- sjbdallas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+45FTA: "no one is going to rush to see Transformers at IMAX so they can hear the conversations more clearly"
True, but I will rush to see more footage of Megan Fox. - andrewcsayer, on 10/10/2007, -6/+28Transfomers - More than meets the imax
- Scopitone, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20Wait, extended cut? Wow. Let's hope they elaborate on the X-Box 360 bot or Mountain Dew machine. What's their backstory? What's their motivation? What makes them want to transform? What does it mean to be a robot in disguise and be....more than meets the eye?
- kenvsryu, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20megan fox all big and stuff. skeet.
- bagboyrebel, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18IMAX has never meant 3D, it has always meant giant screen.
- danwallace, on 10/10/2007, -5/+16Oh dude, you just reminded me, I have to get to work on a Top 10 Lamest ***** Things To Say Ever list. Cheers!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12Extended? That movie is already way too ***** long.
- Ajajadude, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Well, if I were the 360-bot, I'd be pissed I was built out of defective hardware, and if I were the Dew-bot, I'd be tired of everyone treating me like a cheap whore.
- ViktorVaughn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9They gave him an audition but his voice had deteriorated due to age.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418279/trivia
"Producer Don Murphy decided, after listening to feedback from Transformers fans, to use the voices from the "Transformers" (1984) (and its spin-off The Transformers: The Movie (1986)). Veteran voice actors Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, who provided the voices for the iconic Transformer leaders Optimus Prime (Cullen) and Megatron (Welker), were auditioned personally by director Michael Bay, who feared that their aged voices would be noticeable. Cullen was confirmed to reprise his role, but Welker's voice had aged too much and besides didn't suit Megatron's new alien look, and so Hugo Weaving took the role of Megatron. However, Welker reprises his role as Megatron in Transformers: The Game (2007) (VG)." - zzz@tkz, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8At the end.
- YourTechSupport, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Obligatory "We Digg Giant Robots".
And.. "We Digg Megan Fox in IMAX" - nakile, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5They fixed the two hour limitation problem. I have no idea how long a film can be now.
- Scopitone, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5No, imagine how great Megan Fox will look! Sort out your damn priorities.
- theboozer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4IMAX better prepare for the gallons of geekgasms that are going to explode all over that screen. NOTE TO IMAX: INVEST IN TARPAULIN SEAT COVERS.
- D3koy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Dugg for doing your research...
- blurrie, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6michael bay hungry
- manicallday, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6The guy has a point. The script did suck. Like why did they go into the city? Or why was it even necessary to have the stupid hacker seen? Sorry, the effects and the battle scenes were cool but the rest just sucked.
Bury away fanbois. Bury away. - MrTsLoveChild, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I saw it on an IMAX screen in the original release. it wasn't shot on 70mm film, so they're just blowing up a regular movie to IMAX dimensions.
in short, it looked like poop mixed with baby vomit. - jaypee68, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8It would probably make me puke. If a movie wasn't shot for IMAX from the beginning, intense action sequences can really mess with your head and quite possibly make you dizzy. I saw Attack of the Clones in IMAX format once, and all the quick back and forth action was just too much, there was never enough time for my eyes to adjust and refocus going from one side of the screen to the next. I had quite a headache afterwards. Plus I do believe that there is a limit on the size of an IMAX film reel that limits a film to 2 hours. Attack of the Clones was missing scenes that were cut from the original non-IMAX film for just this reason, and I believe that Transformers runs 2 hours 24 minutes so it's hard to see that this is the original theatrical release with additional footage.
- Splitter402, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Michael Bay want eat!
- Ajajadude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It was sarcasm, given he had, what, about one line? At the end?
Which reminds me...how the hell could they NOT use the original voice actor for Megatron in the movie, but they could in the game? - maticus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I laughed when I read comment #3 at the bottom of the article.... poor Sony fanboys. Haha.
- daridave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They wanted to make more footage with that robot, but as soon as it transformed, the ring of death poped up...
- gjunkie, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4We'll totally get dugg down Piznut, but I agree with you. Undoubtedly the worst dialogue i've heard in a long time... and the cute little "funny" scenes were hideous and way too drawn out...
Things like... the dog peeing on the transformer's foot... "uh-oh, that's gonna rust".... *shivers*
Special effects of course were gorgeous. - OAKsider, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1And not just BIG, but optimized for the IMAX with a great audio environment as well.
- elcaminos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think you lose a lot from the edges of the screen as well. Saw one film in an IMAX, never again. Unless it was a documentary shot specifically for imax it is going to look like crap.
- HsoKinees, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1you know.. i'm still waiting for these rumoured extra seasons of Megas XLR :'(
- mousky, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If it doesn't say IMAX Experience after the name of the movie, then all you watched was a 35mm or 70mm print of the movie projected onto the IMAX screen using a regular 35mm or 70mm projector. An IMAX Experience movie is digitally copied and transformed and copied onto IMAX film.
- kete00, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think that it looks like that regardless of what screen you're seeing it on.
- dbr_onix, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Your complaining about a longer sleep?
- in2deep, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Transformers would be awesome in IMAX!
- louiedog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I saw Spider-Man 3 (2:20) and HP 4 (2:37) at my IMAX, so I'm sure the length thing is no longer true.
Also, you have to sit in the very back to avoid the problem you described. I've seen a dozen or more IMAX movies and I've never gotten sick, but if I sit anywhere but in the back few rows I have to look around at the screen. It's not like a typical theater where the best seats are in the middle. - dinobot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I love how in the article, one of the complaints is not about the movie but how the studio decided to drop blu-ray in favor of hd-dvd and how he and other PS3 owners are not happy at all about it
- Akaru, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Actually, the IMAX screen in Times Square KL is only the biggest in Southeast Asia being 21m high and 29m wide.
The one in Sydney apparently is the largest screen in the world, being about 30m high (hence around 41m wide by the same proportions)
(Yes, I googled it, but it's only cause I know the one in Times Square KL is not the biggest) - eurynome420, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1well I'm screwed . . . the closest IMAX to me is about 800 miles away! SCREW EL PASO TEXAS!
- Zippo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Transformers is definitely the kind of movie best enjoyed as big and clear as possible. Hell, I don't even own a hi-def TV or HD disc player (well, yet) and I plan on getting the HD-DVD when it comes out... it'll be worth it down the road when I do.
- Ajajadude, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Did you ever see the show? Huge Transformers fan, but the show wasn't exactly award winning, either. Just good enough to buy the entire series on DVD and watch it over and over again.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4Quality burn. I tip my hat to you sir.
- ataylor32, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3That's what she said
- Clois, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0HOW DARE YOU!!! It was the BEST movie I had ever seen in my entire life!! If anything you suck!! You couldn't make a better movie even if you tried.
- gwhardyiv, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Just when I thought that movie couldn't possibly suck any more...
- champlilmac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0And I thought it looked great on a normal movie screen

- h3llr4z0r, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1actually i watched this on a 25m imax screen in Brisbane (IMAX Southbank). it didn't look too bad. then again i was sitting in the back row. it must have sucked big time for the people sitting up the front though.

Acne Treatment - http://www.easygrooming.com/skincaretips-acne-trea ... - crazyman, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1I can't wait to see 12 cuts a second on the iMAX screen!
- dkstoney, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0I live in asia and IMAX theatres are common here. I visit IMAX theatres at least once a month and I can tell you that not only is the 3D spectacular, but the picture is clear and the audio is state of the art--actually following objects across the screen. It's NOT just a big screen.
- Hermitwise, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1No because it wasn't filmed with those gigantic Imax 3d cameras that weigh like 400 lbs.
