- Super6, on 08/07/2008, -7/+32Darn, and I thought this had something to do with V for Vendetta
- socialpyramid, on 08/06/2008, -0/+25V freaked me out when I saw it on TV back then. I still have that image of the alien ripping his skin off in the chamber burned in my brain...
- phrenzy, on 08/07/2008, -0/+9Unexpectedly seeing Diana unhinge her jaw to eat a huge rat = *****.
- Chaotix, on 08/06/2008, -1/+9HAH! My dad got in SOOO much ***** from my mom for letting me watch the tv series. Awesome to see it again!
- FurryToaster, on 08/07/2008, -1/+7Michael Ironside ftw
- cottonThePirat, on 08/07/2008, -6/+12I loved V, but does every Sci-fi show have to be a modern commentary on the war in Iraq? BSG on new caprica I'm looking at you. Fine Iraq sucks, we get it, we watch sci-fi to escape.
- MrBabyMan, on 08/06/2008, -2/+8This is virtually point-for-point exactly the plot of the miniseries. Not that I'm complaining, I loved the miniseries. I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
- inactive, on 08/07/2008, -9/+14For Vendetta?
- JakeBC, on 08/07/2008, -0/+5I was in love with Jane Badler back in the day. Her and Erin Grey off of Buck Rogers.
- Skooma714, on 08/07/2008, -1/+5They weren't just looking at Iraq when they were doing those episodes and they didn't explicitly sit down and make it a commentary about Iraq.
- DrCrankenstein, on 08/06/2008, -2/+6Very virile viral vouching?
- EarthBoundX5, on 08/07/2008, -0/+4Wasn't V: The Final Battle or whatever the "movie"? I don't remember, its been forever since I've seen any of it. Either way, it was awesome, just hope they don't ***** up anything new like with other sci-fi "remakes" or reintroductions or something.
- Hangly, on 08/07/2008, -0/+4I only remember the scene where Diana swallows the rat. That was 28 years ago.
- phrenzy, on 08/07/2008, -3/+6Scary that more than half of digg does equate "V" with "V for Vendetta" since they weren't even born when it came out.
Time's tide is pulling us down. - soapyfish, on 08/07/2008, -0/+3I thought we watched it for the hot, triple breasted aliens wearing their skimpy space fashions.
- pwnerofnoobs, on 08/07/2008, -0/+3No. V was too good to be ignored. Anyone with common sense would have chosen it as well. If you'd Pick something obscure, like Today's Special and maybe you'd have a case.
- zboyet, on 08/07/2008, -1/+4This makes me hungry for rats!
- pwnerofnoobs, on 08/07/2008, -0/+3No, V for Victory.
- jamessavik, on 08/07/2008, -0/+3***** A
- jasondill, on 08/07/2008, -0/+2I still have the image of the woman giving birth to the alien and the baby flicking his tongue out.... Damn now i'm going to have to sleep with the night light on
- AzraDarkness, on 08/07/2008, -1/+3here mousie mousie...nom nom nom nom!
- WaveRunningNakd, on 08/07/2008, -0/+2all i remember thinking was that diana was hot and could swallow me anyday.
- apothekari, on 08/07/2008, -0/+2Watch V again as I did a few weeks ago, coincidentally , and see if you don't think Independence Day should be ashamed at how much they ripped it off.
BTW I thought it would be really stupid now and I'd find it hadn't aged well but it's amazingly well done and kind of prophetic in a lot of ways with whats happened since 911 the FX haven't held up as well but they get the job done. - MacEnvy, on 08/07/2008, -0/+2Today's Special ... oh man, that takes me back.
"Sound it loud and clearrrrr ... TODAY'S SPECIAL!" - HastyBoom, on 08/07/2008, -2/+4Shut up and put Battlestar Galactica back on.
- Gunsotsu, on 08/07/2008, -0/+2The sad thing is, 90% off Digg has no idea that V is about aliens and not disfigured Brits in masks. Whippersnappers.
