- PureEvil, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38I remember this one... the Screen Savers was the best show ever!!!
- argash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+33Just a note the website given at the end of the clip is no longer valid the site was moved to http://www.oldschoolsystems.com/
- creep303, on 10/12/2007, -1/+33Must be that, not that people are rarely on television and the lights and people and all that crap wouldn't make the average person nervous.
That, or he never gets out of his patents basement.
Awesome attempt at scathing humor, really..it was. - LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+31"I think it's kinda weird that a tech show host would point to the hard drive and ask 'is this the hard drive?'"
Leo often asks the obvious questions, because I know that when TSS was on, my whole family would watch, and while my dad and I are geeks, my mom is not. Leo has that kind of personality that is interesting for just about anyone to watch and he knows this, so he brings everyone into the fold. Just one of the things that makes him an excellent radio/tv personality. - colty045, on 10/12/2007, -5/+20Hey a great idea of what people can do with their PS3
- ericrous, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Unlikely. Even Hell has its standards.
- Robotsu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12TPrime3:
More like, "Oh the days when a ~1.7MHz processor and 64k of RAM would work fine for an entertainment center" - danmiller81, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11A trip down memory lane........ before G4 re-paved it and turned the road to ***** to make money burn in Hell G4..... burn in HELL
- chaosmachine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9number of diggs required to reach the front page is dependent on the category the story is posted in. i suspect the threshold for 'mods' is fairly low.
- drgruney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8@Hickeroar
Ever watch "This Old House." Bob Villa and the rest of the gang ask some pretty obvious questions for the sake of the viewers. - ericrous, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Anyone remember the Hawaiian shirt phase?
- TPrime, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Nothing like a bit of nostalgia watching and old show i love, as they are a bit nostalgia themselves covering an old school NES.
Oh the days when a 1GHz processor and a 20GB HDD would work fine for a media center PC. *sigh* - GuyHitByTruck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Of course! The fact that it was broadcast live all across America had nothing to do with it.
- Sublimefly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I think it's safe to say we all miss The Screen Savers. One of the most informative and entertaining shows ever.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It would be great for me to take an old PC and shove it into my old NES and then load all my NES roms onto it... Maybe SNES, Sega, Gameboy and everything else too.. The PC I would use would not be of much use other than game emulation since it's too old to run anything else.
- JohnyD, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Maybe it's just cause I have 'some' common sense... but I knew before even following the link that it'd be a case mod.
What I'm REALLY impressed about is that Nintendo didn't try to hit the guy up with a lawsuit for emulating a rom on tv.... go figure. - chatwithaninja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The original:
http://www.lofi-gaming.org.uk/nespc/index.php - beelz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6that one is down ..
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=NES+PC&btnG=Google+Search - civperc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Jeez the host really luv'd cutting the NES guy off every time he tries to answer the questions...
- ericrous, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It's sad that "Attack of the Show" has devolved so low, compared to its predecessor. Bad jokes and lame sexual innuendo is such a sad state for a show that once featured the great Leo Laporte.
- nickj6282, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It's also a factor of time. Number of consecutive diggs in a given timeframe.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah! I miss that show!! I used to watch it all the time after work.
- llMll, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2WTF is with this world...Why the ***** is good ***** always taken away, eg..SCREEN SAVERS
- maxshanly, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I've been thinking of doing this for a while, I think I'll do it in a few months once I have a bit more money. I'll most likely put a Mac Mini inside a NES though.
- smcnulty1981, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Man I miss tech tv so much, I hate G4, but I guess corporate type people would rather have us watch brainless tv rather than actually learn something interesting
- weird0science, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thanks! I have been looking for this! I have an old broken NES laying around!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3TIM WASSON WAS AN *****!
He used this publicity to promote his website, which he sold to German Spammers for a few thousand bucks.
Bury this bastard before he uses the Digg population for some other form of advertisement. - DigitalDud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't think it qualifies as an NES without the 6502 processor, or any of the hardware but the case for that matter. Boot Linux or something on it, then you can call it a PC.
- hcetrepus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Bring it back!
- OrangeTide, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was hoping someone took a NES, installed Contiki on it (http://www.sics.se/contiki/ ) and was using it to browse the web or something.
- wily6, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4but will it blend?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"That's a great episode and a wicked project, but what was that guy smoking... NEStron??? For god's sake man, use an FCExxxx emulator!"
That was what I was thinking as well, but I'm currently using Nestopia due to Zophar's Domain giving it a good review and it's constantly being updated. - torindkflt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I remember seeing this one. After watching it, I disassembled my old NES with the hopes of putting something else inside the case, like a DVD player. Alas, lack of skills and money meant those desires never came to fruition, and the old NES got junked a month later. Now I regret taking it apart to begin with...
- smroge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Better one without the box on the bottom

- Wickedboss, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Leo stop wearing pink please....
- stoppedcode12, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1heh, I gather you don't watch a lot of tech series on TV, because leo has been the backbone (and still is) of every major tech series in modern TV history.
- matt.rubin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1does via make processors anymore?
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@LegendarySock
How dare you hold a lowly Mac mini with greater reverence then a NES!
I don't care what they make in the next decade, the NES is sacred! - LegendarySock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You've got game emulation... What else do you need?
Oh right... Digg... - unixdotseth, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Bring me back TECH TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- wookiebush, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yep, the good ol' days TSS, with Leo and Kate. and can't forget Call for help that came on before TSS.
W. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you don't watch much tv, do you?
edit: stoppedcode12 beat me to it! - sgeltoob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Leo for PRESIDENT of USA and Canada...........................
- dareiff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I started one of these too.. Got the bottom of the NES shaved out, a laptop dvd-drive, and that's about it.. Been sitting in a box in my closet for 3 years now. Shame.
Maybe I'll add the MoBo to my christmas list..
(If anyone's interested, they can be had at www.mini-itx.com ) - Fortex555, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I MISS TSS!!! (=/) The glory days of Tech TV, B4 the G4 debacle/butchery
- imikedaman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I agree. Coming soon:
Turn a cardboard box into a fully-functional PC!
Step(s): Take a PC, and put it inside a cardboard box. Ta da! - raid517, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1http://vp11.video.l.google.com/videodownload?version=0&secureurl=tgAAALPhH7MLYNOlBidjzAiA9mNGFQAJw5qnwZFnqQCY6kCmo7P0kJJVYynIPForp9kL01IAeUTU30tXMygv8w2KvxFdcd6Lc-LIrAsd26t6uvIo-6yR_DApAL3-O_w-jHuNU884_te6c59Ai4UOSaVIzlFzZ--jcz5QPsi-158BUp14sLCijHF08cvuBjgHM_SVULDGZ3zuHyQnJWLkrLUpUbixGlBcmrdr990NjeWLLx23oouyqAoJzh2K5t5n6l7cmw&sigh=N8XTAV6EtjSYozamiTQQ3ilHETA&begin=0&len=390566&docid=4435068971679334683&rdc=1
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Neat mcpc.
- barranco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh, I think I missed this episode back then, anyhow, nothing but really good memories come to my mind when I see this, I still remember the first time when I discovered the ZDtv channel I was going through my brother's brand new pirate satellite tv.
