Not all of those are really strange, just different. Some of those look awesome, like #10. - armbar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14That 30" triple monitor setup is calling my name right now.
Reminds me of the Grand Canyon and Athens setups from go-I: http://216.127.51.88/monitors/athens/features/index.htm - headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15OMG... The moment I saw "Top 10" in the title, I knew this was from Techblog.
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13'Ctrl' + '-'
- DJcrayon, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15A mac in a DeLorean!!!
Its an alternative way to time travel - cjdaniel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Jigawatts, you insensitive clod.
- rockintom99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Um... Didn't need to see that.
- richardiscool, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9It overheats before it gets to 1.21 Gigawatts though, too much thermal paste.
- nuclearpotato31, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11The ultimate quake setup... *drools*
- Murphys, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I would have thought a driving sim would have been more appropriate. :)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Quake on 24 screens > delorean
any day of the week. Now for obligatory WoW port to Linux just to utilize this in a more efficient manner... - imjustabill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow, if they built a toilet into the mountian dew PC, I would never have to move again
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If only I had the money and time to waste on a project like that...
- headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It's because any monkey can throw together a top 10 list.
- UserAgent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+324 monitors would be nice but 50 is even better
http://cg.calit2.uci.edu/mediawiki/index.php/Research_Projects:_HIPerWall - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3okay this is great and everything but how many "top 10" lists are we going to have to see now?
- postal21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3#10 isnt a "strange" setup as much as it is a "OMG, I have millions of dollars to waste on a pimp-pc-setup!"
Im jealous... :( - scurf123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3or "Ctrl" + scroll wheel
- republicoftexas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Anyone know of any web sites telling you how to setup 3 monitors for gaming? Are the modern games like HL2 even compatible with 3 monitors?
- GreenTentacle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Yeah seeing top 10 list after top 10 list on the front page from Techeblog is starting to tick me off. They aren't even that good !
- ph33rm3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2wow, i'd do anything to have that setup in #10 (apart from working hard and paying for it myself of course :P )
- TheKingInYellow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2that newspaper box is sweet! i bet it's heavy as hell though!
- kindrobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Mt Dew setup is great! But it's missing one thing, the 5' 9", 285lb guy with diabetes running it.
I know many do not agree, but sometimes these so-called "top 10" things
show me some cool stuff I'd otherwise miss. - OmegaX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Tell me about it.... That is hardcore. What's a guy gotta do to get a rig like that? (Ult Q3 rig, not the newspaper box. Though the newspsper box rig would be nice, for lan parties and what-not.)
- SilentPurity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well once I get my Top 10: Top 10 lists out there would be another one.
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Some of them aren't expensive. The whiskey bottle one is fairly cheap ( assuming you already have the computer ) ( not including costs for obtaining skillz ).
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I still don't get what it's supposed to do.
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I like that wing setup a lot. I wouldn't call it strange, so much as stylish.d
- liveinabin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Haha! That Stealth Fighter setup. What a lonely lonely man. :)
- akinnee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I want one......
- VioletArrows, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No mention of that weird reclining chair/desk setup that puts the monitor up above your head in a dangerous position? That thing is much stranger than these. These are *NICE*. Hell, *my* set up is strange. Or it might be just a gigantic mess of cables threatening to strangle me from all over the room.
- mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The quake setup looks nice. Not sure about the delorean. What else can you do with it, watch DVDs, music ?
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Like what? There's 10 of them...
- Daniel591992, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1that's why it's strange o_O
- dangsta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ok does a photographer really need THAT many computers and monitors? i wouldnt mind having it but damn. seems like a waste of money and kind of unnecessary..
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'll make that list in a day or two with my new creation :D
http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1062391 - cfsporn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Those are some nice setups!
- SilentPurity, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Those all suck, I can give you links to many stranger setups.
In fact here is Silenpurity's Top 5 Strangest Setups.

- noouch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It looks more like "top ten casemods" to me (although not completely).
- SilentPurity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why not? The more gear the better.
- nature, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They all lose to Sam "Da Man" Deathwalker and his 6 monitors chained over his hospital bed that he uses.
- armbar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks. I guess the reason they don't have prices deserves that age-old answer...if you have to ask, you can't afford it. It's also kind of odd that they forward you to an ip address if you go to their website.
- SilentPurity, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Well I got that up. =D
http://digg.com/links/The_Top_Five_Top_Lists_on_Digg_Today - cmajewski, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@armbar...that website is quite amazing...howcome they don't have any prices on anyting?
- shadowsurfr1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The 23" screen in #10 looks small. Nice.
- kingfoot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1WHAT! there isn't 11 on their top 10!? outragious! there isn't honerable mention??? oh well. i agree that the qucke setup is cool, but i really like the Mt.dew setup! thatd be sweet until a lin burst inside ur computer, imagin a coumputer cooled with mt.dew eh?
- Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Fatal error: Cannot redeclare unregister_globals() (previously declared in /home/techeb/public_html/wp-settings.php:4) in /home/techeb/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 3
- haxx4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It would be nice if the article let you enlarge the pics.
