U have to see it,really hot video!!! - daeyeth, on 02/15/2008, -5/+32At first I was a little "meh" at this since we've already been through 3 X-Men movies and, while they were decent popcorn flicks, that's all they were. However, that was before I read that it's being directed by the same guy that did Tsotsi & Rendition (both excellent movies above the standard Hollywood fare), and written by the same guy that wrote Kite Runner and Spike Lee's 25th Hour (certainly not who I expected for this type of movie, a very intriguing choice)
Plus, the best moments of the X-Men movies were always when Wolvie tore a new hole in everyone :) - PresidentSoup, on 02/15/2008, -3/+26Needs moar deadpool
- dawgma, on 02/15/2008, -4/+24Did you know that his powers extend beyond powering up playing cards? His ability is to charge up *any* object he touches with a great deal of kinetic energy. He just likes to use cards because they're easy to carry and effectively do just as much damage as anything else he can throw. He's a pretty kick ass mutant.
- jjpertusch, on 02/15/2008, -2/+20i love this.
you can tell who read the comics vs who just watched the cartoon based solely on whether or not they like gambit. - paulg2000, on 02/15/2008, -6/+22Hugh's jacked, man.
- macbeth73, on 02/15/2008, -3/+18I agree, Gambit's the man!
- 1807, on 02/15/2008, -0/+15In a word...YES! because GAMBIT had NOTHING to do with Wolverine's Origin.
- WarMachineWCLH, on 02/15/2008, -0/+14It's probably not a good idea, most of his love interests end up dead quickly.
- zigspective, on 02/15/2008, -2/+16As long as Ratner isn't within a 50 mile radius of production, I'm looking forward to it.
- o0joshua0o, on 02/15/2008, -1/+15Do you think they can make this as good as X3? Imagine all the pressure of having to live up to that high standard.
- freshyill, on 02/15/2008, -0/+11If by bad ass, you mean "exactly the same as he always looked," then yes, he sure does look bad ass.
- RonPaulSucks21, on 02/15/2008, -3/+13Shut the ***** up about Gambit. You idiots bitched to no end about Venom and look what happened.
- inactive, on 02/15/2008, -0/+10I just want to see magneto rip wolverine's metal skeleton out of his body in real life...just once!
- Bulletbillx, on 02/15/2008, -0/+10Deadpool deserves his own movie.
- mwalker05, on 02/15/2008, -1/+11fun wolverine fact: the claws did not come from grafting the adamantium to his body. they are part of his mutation and are actually bones. After his skeleton was infused with the adamantium, his claws took the form they have now.
- Spartan225, on 02/15/2008, -1/+10I agree that I would rather see Deadpool than Gambit. Gambit and Wolverine didn't meet up until the X-Men so I do not know why he would be in this movie, except in passing.
Also looks like they went with the more traditional look of the claws. Coming out of the top of his hands, instead of between the knuckles in the past X-Men movies. - iucraigmc, on 02/15/2008, -1/+10*snikt*
- Synn, on 02/15/2008, -0/+8I'd like to pretend X3 never happened.
- mablung, on 02/15/2008, -0/+8Why was he dugg down? Gambit has absolutely nothing to do with Wolverines origin. If they were making another Xmen movie then yeah bring on Gambit. Otherwise he has no relevance to this movie.
- remyD, on 02/15/2008, -2/+10So? The cartoon was awesome. Does having read the comics make one more eligible to decide what characters should be in the movie?
- KingGorilla, on 02/15/2008, -1/+9I solely watched the cartoon I think he's pretty bad ass
- mlvassallo, on 02/15/2008, -1/+8Holy ***** god- the guy who is doing the screenplay is also listed as doing the Ender's Game screenplay... !!!
- inactive, on 02/15/2008, -1/+8LURK MOAR.......
- Ford_Prefect2nd, on 02/15/2008, -0/+7Its possible, he was in Weapon-X and they mentioned cameos... though the time frame is off.
- inactive, on 02/15/2008, -0/+7Actually they're real cybernetic implants. Hugh really becomes the role this time around.
- ispellkonfusion, on 02/15/2008, -1/+7Oh the things I would do to Wolverine...
- trivialmaggot, on 02/15/2008, -0/+5and don't forget everyone's favorite *****-superhero, Deadpool!
after all, he was Weapon X too. - WarMachineWCLH, on 02/15/2008, -1/+6No, http://www.mulletman.org/images/claws1.jpg care of http://www.mulletman.org/props.html
- jonshipman, on 02/15/2008, -1/+5Defintely. Seen Gambit grab a guys head and make it asplode? Kick ass
- EvolutionTheory, on 02/15/2008, -3/+7Those claws look terrible. Obvious CG :(
- alpharaptor, on 02/15/2008, -0/+4all we need is wade wilson to look into the camera and say "thank god i'm not directed by bryan singer". it would make my day to see a live action deadpool break the fourth wall.
- cgrickard, on 02/15/2008, -0/+4lets glue some knives to his skin.......these claws looks pretty tacky.
- Synn, on 02/15/2008, -1/+5Did you even see the X-Men movies?
- as9332, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3Gambit is cool and all but Wolverine has one of the most complex story in the X-Men universe with the whole weapon X and his Pre-Xmen stories.
Hopefully this will turn out to be a good movie. - josegutz, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3Hugh Jackman is a pornstars name... FANTASTIC!
- MTessa, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3X-men movies were always great crossovers. I admit they weren't intellectually challenging but entertaining. I think that's the most they were striving for. Personally I think they had great casting as well. What guy isn't happy with the female choices and I'm pretty sure the women were ...let's just say I believe the girls were good with the guys. My favorite was Wolverine.
- Unlgued, on 02/15/2008, -1/+4I agree that he's a little too polished, slender, and tall, but he's done a bang-up job of acting in the past.
- mediaspree, on 02/15/2008, -1/+4Are those claws CG?
- MiDri, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3As long as he has his bear.
- FluentinSarcasm, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3Now if metal dildos popped out of his hands then I would agree with this statement.
- razor150, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3Yeah, it was retconned in. Wolverine originally didn't have any claws. I remember a lot of people get pissed off when that change happened.
- alpharaptor, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3he could narrate using those lovely yellow boxes he's so fond of and make wisecracks to the audience.
- BobsYourUncle, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3I thought that was retconned in? Please correct if I'm wrong, but I thought the original character just had the healing 'power'.
- badtz, on 02/15/2008, -1/+3Hugh Jackman = HOT :)
- mwalker05, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2yea. gambit actually has one of the shallowest stories of the xmen. i think we just like his cajun accent and deck of cards in the cartoons. (plus he was totally nailing rogue)
- 1807, on 02/15/2008, -1/+3I for one am very excited about this film. Wolverine is probably one of my favorite characters in the Marvel Universe and despite him not looking EXACTLY like the comic book character (imagine that!) I still believe it will be a good film. Yes the last movie was awful, but I have a good feeling about this. Not to compare it to Indiana Jones IV, but I have been looking forward to this movie for a while now. Oh and putting Deadpool and Gambit in the movie would stink of X-men 3 in my humble opinion. You get too many characters in a film and it just F's things up a'la Spiderman 3.
- mwalker05, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2swordfish?
