- kennyGS13, on 10/12/2007, -4/+54in the ultimate spider-man comics
- DCWhite612, on 10/12/2007, -10/+58Johney Depp Pirates or boobies pirates?
- Kericr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+38Seriously, didn't comicbook fanboys do the same thing when Tobey McGuire was cast as Spider-Man?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+46since when did eddie brock weigh under 100 lbs?
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -7/+38I hate you then.
- TheNik, on 10/12/2007, -5/+32I think Topher Grace is getting a lot of negative buzz around the internet for his role as Eddie Brock. It's my opinion that he will do wonderful - if you've ever read any of the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, you know how he looks and acts, which is a lot like I think Topher Grace can pull off. :O
In other news: Awesome. - JinxedSoul, on 10/12/2007, -8/+34Pirates Porn was awesome :P
- MarkCiccone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19***** wrong link, here it is!
http://aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=23949 - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21Exactly, it's the face that'll be interesting to see (and a fully rendered, non-goo-phase shot of the body)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Wait, what the hell? You're saying that this picture is somehow altered with image-editing computer software!?!? Oh my God, I totally see it now! And here I was, thinking that they poured unprocessed petroleum and food coloring dye on the actor's head! But, gosh, you're saying this picture might, at least in part, be... computer-generated!?
- oOLiquidNightOo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17i'm waiting for some cgi wild waggling tongue action before i comment.
- spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14I bet Osbourne either gets cured, and isn't crazy anymore, or Venom kills him. Venom killing Osbourne would be freakin' awesome. I really hope that they stick close to what classic venom looks like. And I really hope that there is a bit of spider-man vs. venom in the 3rd, and not just give us the most painful cliff hanger ever. like last scene a shot of venom for the first time. I have literally had nightmares that they show venom for like 15 seconds and then go to credits.
- motang, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Spider Man 1 & 2 are good movies. But adding Venom into the mix will just make it so much better. Venom is the *****.
- complexigon, on 10/12/2007, -8/+17Either way, they are both pretty good movies.
- da_bradler, on 10/12/2007, -14/+23ummm that's not venom that's just the symbiote on parker, Brock is venom that's like calling someone who gets ahold of spider mans suit spiderman just cause he's wearing it.
- LordofChaosIori, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Yeah, Venom isn't Venom without the huge teeth and massive tongue, but if you look closely at the picture you can see his teeth are beginning to grow. The only thing I'm worried about is that the bottom part of the suit looks very similar to how it looks on Spider-man, and that's not very Venom-ish... :(
- venom8599, on 10/12/2007, -8/+16Thank you.

http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/spiderman3/site/downloads/wallpapers/wallpaper3_1024.html - Turbiville, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10So does this mean I should sell my Spiderman #298 with Venoms 1st cameo...holy *****, did I really just say that? I am a father for christ sake...
- StickyShoez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7You know Osborn will fight Spider-man at first, but then team up in the end to help defeat Venom. That is quite apparent. Also I think that Osborn will be (Heroically) killed off at the end.
- dSlifer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6haha, amazing!
Agreed though, Venom was awesome in the series - LordofChaosIori, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Yeah, he becomes the Green Goblin 2. If you watch the trailer closely you can see him.
- w33t, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Your error was repeating what had already been stated. Since there is no "redundant" rating you simply received negatives (and of course everyone expects you to figure this out yourself).
That's digg culture for you: once a modding curve starts (positive or negative), it builds gravity and attracts like ratings. - thenewmadmax, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8thank you! topher grace is way too small! need someone more like Thomas F. Wilson...but younger nowadays
"HEY! MCFLY??" - Langford, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7This movie looks like it's going to be pretty cool. I am a little curious however, about what they will do about Osborn. He's been vowing revenge for a while now; Is that going to be covered in this film too? That is what they set-up at the end of the last movie.
- defectDS, on 10/12/2007, -11/+16BOOBIES PIRATES FTW!

Don't kill the messenger. - dieinafire, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11i know! eddie brock, both in the comics (which i vaguely remember seeing a pic of) and the spiderman cartoon from a few years ago, was built. i'm talking standard comic buff guy. when they announced "thats 70's show" guy was playing him, i thought, "gee, how is he gonna double his body weight in time? does he have barry bonds on speed dial?" but apparently they're making brock feeble... ugh...
- cambrown99, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Sam Raimi has done Spidey right on the big screen. He's hit exactly the right balance between being true to the comic and being creative enough to make it believable with real live human beings. Thank you Mr. Raimi for bringing my favorite hero to life.
- da_bradler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3maybe osborn will fight spider man kick his ass then spidey gets the symbiote and kills or really pwns osborn, and then gets rid of the suit then has to deal with venom after brock gets ahold of it? you just know spiderman with the symbiote is either going to come close or actually kill someone, most likely someone important
- xmpcray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hi res picture of Harry Osbourne in his new Avatar (he is not playing Green Goblin II as per Sam Raimi...but is not revealing what...)
http://www.shorttext.com/utkbu - Kardde, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wrong. That's Topher Grace (Brock/Venom/Eric Foreman), not Tobey Maguire (Parker/Spidey).
- bennyboy371, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Quicktime Alternative.

