- Robustica, on 12/10/2008, -0/+170"Blu-ray" + "scratches surface" = poor word choice
- Trekhawk, on 12/10/2008, -1/+66Meh. I'm not paying extra for commentary from strangers. If I wanted smart ass remarks and obvious, banal statements from idiots I'd go on Digg.
- foolishwolf, on 12/10/2008, -1/+56Somehow I'm not too sure I want a creepy old man with a mustache and glasses commenting during my Dark Knight experience.
Just saying... - foolfoolz, on 12/10/2008, -1/+36Trojan Condoms are breaking open a new marketing strategy to increase sales.
Apple Computers are breaking down barriers with their newest features.
Anti-Rape groups are taking advantage of girls protection law to provide more benefits than originally planned. - mattatlsu, on 12/10/2008, -0/+34Exactly what I thought as I scanned the headline
- Bviper, on 12/10/2008, -0/+26I actually have a Blu-Ray player and think BD-Live is the most retarded thing ever. Ironman actually froze while trying to load content from their "crashed" server. I had to pull out the ethernet cable just to watch the movie.
- illwil, on 12/10/2008, -3/+26I see MST3K potential.
- Aleman360, on 12/10/2008, -4/+21Who cares about special features? They're just using all that BS as an excuse to charge more.
- vsujohn2, on 12/10/2008, -0/+16You have to wait for the deluxe edition to come out a few months later, and then the super deluxe a few months after that. Thats how these things work. You're supposed to buy each one, so they get 3x the money for what is essentially the same movie.
- level32, on 12/10/2008, -0/+15"O man this is the best part. The Joker makes the pencil disapear! Watch this! Wait for it..."
*Blam!*
"O snap did you see that?!"
-_-
No thanks - Dalhectar, on 12/10/2008, -2/+17Disc registration to get access to extra features?
- inkubusfan, on 12/10/2008, -2/+13Just picked up TDK blu-ray yesterday and I have to say that the special features are weak sauce.
- ProjectGSX, on 12/10/2008, -0/+10You can upload your own video commentary? I can't wait until the porn industry gets ahold of this feature. Or, wait, maybe not.
- locojones, on 12/10/2008, -2/+10Amen. If that's what they refer to as Blu-Ray's potential, then I for one will be happy to to never see the surface scraped.
Just give me a decent looking movie and sound. I could care less for any "extras." - busybrain, on 12/10/2008, -2/+10Or a bunch of emos popping off about their love of the joker.
- Acqua206, on 12/10/2008, -2/+10Am I the only person that NEVER watches the extra content or dicks around with the features? I just load the movie in, watch it, and pop it back out. Thats it.
- TTURabble, on 12/10/2008, -2/+10Uhh, no thanks. I'll just take the movie.
- babula717, on 12/10/2008, -1/+9Wow, what a waste of time and money.
- Barbarino, on 12/10/2008, -1/+9They invented something no one wanted...
- JigoroKano, on 12/10/2008, -1/+9I thought this was a stupid feature when HD-DVD invented it.
People bitched and they had to incorporate it into the next BD spec.
I doubt anyone really ever wanted it, but just held it up as a reason to argue for HD-DVD's superiority.
Featuritis. - Testiculese, on 12/10/2008, -0/+7I'll definitely pass. BD-Live is one of the ***** ideas I've heard in a while.
- kinseyincanada, on 12/10/2008, -1/+7im sorry but the special features on the Dark Knight are terrible, nothing on heath ledger, nothing on harvey dent, barley anything on how nolan created the movie, no commentary; hopefully they will release another version with something worth watching other than the awesome movie of course.
- omyard, on 12/10/2008, -0/+6So I can have random strangers tell me their thoughts on the movie? No thanks. Do people really want that feature? Most of the time the people involved with the film can barely put together an entertaining commentary so I doubt Joe from Oklahoma City is going to keep me hanging on his every word.
I can pass on the whole BD-Live thing. When HD-DVD had their similar function all it ever did was cause me more headache then I needed because it made movies a pain in the ass to load. - DeathRay2K, on 12/10/2008, -0/+6I was expecting it to say that BD-Live was broken on The Dark Knight discs because that part of the disc was scratched... I was happily mistaken!
- spectecjr, on 12/10/2008, -1/+6I'll bet that 0.1% of people will use this feature.
- ejrizo, on 12/10/2008, -7/+12just got the Blu-Ray last night and its amazing... the movie that is and quality.. i loved the IMAX scenes... great stuff.... and cant complain about the free digital copy i got... so now i have it on my laptop my ps3 and my iphone :-)
- Barackalypse, on 12/10/2008, -0/+5It appears someone beat me to my clever comment so instead I'll ask, does it make sense to buy an Blu-ray player other than a PS3?
- FriedTurkey, on 12/11/2008, -0/+5I thought all those HD-DVD guys were complaining that Blu-ray sucked because early players couldn't use the fancy 2.0 features. Maybe it really didn't matter?
- randomstupid, on 12/11/2008, -0/+5Yay ... more user-created content to skip over
- Tddupre, on 12/10/2008, -0/+5http://letmegooglethatforyou.com/?q=Cheap+Blu-Ray+ ...
- fcrow, on 12/10/2008, -1/+5They should include more small movie themed games on the disc not some weird crap like this!
- Darkwave, on 12/10/2008, -1/+5All the new features are great but the transition between the IMAX and regular shots (as said in the article) really pissed me off was so damn distracting.
- V0lk, on 12/10/2008, -0/+4Just think of the potential of BD Live and pornography!
- FredFredrickson, on 12/10/2008, -0/+3Digg is a site where people comment on things!
- vizeroth, on 12/10/2008, -0/+3Most of the places near me have the Dark Knight BluRay at a lower price than most new BR releases.
- Jsmuli2, on 12/10/2008, -2/+5"Well I never Metaluna I didn't like."
- rob2oo4, on 12/10/2008, -2/+5First impression of the title made me weary of putting the disc into my blu-ray player
- Eezyville, on 12/10/2008, -0/+3Yeah I was worried for a second. Thats why I clicked.
- Hubris, on 12/10/2008, -0/+3So they're allowing you to stream extra commentaries from the Internet....rather than including them in high quality on the disc itself - using all that extra space? A feature looking for a reason to exist?
- tommyny04, on 12/10/2008, -1/+4what happened to the good ol days when all people wanted to do with a movie was watch it??
- AndrewDB, on 12/10/2008, -0/+3Batman broke the Tumbler! Batman broke the Tumbler!
- DaHuuuuuudge, on 12/10/2008, -3/+6*couldn't
- magnumburns, on 12/10/2008, -0/+3What the hell does erectile dysfunction have to do with blu ray?
- FredFredrickson, on 12/10/2008, -0/+2Maybe it will someday when the BRD spec is finally finished?
- Testiculese, on 12/10/2008, -0/+2*leary
- Nimsim, on 12/11/2008, -0/+2Exactamundo. It was their arguing point and now that BD-Live is finally up the same people are saying it's pointless.
*****! - Koushiro, on 12/11/2008, -1/+3Or we could just buy it on DVD! :D
- pgouy, on 12/11/2008, -0/+2'Featurists' ?
- dalectrics, on 12/11/2008, -0/+2But how are you sharing the experience? Short of you getting a headset out with your Xbox and talking to them - something I would probably not want to do during a film, or calling them on your phone. It makes no difference at all whether the person watches the film simultaneously with you does it?
- Stomper622, on 12/10/2008, -0/+2Are the aspect ratio changes between the IMAX scenes and the regular scenes on the Blu Ray version really that distracting? Should I just get the regular DVD?
