I'd say the biggest factor in the decision to make this into a movie, besides the fan base, would be the box office profitability and position in the public eye that Michael Cerra is in right now. Juno and Superbad were both big hits at the box office, and the strong material laying untapped in this show probably made a lot of sense for a new Michael Cerra project.

    You like [my fellow Bramptonian] Michael Cera in Juno or Superbad? He's at his best in Arrested Development.

    It's just... one of the smartest comedies on TV. On par with 30 Rock, Scrubs, Extras and The Office (US and UK).

    Give it a chance if you haven't, so you can get hooked like us. Let's pull a Family Guy and Futurama here.

But having it come out 3+years afterthe show went off the air, more if the writers strike continues for much longer can't possibly be a good idea.

AD never inserted a punchline that wasn't funny instead the lack of laugh tracks and characters obliviousness to the joke at hand kept my attention and pulled me in every episode. I can't wait for a movie. Horray for AD!!!