- sark666, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Look don't mention ultimate spiderman stuff. This is how venom looks god damn it.

Now, I'm not a real stickler about you have to do stuff exactly like the comics or it's blasphemy, but jesus ***** christ Topher from 70's show!?
Not only is he a rake, even though he's like 28 he still looks like someone who's on the last leg of puberty and his voice sounds like it's still finishing changing. The worst choice ever for eddie brock venom. I thought about who I'd cast and not many actors fit the bill, but I thought of that guy from remember the titans, the captain of the football team. Hell he practically looks like brock already.
And no it's not the same thing as choosing tobey for spiderman. Tobey is a perfect peter parker. He's supposed to be a little geeky guy still in college. Tobey fit's that. I know the angle they are going for, Topher is supposed to be an evil mirror image of him. But that's not what venom was in the comics. Again not being a stickler but the angle they have choose sucks. Never mind throw in as many bad guys as possible. - reddevil3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I am a bit worried how they are going to handle so many villains. Sandman, Green Goblin and Venom have been confirmed, and I read something about Avi Arad saying that there's a 4th villain.
The movie is looking great, but I was seriously hoping they would use Venom mostly for the 4th one. - MarkCiccone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3http://digg.com/movies/First_look_at_Venom_from_Spider_Man_3
Ain't It Cool has a summary of the trailer that played at Comic Con if you want to read! Includes what Venom looks like - full symbiate! - golddigga, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3http://images.apple.com/movies/sony_pictures/spider-man_3/spider-man_3-tsr_h1080p.mov
HD 1080p Teaser Trailer - graizur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Here is how I rationalize it. Spider-man has a boys frame. Even today in comics though he is an adult, when compared to other heroes, he is boyish. In fiction it is assumed that most of the time there will be a character who it's audience can relate to. An every man. Well it turns out in comics that the audience are mostly young boys so Spider-man is , short, skinny, quippy super-hyper character. Spider man isn't everyman, he is everyboy. Now in comics the anti-spider man, the anti-everyboy is big brawny and, instead of 2 main bright colors, blue and red, is instead two plain colors. Black and white. Venom is like the antagonist, an anti-boy. And what is a perfect anti-boy. A man. And so, Venom is VISUALLY (In the comics) mannish in order to contrast Spider-mans boyishness.
HOWEVER, in the movies, the audience is not mostly young boys but EVERYONE. Men, Women and Children.
And so VISUALLY Venom, the ANTI-Spider-man has to some how relate that in a new way, for that new audience. If Venom was bigger and muscular his anti-ness might get lost and confused. If his suit was a different style, again his anti-ness might get confused.
Hence a drab grey suit and a skinny, Spider-man like body. Hence Topher Grace, the anti-Peter Parker (who is not so boyish any more).
I could explain this better, if any one agrees (or even disagrees) could you help me explain it if you understand what I am trying to say? - yahoofrom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Too many villains in the upcoming Spiderman 3.
Venom, Goblin, Sandman, and Spiderman himself. - hugznotthugzkid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Regarding Harry Osborn. Riami said he is NOT Green Goblin II and he is NOT Hobgoblin, but something else." Source: http://aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=23949
I understand Harry not being Hobgoblin, since Donovan was the first Hobgoblin and then Kingsley, but Harry not being Green Goblin II is kind of puzzling, also if you check out this screen capture Harry is not wearing the full suit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:GG2.jpg - BradDollar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@da_bradler
That doesn't appear to be Tobey Maguire to me. The hair is all wrong for it. I mean I could be wrong, maybe the webslinger gets a new hair cut before getting the symbiote and then reverts back after wards? - cyrix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I honestly think Venom will play a prominent role in this movie. Sandman is supposedly not as "evil" as many of us would think. One of the posters of him shows him holding back a little girl in a 'protective' manner of sorts. Plus there was a short snippet from the Comic Con panel where they said:
"Raimi played around a bit with Church, but said something very heartfelt and genuine. He said that Church brought a very real amount of humanity to the role of Sandman. He's not just your typical villain in this movie."
I mean I really can't see him protecting her from Spiderman, nor could I see him protecting her from Harry either since Harry has only one goal (it seems) in this movie, and that's to get Peter. My wild guess is that Sandman and Spidey are forced to team up to some degree to try and destroy Venom and Sandman will die during this. -
