- lnxaddct, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1(1+sqrt(5))/2 does not equal 1/2*Pi. What is this guy smoking? (1+sqrt(5))/2, also known as the golden ratio, is a very important mathematical number that is found in everything from Fibonacci numbers to number theory and geometry. The number itself is the ratio of taking a line and dividing the line in half in such a way that one side's ratio in regard to the lengh of the line is the same as the ratio of the other side in regard to the first side.

- eepman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Has anyone seen the teaser trailer? Cuz I was watching, and I found some stuff. In the end date part there's this one bible verse part and during the letters all scattering and shooting around, one set of letters that float around randomly light up, I wrote em down but could n't figure out what they spelled. That's all I have to say.

- kylef, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hes an author, so he can write whatever the hell he wants, so when people say that the facts are not true, well thats because he warped them to make things more interesting.
- eepman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Earlier, I wasnt talking about the trailer with movie scenes.
I was talking about the teaser where it flies through the mona lisa.
theres one part where hundreds of symbols scatter.
Some of them light up, and i couldnt figure what they said.
I don't know if u can find it still up any where, BUT the letters i found are as follows:
FDLARDNNOREBOGTIN
Any help would be greatly appreciated. - ochants76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
"no digg but thanks for the good laugh watching farklife low brows getting worked up about crappy geezus book psuedoscience. wuleidando's right. the BS dorks have found a new gimmick."
havnt read the book have you? :) go read it then maybe u will understand what its about i wouldnt classify it as a "geezus" book..though he is a major part of the story its not passion of the christ or that narnia crap - troydoogle7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very cool, reminds me a bit of the lost website, any other websites with online mysteries? I really enjoy them
- spikebuddy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's a great book, but Hanks is not the right actor for the lead role in this film (Although McKellan is a great choice for the role they have him in)...bottom line: this movie ain't gonna be what the book is.
The website has two games you can play "unlock the code" ... they are pretty lame though... - rayman901, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I found another, in the beginning there is a fleur-de-lis in the clouds. i emailed the guy. Very cool site!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0For some reason I always think of Forrest Gump when I see Tom Hanks, hopefully he's a decent Langdon.
- m85476585, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how does 1/2 (1+ square root of 5) = 1/2 pi?
1.618 != 1.571 - spadin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the golden ratio is also known as phi not pi. type 'phi' into google.
- chriskzoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Here's a clue: read the book.
- solidus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0*cough*SWF Decompiler*cough*
- Limonade, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0FIND ROBERT LANGDON = FDLARDNNOREBOGTIN
TOO EASY... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0>Wow, your ripping on a popular book. You must sit at the cool kids table
People magazine is "popular"... does not make it great literature. - greenboy22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Has anyone seen the teaser trailer? Cuz I was watching, and I found some stuff. It says "SEEK THE CODES" Before the letters light up in the casts names, it says "SEEK THE TRUTH" and seek lights up at the end. Unscramble the "THSECDEO"it says "the codes" So put them together and you get "SEEK THE CODES" - AgentLars, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It was an entertaining story, but poorly written book. I personally don't have a problem with the "facts" considering the book is fiction. NEVER let facts get in the way of a good story. However, I just think Dan Brown’s writing tends to be a bit simplistic to make it accessible to the lowest common dominator. Of course, if it gets more people to read, I'm all for it. I think though with some good writers and Howard, Hanks, and Reno, the movie could be pretty good.
- Ksuji, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the book is absurd, a number of "facts" are misleading if not false.
for example, the vote at the Council of Nicea for the deity of Jesus Christ (not a necessary vote), the book/Dan Brown said it was a "close vote", but in reality, it was a landslide, with about 2 opposing votes. That's just one of many things in this fiction. And the issue that was voted on was long addressed before the Council, by Athanasius - spadin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i'm out of it today, the radius has to do with geometry not even trigonometry. can someone just rate my comments unworthy...

no digg but thanks for the good laugh watching farklife low brows getting worked up about crappy geezus book psuedoscience. wuleidando's right. the BS dorks have found a new gimmick. - CanuckPlumber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"how does 1/2 (1+ square root of 5) = 1/2 pi?
1.618 != 1.571" Your right but I think you missed the point.

Also right, but then anything to get people not only to read but question whats been accepted as fact is also good. - ochants76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"no digg
BS marketing gimmick"
yes it is a marketing gimmick.....SO....what makes it BS? It goes along with the story. If they didnt want ppl to find it they wouldnt have put the slider on the site so you can slowly look through the pictures. its just a fun thing they put on their site to promote their move...like any other major motion picture site would - beatniak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Can't see the site:
"The page you are attempting to access has been removed because it violated Tripod's Terms of Service." - enayecee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0While it is a marketing gimmick, there will be a purpose to the codes, it just hasn't been completely rolled out yet.
on the page:
http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/thedavincicode/
mouseover on the "Seek The Truth" text on the bottom left. ... You'll see an unactivated link.
more coming soon, but couldn't tell you when... even if i knew - beatniak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks kitkat!
- enayecee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think it's supposed to hint towards this actually: http://www.seekthecodes.com/

Wow, your ripping on a popular book. You must sit at the cool kids table. - spadin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0pi/2 is equal to the radius of a circle :) there is nice trigonometry tutorial on the front page for those that don't understand. :)
- headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Should have thrown in the hidden stuff from the trailer, like "Seek the codes".
- wuleidando, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1no digg
BS marketing gimmick - oyourmom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0spooky, as if, maybe if god could write flash scripts it might be spooky, otherwise, sorta stupid, still intereting, dugg
- spadin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0my bad, i'm so silly, d/2 is the radius, pi/2 has nothing to do with anything. I'm confused :)
- fa_pa, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0some people have too much time on their hands *rolleyes*
