It's kind of slow now, so give it some time. - RevJonathan, on 06/30/2008, -36/+236Woah woah woah.
Sean Connery defined the role. There can be no better. I also think Peirce Brosnan was a great Bond, he was just given terrible movies (except Goldeneye).
Craig fits the bill for this newer grittier Bond and does a great job, but no, not the best ever. - gasoline, on 06/30/2008, -1/+141Remember how there were campaigns against Craig?
- darkchild82, on 06/30/2008, -7/+145If anyone wants to see the low-res one: http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/news/first-quantu ...
- diggit83, on 06/30/2008, -5/+137I was worried about him as bond when I first saw him.....but hes turned out to be pretty good.
- Danjak, on 06/30/2008, -1/+114Yeah, he hasn't done enough Bond movies to be labeled best ever. I'll just say that he has the potential to be the best ever. We'll see though. Right now, that mantle is still with Connery. He's the only Bond that has used a woman as a human shield from a sniper shot. That's the kind of ruthless bastard I want to see on the big screen.
- Tyler2tall147, on 06/30/2008, -6/+118Wow, I gotta watch Casino Royale again
- philwalsh, on 06/30/2008, -2/+92Thanks to Daniel Craig (as well as some needed changes in the directing and scripting department) we are finally seeing the Bond movies back to their best. Can't wait!
- Danjak, on 06/30/2008, -2/+71lol... yeah. He showed everyone. Good for him. I have to admit, I was skeptical and maybe even against this casting decision from the beginning. He just looked like a thug - not the traditionally handsome and suave super-agent type we'd grown accustomed to. Little did I know that a "thug" is exactly what the movies needed. He couldn't be more perfect for the role. What's funny is that the books describe Bond as looking a bit like a rogue or a pirate, a serious character that you would NOT want to mess with. Moore and Brosnan are the metrosexual bastardization of that description.
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -11/+75Casino Royale was epic.
- darkein, on 06/30/2008, -3/+66But, without Brosnan - there would be no Goldeneye video game.
- notdatagain, on 06/30/2008, -0/+57I'm not going to lie.
I think that trailer got me a little hot and bothered. - plusminusgurkan, on 06/30/2008, -3/+54"Not available in your country." Bleh.
- adminmatt, on 06/30/2008, -10/+60"Find Bourne..." oops. i mean Bond. my mistake
- SolidSnake24, on 06/30/2008, -4/+52I am really looking forward to this, never was a fan of the old Bond movies but Casino Royale was outstanding!
- dmyers5, on 06/30/2008, -1/+44It's looking good; more of the gritty Bond we saw in Craig's first with what looks to be more action. Rumors were floating around at one point that Quantum of Solace was going to be a much lighter, less serious movie than the first... glad to see those rumors were unfounded.
- Danjak, on 06/30/2008, -5/+42Will it match Goldeneye?? Umm... that movie was terrible. All of the Brosnan Bond movies were terrible. I don't fault Brosnan - he was great - but the scripts were atrocious. That's why the new Bond flicks have stripped this bloated franchise down to the essentials, to fantastic results.
The better question is: Will it match Casino Royale for quality? - ChuckIT, on 06/30/2008, -6/+41damn sent chills down my spin.
- Danjak, on 06/30/2008, -3/+37Moore and Brosnan could have been good, but they were saddled with the Bond silliness that overtook the franchise (the gadgets became so goofy and of such incredibly limited, yet oh-so-perfect deus ex machina application, that they single-handedly dragged down these movies). I agree that Craig is like Dalton and Connery (and Lazenby!) - a lethal killing machine that could believably hold his own in a fight, and then some. As a huge Bond fan, I was almost willing to write this franchise off after the last Brosnan flick, but Casino Royale absolutely blew me away. I can't wait for Quantum of Solace.
- GQCarrick, on 06/30/2008, -5/+35The man who started the Franchise out is the best Bond - Sean Connery.
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -3/+31THANK YOU, the actual submission doesn't get me the trailer at all.
