- BlackSheepx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24http://duggmirror.com/mods/Portable_Nintendo_64_-_L64
That's the best looking portable mod I've ever seen. A bit bulky, but really sleek..I'd want one. - thetanbark, on 10/12/2007, -19/+31As I type this there are 64 diggs for the N64 digg :)

- n0ctem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Here's a picture of it from Image Shack.
http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/378/img14gs.jpg - postal21, on 10/12/2007, -19/+3Looks cool. Its more powerful then a DS, and close in power to a PSP-graphically.
Wish I had kept my n64 and games to try it out for nostalgia-factor. - dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3If it's anything like the L Camino, I'm sure to buy one, and leave it junking in my front yard with my other 10 cars.
- 4tygames, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I wish someone could start a business of selling these. I would buy one in a second!
- djgump35, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I agree, that is the best mod I have seen, props to the modder.
- sinembarg0, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@postal21
You're a fool. I'm not sure how much so, but the DS is definitely more powerful than an N64, and the PSP has more horsepower than the PS2, so its fairly obvious that it is also more powerful than the N64. - alej744, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1HOW MUCH DOES IT COST!!!???
- BlackSheepx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24http://duggmirror.com/mods/Portable_Nintendo_64_-_L64
- burke, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9okay, I'll digg it, even despite the name. The thing is just too damn cool.
- thehouse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8oh, but the name is too cool... 'leet even, if you will...
- abiding99, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8it's cool no doubt... site is slow though, but worth the wait.
- iruel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4slow on high-speed = not even loading on my dial-up:(
- Yibn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I really wanna make one now....Imagine whipping out all the old 64 classics anywhere and freaking out your friends. =p
- Klarth, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2You'll be able to do that very soon if you pick up a PSP.
Hell, you can do it now albeit slowly. - dracula7, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5if you're using your psp for emulation there are better options (that also cost less money). try any pda, the gp32, pocket pcs, etc.
- usefulidiot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3pdas and pocket pc's have retarded controls. gp32x is cool, but psps are mainstream, which means you can find more people to play your emulators with.
- Bakagamer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The PSP lags enough with SNES, I can't imagine what it'll do with n64 emulation.
- Spaz007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Use a newer emulator for SNES I never had any lag. N64 emulator is a bit slow but they are gaining on the speed pretty fast. The DS emulator is still in development but has somewhat playable games.
- Klarth, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2You'll be able to do that very soon if you pick up a PSP.
- Bitz69, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6My kids still have their 64 :/
- sych0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32Kids? *I* still have my n64.
- jgclark123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just sold mine for twenty bucks at a garage sale. Sadly, Perfect Dark was better in my memory... I still play Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask on my GameCube.
- plue2, on 10/12/2007, -16/+2Wow, this is at least 5 years old. lol We talked about making one my first semester in college after seeing it.
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3I thought you were a journalist? You're an electrical engineer in your spare time, too? Cool.
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Believe it or not, colleges provide education in fields other than the trades; like Graphic Design, which is what I did.
*thwap* - plue2, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1gasp! I could have hobbies other then my chosen profession? We're not living in a caste society?! You keep stupid ass arguments going through multiple threads because your a complete flaming-ass-troll!?!?!? OMG!
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3"gasp! I could have hobbies other then my chosen profession? We're not living in a caste society?! You keep stupid ass arguments going through multiple threads because your a complete flaming-ass-troll!?!?!? OMG!"
I was just making an observation. Way to bite off my head. It's just that it's not often you meet a person of words and numbers.
Nice though. Real classy. - plue2, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1You were trolling, there's no doubt about it. You're also a drama queen, let arguments die in the threads they die in and stop being a troll.
- ReaperUnreal, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11Forget the DS Lite, I want one of those!
- elroy, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5YOU ***** *****.
- Hearshot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7What became of projects like this? Is there any way to purchase this?
- iluvatar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6looks incredibly slick. But what about the d-pad and the L button?
- erichoya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I like how the analog stick is on the left side. One of my pet peeves about the stock N64 controller was the placement of the analog knob right in the middle of the controller. I agree about the missing D-pad. Would this hamper games at all? (asking the question purely out of my own lack of knowledge about the system) Or are the analog and d-pad interchangeable for menu navigation and the like?
- jcapogna, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hardly any of the N64 games used the D-pad.
- 4tygames, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Cool, but you can't play Tetrisphere or Wetrix without the D-Pad so if really isn't made for all N64 Games. Also Tony Hawk would be really hard to play without the D-Pad.
- alej744, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1D-Pad = Kirby and the Crystal Shards.
- wbguy88, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That looks tight i just gotta around to playing my old one went back to mario kart and other games looks like i may have a mod in my future
- digga34, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2this site has NO bandwith
- mck9235, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5That's why there's duggmirror.com
- afeitarse, on 10/12/2007, -8/+5even duggmirror is coughing right now
- theGrue, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21That's it, time to start duggmirrormirror.
- MrC539, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Yeah, can we get some more mirrorage?
- weaz, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Damn, poor guy got his DynDNS address dugg.
- Celeron, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1The 1337 64. Interesting name. :)
- msnowman, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Is this even real???
The site being a dyndns site makes me wonder- Hellmark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4being a privately hosted site doesnt mean its a fake. Hell, its quite frequently that hackers who do projects like that also like running their own server.
- GuyHitByTruck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Judging by the project itself, the DynDNS probably indicates that the server is a DIY job, similar to the L64. It didn't take a huge leap in logic.
- thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6Been there done that.

