After talking to Jon Favreau in person, I can tell that he has a firm grasp on how seriously fans take this sort of thing. And because of that he has made what is shaping up to be one of the better comic book adaptations yet. Downey Jr. is perfectly cast, the suit looks great and the entire cast has a real passion for the material. If there is any flick in 2008 that is going to rain The Dark Knight's parade, this will be it.

    I don't mean to rub these posters' noses in their own comment feces. Quite the contrary... I was excited about Spider-Man 3, too. But recent comic-book movie history has made me extremely jaded.
  • sanman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That trailer I saw online was eye-popping. I can't say enough good things about it. The comicbook-reading generation is finally grown up and making movies. Iron Man always stood out to me from other superheroes when I was a kid, because he's a modern, contemporary, tech-based superhero and a self-made man. His armor and repulsor weapons always fascinated me more than what the other superheroes had, because they were just so awesome. Dammit, I hope we get to see some cool repulsor beam action in the movie!

  • mackaltman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0I can't say that I am pleased about who will be playing Stark (Robert Downey Jr). In my opinion, the actor is underrated for this part. He fits the psychotic and manipulative characters that he's played in movies of his past, but definitely not the hard, rooted character known as "The Iron Man."
