- Saintlink, on 10/12/2007, -7/+52Been around for ages? A through search on digg and the duplicate link checker didn't bring it up. If people like it they'll digg it. It might even be a welcome change from all the E3 coverage for some.
- blobzorz, on 10/12/2007, -8/+42Lol Web 1.0
- anonymonk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+34Man, I wonder how you'd write "tough crowd" in elven... Seriously.

He looks like a ladies man. - MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -1/+12they should just make a tolkein babelfish... except, not crappy like babelfish.
- sHARD>>, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Just because it's old doesn't mean it's a piece of crap. Sites with a single logo and a single background image tend to be very small. People associate "new" and "pretty" with "faster". That's a load of *****.
- djbelieve, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12The spam is weak...please stop it.
- jnosanov, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Wow. I wonder how much time was spent. Makes me feel better about my obsession for the old "Marathon" games on Mac.
- kb9vgr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7J.R.R. Tolkien = Lord of The Rings author
- mrnukem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I guess I am too much of a dork. I loved this site! Gave a Digg
- mmmpie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5nb:
This is still a ridiculously awesome website, if only because its author is clearly a linguistic champion. I'm currently minoring in linguistics and definitely think this is one of the neatest links out there on artificial languages. - mr_bako2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8well... ill dig it because its at least something semi interesting, at least the guy cares about something enough to do all that ( :
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Bad web design? It's light and functional, I'd say it's great web design.
- Paroparo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Tolkien wrote a poem in Gothic. That's how cool he is. http://members.aol.com/yahyam/BagmeBloma.html
- swanny89, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4No its because ths has to do with The Lord of the Rings: same reason why Stargate SG-1 stuff gets lots of diggs. I don't know if you've noticed, but Digg is a pretty nerdy community...
- shakeyshakey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Digg check:
- LOTR
- Languages
- Nerdy
- Unique
- Made by a hobbit
+digg - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Beh, I don't care about the languages of middle-earth, booooringzzzz. But I would like to know more about teh pipe-weeds that are smoked there. Old Toby, some Longbottom, mmm.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yes this site has been around for a while. Might I recommend the awesome Quenya Course located on the page? WEll formatted, probably the most extensive one around, and... it's free.
- aelfrice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4And I still can not spell Tolkien.
- guttertrash, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4where can you get some of that hobbit weed :)
- chesterjosiah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Why is twistedambience modded down?
- Couchy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Digg check:

QFT! - Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Windchiiiimes...
- noneloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You mean, 'what a phenomenal word'?
- aelfrice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3With the Lord of the Rings having come out a few years ago, my school's medieval department went crazy over anything Tolkein related. I should say, though, that it was really just the few loony escapist medievalists professors who got course-crazy.
In three years there were three LoTR courses taught by three different profs. I took the ambitious version that covered icelandic heroic poetry, germanic heroic poetry, Beowulf, Wagner's Der Ring Das Nibelungen among others.
There are tenured professors whose entire work is devoted Tolkein.
I left with a vast knowledge of things that has just withered and will mostly be forgotten. The most vivid lesson that I recall is to never devote my life to the imaginings of just one man. - ByteGuerilla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2A lot of people don't know it, but Tolkien wasn't an author. He was a linguist, and developed the languages in Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit purely out of academic interest. He then decided he needed a use for the languages, so he wrote novels featuring people who used them, and released the Lord of the Rings as six books (think of the films, with each film split into two).
- ByteGuerilla, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Halo stole from Marathon's story and concept? That's like saying Windows 98 stole from Windows 95's GUI. Halo is made by the same company, and the story for Halo was written by the same guy at that company.
Dugg your comment though for the link. I attempted to learn a bit of Elvish when I was thoroughly engrossed in Lord of the Rings. I remember my name in Elvish is Druadan (expanded on Adan, and there should be an acute accent on the u but digg doesn't like it), and I can say "mae govannen, mellon nin", which means "well met, my friend". Oh, and the Bruinen spell, but that's a bit long for here. - SirBriggs, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Haha, I remember that from when I was a complete LotR fan.
- timmage89, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I digg it, only because he said phenomenal in the description. What a great word!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Oooooh, he's a hobbit. explains much.
- ohhhL3ThaL, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4How does that website handle the bandwidth from the Digg Effect?
Looks can be decieving I guess. - JoeWall, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4looks like the domain uni.no is owned by a 16.000 students norwegian university.
he must be a network admin or a student who has spent his life in this university
either way, he needs to go out more often :-) - javaroast, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The dude speaks elvish.... and we've all seen those elf babes!!! We should all get as lucky as him.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Maybe he's into dwarfish prostitutes.
- HackWithRamzi, on 10/12/2007, -11/+11The guy who compiled this stuff doesn't ever get any....
- djgump35, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2It might be new to Digg, but I agree, I have seen it before, long time ago
- Hiseran, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Well although this has been around forever and any tolkien fans know about it I guess It's good for people who never heard of this
- twiztedambience, on 10/12/2007, -8/+7Marathon was the best first person shooter ever invented. Without Marathon, there'd be no Halo as Halo essentially stole from Marathon's story plot and concept. The story was the strongest I've ever seen in a first person shooter.
In regard to this Tolkien page, it is impressive.
For those of you who want to look at everything Tolkien, Marquette University in Milwaukee has the biggest Tolkien collection in the world.

Anybody can look at it I believe - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Marathon the best story in a first person shooter ever? Ever played System Shock 2? Now that's a hell of a story, and what's more, you can get it free now off this site: http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=3924
- BloodJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1swanny...touché
- dhasenan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I've known about it for nearly five years as well. It's the first entry on Google when you search for Quenya or Sindarin, and only Westron Communications trumps it on a search for Westron. It's the first external link on the Wikipedia article for Quenya. It's probably referenced on every Wikipedia page on Tolklangs.
Essentially, anyone who cared to know, already knew; all this serves to do is crowd the UIB servers, which isn't nice. - shikaga, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3+ for hard work
- for bad web design - Brewno, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3This man scares me deep down :(
- detrate, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5the background is so trrrippy
- enigmattic, on 10/12/2007, -17/+11Elvish, ***** link spamming idiot.

- BloodJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1does that mean i can start posting stuff about John Grisham?...because they made movies out of his books?
