Ever curse when driving and nobody else is in the car?
Thought so. - Sep11insidejob, on 10/11/2007, -4/+13I just wished Megan would suck
- RetroRufio, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10good for ebay :)
http://myworld.ebay.com/ladiesman217/ - mattmac24, on 10/11/2007, -25/+33awsome 3d effects, but majorly crappy movie. couldnt they just cut it down to like a 30 min robot fight with all the effects? would be so much better. worst storyline/acting/directing of a movie ever. best 3d effects ever though.
- nartvq, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Haha, I had to look.... There really *is* a LADIESMAN217 on eBay... he hasn't sold anything though...
http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/MemberSearchResult?userid=LADIESMAN217 - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Ok big shot, care to start citing specific scenes where you "wanted to vomit"? I'm not saying this movie was the best out there, but when people just go"it sucks, dunt go c it lol!!!", you're not really changing anybody's opinion on the subject matter, you're being a jackass troll.
- treeromeo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Great movie, but such an advertising bit for General Motors, haha.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Yeah, I missed the one where Starscreamer is shooting out of the atmosphere. I got it the second time I went though.