- pwnerofnoobs, on 08/07/2008, -1/+3MacEnvy, I have a strong hunch Super6 was refering to the 2005 movie not the comic. Maybe the fact that his profile states his age at 16yrs had something to do with it.
- jaydubnb, on 08/07/2008, -0/+2I have to admit, watching that girl give birth to the alien, reptilian baby was one of the biggest creep put moments of my pre-teen years.
But to the new move - sounds like they're trying to cram a lot into the first movie. The TV show worked because it was so well paced, and I liked the idea of the alien-human hybird wrecking the invaders more than a distress signal sent into space. - infinitus64, on 08/07/2008, -0/+2i was not born yet but i still knew exactly what it was referring to.
- HouseofEl, on 08/07/2008, -0/+2Scared the hell out of me and loved every minute of it. I'm sold on this as long as we get a Marc Singer cameo!
- ObamaWins08, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1I loved "V" the mini-series. It was awesome for its time, and I think it is worth a revisit.
"V" for Vendetta...well, I am glad those of you who liked it did. Nothing says bucking the system and revolution like everyone going around doing the smae dang thing looking like the same dang guy. - wonderbriefs, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1Yeah, it came out the year before I was born. But it must have ran again a couple years later. I remember watching it when I was about 3 years old, and all the traumatizing alien-birth, ripping the face off, etc.
- jamessavik, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1NO, they just regurgitate everything every 20 years or so so most folks don't notice.
- jamessavik, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1>>Hope they don't ***** up the film.
Count on it. - craighoxton, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1I hope so. My favourite character was Ham Tyler - played by Michael "Sam Fisher" Ironside.
- MacEnvy, on 08/07/2008, -2/+3"V for Vendetta" comic first published: 1982
"V" TV series first aired: 1984
You aren't "pwning any noobs" today, pwnerofnoobs. - craighoxton, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1Thank God they haven't done a "re-imagining" job on it.
- wonderbriefs, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1Wait...I thought this came out in 83. I was born in 84 and I'm 24 years old. If Diana swallowed a rat 28 years ago, that's 1980.
- inactive, on 08/07/2008, -2/+3But the best thing about sci-fi to me is the fact that it discusses these issues and it offers solutions. Shows like Stargate scare me when I think about how our enemies (or our own government) come off as being these massive and unstoppable forces, yet they're defeated by intelligence and discussing issues with like-minded individuals.
Science fiction is an escape, and it is hope. - AlistairMorgan, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1Ya i did too, i wish they made a sequel or a prequel...
- slyzxx, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1God i hated this show esp when the chick was pregnant with the thing and came out her damn belly YUChh still gives me the creeps.
- shady1630, on 08/07/2008, -0/+10/10
- inactive, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1Vuck!
- prisoner24601, on 08/07/2008, -1/+2I just remember that the ending was PATHETIC! I watched hours of it over HOW MANY DAYS?!?! (Back with no TiVo kids! The horror! We actually "tuned in" at 8:00 to see this!) and got to "maybe some reverse-SETI sort of SOS will reach someone out there and they'll come help us" as the last scene?!? Where was the galactic payback with some sort of space marines with neutron bazookas or something putting the hurt on lizard boy?!
I was ripped off then and I've been waiting decades for someone to open up a can on those scaly invaders so I'd better see a major smackdown this time around! You've left us hanging for like 30 years here guys! - chuckDontSurf, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1The chick swallowing the guinea pig still freaks me out.
- mesm0rized, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1Will Robert England have a cameo?
- Kershek, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1There was a second movie and a TV series that laid down plenty of hurt to the lizards.
- kitsua, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1Me too. The thought of anyone trying to adapt any of Pynchon's novels for screen makes me guffaw though.
Apart from, maybe, a short film of The Crying of Lot 49, that might work... - danwgre, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1I didn't read the spoiler info in the article, but thanks for not warning me, you jack-ass.
- xonahuia, on 08/07/2008, -0/+1I certainly hope it has an anti-Iraq war and an Impeach Bush/Cheney messages
