- blaaguuu, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10or somewhere in between...
- CannedMango, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Wow... you should give this "effect" a name
- dizzoknows, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11Elektra was bland.
The first Fantastic 4 was weak, but the second one was an improvement. I'm not saying that it was great, but it was much better than I thought it was going to be. I like that Doug Jones is getting so much work.
Blade [part one] was WONDERFUL! Finally, a comic-based movie for the proper demographic; adults! With the exception of the handful of slightly tacky moments, I loved the first Blade movie. I won't even comment on two and three, though.
Spiderman one and two were perfect. I don't really even look at them as two movies because they seemed to fit together so well. I loved the character development of Spiderman in the first one. Does it get more fun than watching him learn to use his new powers? The third was a let-down, to say the least. I did like it when was wearing the black suit and being an ***** to everyone.
X-Men one and two were great, the third was atrocious. We all know this.
I really don't understand why people dislike the 2003 Hulk. I feel that it was successful in ways that no other comic-based movie was; it showed what a nightmare having such abilities could be. Additionally, I ADORED Ang Lee's comic book style cuts and transitions. "Die hard, old school" comic book geeks bitch about this on a constant basis. WHY? For a collective people who claim to enjoy the comic book format, they sure do beef about an aspect of that format being well translated to the screen. I felt like I was reading a comic book at more than one point, during the Hulk movie. I can't say that about any of the others. For me, Ang Lee is the only director to actually bring the comic book 'feel' to the screen.
And enough with the 'Hulk looked like ***** in that movie' nonsense. Considering what was being accomplished with CG in 2003, I'd say he looked pretty damned good. Watch the scene where he breaks out of the water tank, then freaks out for a couple of seconds. Do you recall the scene? I tend to refer to it as him 'loosing his *****.' Frustration builds as he breaks free of the contraption and, once out, he vents his anger by screaming and thrashing about. To me, that was the Hulk, just like I remember him.
Well, that was quite the babble. My apologies. - Chameleongoo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9RDJ is the best casting decision for any comic book character so far. Ohhh fanboygasm...

- Mudger, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Looks great.
- rockchops, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3As is the case with all the newer Marvel movies.
- SilentSpyder, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I think a movie like Hellboy was somewhere between.

- gopher043, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I like the fact that RDJ shares some of the things Tony struggled with, substance abuse. I think he will really relate to Tony and the power of being Iron Man.
- griffon2k, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4SFPFC,
Elektra got completely raped by Hollywood, and Spiderman 3 lost some of the franchises freshness (was still good though), I can't agree with you on Hulk, Fantastic 4 or X-Men. Those movies were as faithful to their comic book counterparts as it gets in Hollywood. The problem is, at heart they're still based on comics and as such, there only so real you can make them. Iron Man's cast has the acting chops to make it one of the best Marvel films done yet. If they can just put as much effort into the script as they are with the special effects, it'll do just fine. - stevennutz, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3wow, musta been hosted on a Colecovision :|
- gopher043, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Just as long as he doesn't "drink" jellybeans from a champagne glass.
- gopher043, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The problem with the Hulk was it was just to long. It could have been shortened to make a much tighter movie. all the flashbacks were really unecessary. The only saving grace in that movie was Bana's performance and Jennifer Connelly. Hulk-dogs were terrible. The story was mediocre at best. It just was not a good movie in my book which is just my opinion. I totally respect your opinion dizzo and why you liked teh movie. I just couldn't get over certain things about the movie that made it drawn out. I also totally agree with your opinions on the other movies Blade, Spidey and X-Men.
BTW Iron Man looks like it's gonna rock. - Matri, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Let's not forget that Stark puts himself into the line of fire instead of sending troops he doesn't care to know just so he can say things are "safer" there while sitting on his fat ass in the most heavily-secured building a whole continent away.

- mattdanis, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4I concur.
- davidwasman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2actually that's either Sprite or Perrier
I honestly hope they don't fill the movie with product placement, though. the only movie to handle that right was Waynes World. "little...yellow...different." - smacksaw, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I never thought it would happen but I'm buying Robert Morton Downers Jr as Tony Stark.
- Beatmiser, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4I don't know why people get so uppity about comic movies being good/bad/ugly. They are from pulp serials designed for teenage boys. Yes some have a superb level of depth, but let's be honest. Source material isn't exactly Plato. So sit back and enjoy. Eat some popcorn. If you want depth, it's out there, but don't expect it to be derived from the glossy color of men and women in spandex. For this picture, all I can say... looks like fun!
- mikelieman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Tony Stark *is* a douchebag.
- g30ph, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I hope the Hulk smashes Iron Man into small, bloody, fascist pieces. Scumbag.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1For a second I read that AS RJD, as in Ronnie James Dio, and was close to fanboygasm.
- Yurkshat, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Oh how many coins I shoved into that machine.
"Blue Archer is about to die!" - Destinatus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1But then how will we ever know that one man can make a difference!?
- maxabazillion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Robert Downey Jr should play the Prince of Persia.
- Gamb10r, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Product place all they want just don't show Stan Lee.
- shadowsurfr1, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Welcome to Digg.

- Th0rus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Looks sweet, cant wait for this movie.
- BuddyDoQ, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Why? The potential for ultimate moving going badassedness of comic book movies can only be rivaled by a theatrical double feature re-release of Aliens and T2. That's right, BACK TO BACK.
Anything less, given the potential, is a waste of time and an insult to the source material. - Stratochief66, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1How did you like the second F4 movie better? I mean, it is like comparing a bland plot hole filled mess with a more expensive scientifically inaccurate plot hole riddled mess.
I'm going to cross reference my foot up your ass!! - Buzzby, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1They will probably just coat him with chrome or something...
- unfinity, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I certainly hope you realize that Robert Downey Jr is about to zap-it-up. Zap-it-up, zap-it-up, repulsor rays, Iron Man.
- Philbert, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1The thing is that a comic book that's cheesy can be enough to satisfy a teenager, but those teenagers have grown up now and expect something more. Just like watching an 80's Transformers cartoon now, it looked great to a kid back then, but watching it now it looks pretty bad.
- Rikushix, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1doesn't look like duggmirror even caught it.
- yujie, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I thought he was a man in a armor suit not a cyborg. His hand looks kind of cyborg-ish
- FarCrowd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I love Marvel comics, I like Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. better not be making another Daredevil.
BTW...X3 did not suck! - Syric, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0"remember arnold as iceman or jim carey as the joker wtf were they thinking."
