- BrownieMix, on 04/25/2009, -0/+20it can't be much worse than Dragonball Evolution
- ininfinitum, on 04/25/2009, -2/+17But it has Ali Larter in her underwear!
- PiggtailGirl, on 04/25/2009, -1/+14They called it a work of art? What?
- RadRob, on 04/25/2009, -1/+13Well, surprised to see this on the front page, but glad that someone took the time to write an honest and eloquent review on that Hollywood drivel...
- j035u5, on 04/25/2009, -0/+12Because its well written and humorous. Plus people love to complain almost as much as they love seeing people fail at stuff.
- mikeismyname, on 04/25/2009, -0/+11shocking. i am shocked.
- haydesigner, on 04/25/2009, -1/+11*can't* act.
- geoken, on 04/25/2009, -2/+10Do you live in a frat house and consider 'every guy who every existed' to be your overcompensating room mates?
- felidaeus, on 04/25/2009, -1/+9Save yourself $10.
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Ali+Larter - RavagesOfTime, on 04/25/2009, -0/+7What's especially sad about this movie. A guy as talented as Idris Elba had to do it just to get his name out there post-Stringer Bell.
- theghoul, on 04/25/2009, -1/+8This movie had it wrong from its inception.
Beyonce acting? Dud
Ali fighting over a man? Dud
Copying Fatal Attraction? Dud - carbbomb, on 04/25/2009, -1/+8Umm what about the rest:
"He’s rich, successful, articulate, built like Achilles."
Why are you trying to turn this about race? - jazzmess, on 04/25/2009, -0/+7I enjoyed reading this critique even though I have no plans to see the movie.
However, ever since a certain climactic movie speech, every time I read negative criticism, I hear the voice of Peter O'Toole saying, "In many ways, the work of a critic is easy; we risk very little, yet enjoy a position of those who offer up their work and themselves to our judgment. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so." - geodescent, on 04/25/2009, -1/+7Nothing can be as bad as The Happening. A dude could film himself taking a ***** and it would be better than The Happening.
- Ephilation, on 04/25/2009, -5/+11Ali Larter is NOT HOT!!!!!!!
- Elijah17, on 04/25/2009, -1/+7"comes off as a pretention..."?
What?
Not to sound pretentious, but that is not correct. - mnowack, on 04/25/2009, -2/+7I agree with j035u5 this belongs on the frontpage because it is such a succinct and beautifully written decomposition. This right here is probably the best thing that will come out of Obsessed.
Dugg. - rushiku, on 04/25/2009, -0/+5So does Heroes S01E01, save your money.
- felidaeus, on 04/25/2009, -0/+5Dragonball Evolution is so bad it crosses the line into good by total utter failure.
- JKAL, on 04/25/2009, -1/+5Welcome to Digg, the way it works is by the community voting on the submitted articles, and the more positive votes it gets then it has a better chance of hitting the front page, it's really a simple idea, but there are very complicated calcs involved.
If you want to know more about how EXACTLY it works you should read this
http://digg.com/how - lingyai, on 04/25/2009, -0/+4Oh Stringer Bell how you have fallen.
- painting, on 04/25/2009, -2/+5skinny, no boobs, no butt, with average face = i agree.
- badfish0116, on 04/25/2009, -0/+3Beyonce is the most useless sell out the world has seen in a long time. She does commercials for anything that is offered to her. She will do any movie offered to her and her presence instantly makes the movie horrible. ***** it pisses me off that people still buy her *****. She can't sing either. Why the ***** is she famous?
- felidaeus, on 04/25/2009, -0/+3In other news, 95% of all statistics are made up.
- Ratteler, on 04/25/2009, -2/+5NO! NO! NO! How dare you claim that Hollywood can make anything but a perfect product. We at the MPAA know what this is really about. You're in league with the The Pirate Bay to undermine our ticket sales and stop our manifest destiny of making you pay over and over again to see whatever we tell you to.
Do you think we just through these films together. Our accountants calculated that Beyonce would bring in the Urban viewer, and that she has cross over appeal. Ali Larter has growing name recognition and would bring in the White suburban males, and because its about relationships the females will drag any stragglers.
