- dbldn, on 06/18/2008, -4/+88Without including international box office and DVD sales this chart isn't remotely correct. However, dugg for a picture of Michael Keaton - that dude IS Batman.
- serif69, on 06/18/2008, -3/+74I don't know about this. The last thing I bought by TDK was a pack of blank cassettes.
- blackbeardtron, on 06/18/2008, -0/+50So wait a minute... if you make a *****, ***** movie (Schumaker films), it won't make as much money... but if you make a freaking awesome movie (Batman Begins), you'll make MORE money?
Who'd have thought? - jjpertusch, on 06/18/2008, -0/+38its funny now, because when Keaton was announced as Batman everyone was like "WTF", but it was the 80s so people were more like "this is bogus"
- cyberkode, on 06/18/2008, -0/+32What about Adam West, and the 1966 film? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060153/
Adam West IS Batman. - inactive, on 06/18/2008, -4/+31Multiplicity?

- frepnog, on 06/18/2008, -1/+24no, it really wasn't hard to beat it.
Batman Begins is FAR better, and I have a feeling that TDK will DESTROY it. - inactive, on 06/18/2008, -2/+23you're ***** up my comment
- diggit08, on 06/18/2008, -0/+20Garbage statistics adjusted with inflation not taking into consideration product placements, dvd sales, royalties, after market sales, foreign markets.
Yea, the movies cost more. Yea, the actors get paid more. But now sales are made on dvd, iTunes, digital downloads, foreign sales. - Shivetya, on 06/18/2008, -4/+23I agree, Keaton was the perfect Batman.
- spidoman, on 06/18/2008, -4/+23He was the perfect Bruce Wayne, Bale is the better Batman.

- cambob76, on 06/18/2008, -7/+20It's hard to beat Batman 1989. That movie is a classic, anyway you slice it.
- donkevin, on 06/18/2008, -4/+17Adam West IS the mayor of Quahog.
I fixed it for you. - praisethelard, on 06/18/2008, -1/+11Indeed. I still believe his portrayal as Batman was the best.
- monkeyrun, on 06/18/2008, -1/+11What can you say, Michael Keaton is Batman!
- MrZaiko, on 06/18/2008, -1/+11I went to the theaters for both of Keaton's Batman, I liked the realness added to the character.
The rest were too colorful and cartoony... Bale has done an amazing job Reviving the Franchise.
I dont care which movie hes in. I still see that Psycho look from American Psycho.
Also, Its hard to make the same profit the old Batman did. Movies cost way more now, and there is more than triple the competition of action/comic movies now than in 1989... Think about it - hipnerd, on 06/18/2008, -0/+10The fact that the later installments of the franchise sucked goat balls might have to factor in there as well. Budget problems didn't sink "Batman and Robin." Nipples on the Bat-suit did.
- josereyes0, on 06/18/2008, -0/+10But he loves his taffy.
- fishrjv, on 06/18/2008, -1/+11How much is Bale making for The Dark Knight?
- erichw1504, on 06/18/2008, -2/+12TDK will blow all previous Batman films out of their socks.
- SketchaMPM, on 06/18/2008, -0/+9You should see Batman Begins.
- bjs3171, on 06/18/2008, -5/+14i kinda liked multiplicity
::ducks::
seriously, though, he's one of the better character actors out there. - omnicore, on 06/18/2008, -0/+9Adam West is Batman!
- Peck3277, on 06/18/2008, -2/+12Christian Bale is awesome!
- praisethelard, on 06/18/2008, -0/+8No, I am Batman! *flaps straightjacket*
- NRay7882, on 06/18/2008, -1/+10He took his 618% profits, and bought hookers and blow, of course.
- redlantern64, on 06/18/2008, -1/+9Ummm...no. I think Michael Keaton was the best Batman because Batman/Bruce Wayne is an mentally disturbed individual who manifests that insanity in a relatively positive way. And no one portrays subtle insanity better than Michael Keaton. Except for Jack Nicholson, but he couldn't do both roles.
- inactive, on 06/18/2008, -1/+9you're watching it wrong
- ivosilva, on 06/18/2008, -2/+10And I think the point of having a "Reply" button is to, I don't know, make replies?
- deadlift, on 06/18/2008, -1/+9Source? I call BS
- ShadyG, on 06/18/2008, -0/+7That's kind of funny. Watch Beetlejuice and tell me Keaton couldn't have done the Joker. Hmm...
- kraftj, on 06/18/2008, -0/+7George Clooney = Worst Batman Ever.
- opensourcer, on 06/18/2008, -1/+8Can anyone give a little cred to Director Tim Burton? Burton and Keaton are a great team. Two Batmen and a Robin later, I'm glad that they rebounded with Bale as Batman. But Keaton is still on top.
- SketchaMPM, on 06/18/2008, -0/+7Batman? The comic that has been incredibly successful and loved for over 50 years? The comic that spawned several hit series and some of the biggest films of all time? What the hell are you smoking??
- timalmond, on 06/18/2008, -1/+8The thing is that this doesn't reflect how the success of a movie doesn't always show on itself, but on its sequels. Batman Forever had a lot of goodwill because of the strength of the 1st 2 films. BB came after a couple of quite sucky Batman films and fought to get people to see it. Those who saw it loved it and probably told their friends and those people will see Dark Knight.
Incidentally, I think that Bale is probably the best Batman so far. - bradleyland, on 06/18/2008, -1/+8It pains me to even read the title 'Batman and Robin'.
- Harabeck, on 06/18/2008, -1/+9What choice do they have? Bring him back played by an inferior actor?
- Gggarth, on 06/18/2008, -0/+6And Joel Schumacher. And the horrible puns. And (I hope) the fact that it was an awful movie.
- inactive, on 06/18/2008, -1/+8Thank you sir!
- belgar, on 06/18/2008, -3/+10I like pizza.