It might not be a pretty but it's been done before.- jaba1337, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3yeah, i like the way the L64 looks more than that one.
- loup, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The one you link to is on the benheck website, and the guy that built the l64 is a regular on the benheck message boards
- afeitarse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Dude, I think that mod is huge...might actually be bigger than an xbox controller
- Otto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Coral seems to be mirroring it all just fine:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/343GS_Caboose/l64/img5.jpg - IcyStorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmm... if there was a D-Pad and L button (the L button on there is the Z button), it would've been better but it's awesome anyway. Digg.
- triikan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, but the D-pad and the L button on the N64 was largely unutilized because you couldn't use it without readjusting your hands from the center part.
- gwayne, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Wow the dude that made it has some serious talent.. in reference to a post above though, I thought the DS was more powerful then an N64.. irregardless, the L64 is seriously cool, and I want one! At least until they port the N64 Zelda's to DS.
- postal21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I see myself getting "-digged" but I cant see how its 90mhz processor is slower then the 67mhz one the DS has. I know it has a side processor thats 33mhz also, But thats probably related to the gpu? Equals 100mhz, But if you look at the library, the n64 games seem to mostly "look" better. I love my DS though, cant wait to trade it in for a DS-lite, I guess people took it as If I was bashing the portable systems which I love.
- Hellmark, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@postal21 - you can't just add together clockspeeds and get an accurate measurement of performance. That would be like saying your car has 300hp, and it has a 10hp winch attached to it, so you really have 310hp. Doesn't work that way.
- postal21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0@hellmark. Right, thats what I was trying to say. I added them together just to show that essentially OVERALL the speed is 100mhz. but without the addition its essentially NOT faster. *shrug* its over. ill shut up.
- theBrink, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4does the analog stick get busted after the first month like the original?
- XistenZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Mario Party addict...

- Tiak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmm... Reminds me of the iQue... Of course it'd be insanely easier to mod an iQue to be just like this (only work would be adding in the screen). Still, pretty cool.
- t3hNinj4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3In case you're wondering what the iQue is; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_iQue
It's basically a single-player Nintendo 64 they sell in China, with hardware that fits inside the controller. The controller itself looks a lot like a dreamcast controller, but with a bit of Xbox Duke thrown in. The games are put on small 64MB flash cards, and you can download games at special centers. It comes with time-limited demos of Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, and StarFox 64. You can buy most of the first-party games that were made for the 64, and it can play some games for the Super Nintendo as well.

- WinterSolstice, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Looks like DreamCast that actually works hahah :)
-WS - captainpete, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Nintendo 64 OMG!@@#@#

- WeeklyGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Looks surprisingly comfortable!
- OmegaNine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2007 portable! sweeeet
- rumor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1just one problem, you won't be able to access the cheat menus for shadows of the empire :o
- jaba1337, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sure you can, gameshark :-) (although it would look a little bit odd sticking out of the back)
- manzk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0has anyone else noticed that it kinda looks like a (bigger and more bulky) game boy advance (non-sp/original) ?....
- destructoid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is an inspired piece of hardware.
- Freezecool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This thing is amazing! I love the look of it. I would mod my 64 in a heartbeat if it could look like this. I really want to see how it was made, but the site is down and there are no mirrors for the second page. I'll just have to wait.
- kevipapo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes, all is amazing about the L64. Damn, it's sooOoOoOoOo sweeeeeeeeet!!! The style is sweet too! If you want to make your own one (yes, it's not as cool, but it is portable) then go to: "http://stadsport.revhost.net/n64m.html". Not as good, but still pretty good. If you really want to have a N64 portable. It won't look as good as the L64 though.
