    The lower frame rate of her walking bothered me a bit, since most of the sequence was so smooth, but on the whole it was an entertaining and flowing sequence

      • RubberbandLN6, on 01/03/2008, -0/+1I have to say the first 15-20 minutes including this part (as creative and great as it may be) had that terrible obnoxious, pretentious indie vibe encapsulating it, the phone call between Juno and Leah at the beginning was just unbearably, cringe inducing hip, but after it takes to find it's groove and get out of it's own way, it becomes truly great.

    this movie is almost too witty for it's own good. the dialog? no one talks like that in the real world, and many of the situations are just too contrived to be believable. Plus, Rainn was great, but he only had what? 3 lines? and they were all shown in the trailers.
    I'll give the movie credit for being a wide release "indie" movie, but don't hit people in the face with it next time. Luckily it came around on me at the end, plus a few good songs here and there.

  • adraft, on 01/03/2008, -5/+4I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, Juno SUCKED!!! They tried so hard to use slang and it came off as annoying and unwanted. Plus the jokes were all mediocre at best and as a friend put it best a "Well that was.....indie." This movie reminded me of kids who change styles every week to try and fit in but only end up pointing out how out of touch they are. I don't know how any writer/director could go wrong with Michael Cera, Jason Bateman, and J.K. Simmons on the cast. And this intro is nothing new or creative, not to mention the fact that it seems to go on for like 30 ***** minutes. Buried to hell.

  • wtfomg, on 01/03/2008, -0/+1Absolutely loved this movie, best date movie I've been on a date while seeing, and one of the best movies of the year.

    The opening, though, kind of put me off. From this intro that was alright but not particularly well done (not poorly done, but nothing amazing in it) and the barrage of awkward dialogue between Juno and Hilarious Cameo Store Clerk. I can buy two 16 year old girls talking to each other in weird awkward slang, or Juno making comments to people in it, but their conversation was off putting.
