;) - chrisgnv, on 08/28/2008, -0/+5The first movie didn't totally suck. It's average rating on Yahoo! Movies from the critics is a B- and from users an A-. Personally, I thought it was entertaining as hell, brought back old memories of childhood Transformers series, had amazing special effects and action, plus it was pretty damn funny. Michael Bay really isn't that bad, although I thought his version of Texas Chainsaw and Pearl Harbor sucked huge balls. The Island and Amityville Horror were pretty good, and Bad Boys I and II were awesome for what they were.

That's the formula for Michael Bay and it's good enough to entertain the average people. I thought it was an okay movie.

The movie was entertaining and I loved the spectacle. Those are my main beef points that I felt took away from the logic of the movie that it tried to create.
I usually like Anthony Anderson (the computer guy) but he just wasn't a believable 'hacker' type. When he just kind of disappeared, I felt that they really didn't need him in the first place.
Same with the Australian girl. She didn't need to be in the helicopter en route to the dam and they could have left her in the first half of the movie, identify that it wasn't an Earth based signal and be done with it.
After Blackout destroyed a well armed army base, why on earth would Americas finest put an unarmed civilian populace in danger with all known alien life forms that are malevolent?