- notdatagain, on 06/30/2008, -3/+31I don't know if I should digg this because others have provided working links, or bury it because the submitter failed to post a good URL.
- jkr801, on 06/30/2008, -4/+31bond girl looks hot unlike maggie crappenhaal in dark knight....which will still be awesome but needs hotter chicks..
- hinchb, on 06/30/2008, -2/+24Translation: I need more mindless action scenes rather than character plots to keep me awake.
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -2/+24Now this is BOND!
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -0/+20The title does make perfect sense. It basically means 'a small measure of consolation'. The movie, considering the content of the trailer, concerns Bond receiving a small measure of consolation for the emotional trauma he suffered in Casino.
It is also a real Fleming title, it comes from one of his short stories, so on that score it is infinitely better than some of the titles dreamed up for the other Bond movies. - mceggy, on 06/30/2008, -9/+29Either doing it wrong or it's localization *****. "We're sorry, the clip you are trying to play is not currently available in your area."
Buried. - iziizi, on 06/30/2008, -0/+19http://pdl.stream.aol.com/aol/us/moviefone/movies/ ...
1080p - SurplusCorn, on 06/30/2008, -4/+23'Sorry, video not available in your area' ***** you AOL...
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -0/+19the image of bond walking over the hill in the suit armed with a silenced UMP just looks so badass, i cannot wait
- ghaltmann, on 06/30/2008, -27/+45Connery is the best. He is the standard by which all bonds are judged. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
- brundlefly76, on 06/30/2008, -5/+22NEVER mention Dalton and Connery in the same breath again.
- MRintheKeys, on 06/30/2008, -0/+17Craig did slide a few funny lines in Casino Royale. Especially when he gets help out by Eva working the defibrillator and he's first words are looking up at her and saying "Are you ok?"
- bonesmile, on 06/30/2008, -0/+17It made my pants tight like in a 80's music video.
- JPamplin, on 06/30/2008, -5/+21Amen, brother. Connery FTW.
- zadadka, on 06/30/2008, -0/+16Same here (UK).
:( - Danjak, on 06/30/2008, -2/+17Agreed. Bruce Wayne should be able to pull hotter than Maggie.
- djcreamy, on 06/30/2008, -3/+18Maybe I'm retarded, my Mom was an alcoholic. There is no trailer on that website.
- GeorgeTuk, on 06/30/2008, -0/+15American Idol came from a British concept. Simon Fuller had the ideal and the original idea was Pop Idol.
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -0/+14Title is fine, if you have the vocabulary required to understand it. It also is a genuine Ian Fleming title, so suck it.
- Frostek, on 06/30/2008, -0/+14Great! James Bond, a quintessentially British film hero, and we can't watch him in the UK!
- punkrockscks, on 06/30/2008, -0/+13badass
- darkchild82, on 06/30/2008, -1/+14Sorry about that... when I submitted it, I swear it was there. I even saw the 480p trailer. Anyway, the direct links to the HD trailers are posted by hoSSo below. It's just one of those posts where something gets taken down after a while for some lame reason. Once again, I'm sorry, I'm usually check before I post something.
- 3leggedHorse, on 06/30/2008, -1/+13What made Casino Royale so good, was it being a darker Bond film. Hopefully the trend continues.
- petecampbell, on 06/30/2008, -0/+12Who's the red-head?
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -1/+13Actually, judging by the actual content of the trailer, one of the main motivating plot points seems to be that he *has not* gotten over 'that chick from the past movie'.
- Abdax, on 06/30/2008, -1/+12I would say that Connery created a Bond so great that every other actor who took the role tried to be Sean Connery, and failed. Because only Sean Connery can be Sean Connery. What I love about Craig is he eschewed the whole Connery Bond, and is doing his own thing.
- seantubridy, on 06/30/2008, -10/+21Daniel Craig. Best. Bond. Ever. Or maybe tied with Sean Connery.
- hexydes, on 06/30/2008, -1/+12To be fair...I would have to say the United States is probably Bond's biggest market. No offense, but it comes down to numbers. You guys need to get a bigger island. ;)
