- theguiser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Its coming to the point where the technology for making a feature length film is able to reach the hands of the pro-sumer.
Exciting times.
Let's make a movie. - heydigital, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Excellent Digg! Using consumer products to make a feature film! It goes to show that people have NO excuse not to make movies. It does not matter if you use Mac, PC, Avid, Final Cut, Digital or Film, as it all comes down to characters and storytelling.
- neverwhere, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I kinda made this, um, movie once, back in college...I was young, I really needed the money. *tear*
- masterzora, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Congratulations, somebody figured out how to use the movies category for technology news, just like I've been saying. I guess I can use this whenever anybody says "It's not just tech news. Look at the movies category."
Oh, and it's interesting, too. I love Tim Burton films.
Digg++ - aardwolf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Amazing. The fact that they can use off the shelf digital SLR cameras and get that quality is awesome. It's a shame it's pulled down so much. I'm sure the master 4MP version is like twice the resolution of current HD. Can you even get a monitor to play that in native resolution? No matter how much I would love to work on a project like that, 52 weeks of stop motion would just drive me insane. After reading this I can't wait to see it.
- diecastbeatdown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0corpse bride = nightmare before christmas wannabe.
- Guru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This movie looks awesome. Can't wait for it.
- hadees, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Aren't they stretching on the firsts stuff. First "stop-motion film edited using Final Cut Pro". Come on, why not just say its the first stop-motion film about a Corpse Bride .
- moogleman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Wow, that’s an 8MP camera! That movie has 6 times more resolution than HDTV. Too bad no one will ever be able to see it in its original format."
Not YET. Wait until we get extremely high-definition DVDs in the future. - toekneebullard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0All that, and Tim Burton kicks ass. Dug
- isoprophlex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0read the the other day, very cool.
- webbunny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, and I thought this was CGI!
*new respect for Corpse Bride*
and I love Tim Burton, this will be a fantastic film! - Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, that’s an 8MP camera! That movie has 6 times more resolution than HDTV. Too bad no one will ever be able to see it in its original format.
- rabiddogma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This ain't the first. My son and I made a stop motion movie with my digital camera, a cheap tripod and final cut pro 2 years ago in our dining room--but do we get any credit? NOOOO Some big shot in Hollywood steals our idea and claims to be the first--***** you Tim Burton!!
Actually I like Tim Burton and harbor no ill will twards him... I just thought I'd brag. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0^^^ probably because it sucked.
- motionblur, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Tim Burton loves Kevin Smith.
- jeremiahx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0That is so cool... I think I am going to go out and get a mac now.