This should do Dark Knight numbers.
Even though we have no clue why Dark Knight was a success. - brathbun, on 04/25/2009, -0/+3Beyonce...i'm away
- carbbomb, on 04/25/2009, -0/+3Dugg for Jerry O'Connell!!!
Sliders rule! - bknollenberg, on 04/26/2009, -0/+2For how "depthless" the "copout" (not a word) Obsessed is, the movie seems to really have struck some sort of emotional chord with Mack Rawden. I mean, it doesn't make sense that a movie could lack substance entirely, have no plot, basically be drivel, and simultaneously illicit such a rant.
Maybe Mack Rawden is projecting and is actually someones jealous, lunatic, cat-fighting assistant. I don't know. Either way Beyoncé is smokin'. - ZoomBoy, on 04/25/2009, -0/+2His face would probably be the same as Wahlbergs during the movie as well.
- fugazied, on 04/25/2009, -1/+3I'd be more dubious about Ali Larter. Terrible.
- ru1dt, on 04/26/2009, -0/+2to be fair, I doubt many people called Gordon Gecko "articulate" in reviews for Wall Street
Complimenting someone on being articulate is pretty useless, anyway, since most people should've been speaking their language long enough to get it right. It's like praising someone for walking well. - burketo, on 04/25/2009, -0/+2Is that from ratatouille?
- wing05, on 04/25/2009, -0/+2Brilliant Ratteler.
Whoever dug you down should take a sarcasm pill. - inactive, on 04/25/2009, -1/+3...says the man gracing GQ every other month.
- estacado, on 04/25/2009, -0/+2You know you won't last even 1 day with comments like that.
- jazzmess, on 04/25/2009, -0/+2The thing is, If someone offerred me millions to be in a movie, I'd take it. I don't think there are many people that wouldn't. It's clear the main reason she gets offers for anything is because she's gorgeous. But I can't really call her a sellout for that... a sellout is someone with genuine talent who agrees to be in terrible movie. Because that person is cashing in rather than staying true to their art. If you don't have any talent, there's nothing to stay true to. You've just won some sort of lottery and you're going to keep riding it until they kick you off.
- kdmkdmkdm, on 04/25/2009, -0/+2Pixar always makes great movies.
- keviniskool, on 04/25/2009, -0/+2Dragonball Evolution is like domestic abuse. It is so bad, after a while, you manage to convince yourself that it is only for the best. It's essentially Stockholm Syndrome: The Movie.
- estacado, on 04/25/2009, -1/+3I'm there!
- markusfarkus, on 04/27/2009, -0/+2Because that's been the long-standing compliment for black people from white people, as if it's an achievement for them to be articulate.
- DrCyclops, on 04/26/2009, -0/+2Omar y'all! Omar! Here come Omar!
- jcroisant4, on 04/25/2009, -0/+2Probably the best thing about this movie is going to be this review. Holy crap. If I was the writer for this movie I would probably cry.
- Tearlock, on 04/26/2009, -0/+1I think it's becoming apparent that Beyonce/film = Madonna/film. She's too hell-bent on becoming an all-star to realize that she just doesn't have the chops. Remembering back to her sickening monologue at the grammies a year or two ago where she basically listed off the greatest female R&B icons of the last half-century and how she had the best aspects of all of them, that women is not lacking a bloated ego in the slightest.
- DrCyclops, on 04/26/2009, -0/+1No one will ever be able to convince me that "Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo" is more valuable to human culture than Roger Ebert's scathing review of it.
http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic ... - Maxwell1234, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1Wrong.
- geoken, on 04/25/2009, -1/+2There's a huge difference between looking clean and thinking a specific brand of clothing will do something for you.
- nhdw, on 04/25/2009, -0/+1Dugg for:
"Treading over the same old ground"... - thefatgod, on 04/26/2009, -0/+1what pisses me off is that our theatre has been full of people watching this ***** movie
- Meocross, on 04/25/2009, -0/+1You are seriously not helping
