- shad0w, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Even if that was sarcasm that was not funny at all.
- brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9sometimes, submitting a story to digg is like giving a ferrari to a poor farmer that can't afford the gas, insurance or upkeep.
edit: woohoo finally a duggmirror:

- Wingnut233, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5http://www.duggmirror.com
EDIT: Hmm, doesn't look like duggmirror picked up many of the images. - Criterion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Durrr.

http://web.archive.org/web/20060423194530/http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/photos/photos.html - NipGrip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2^^ Wasn't she in Total Recall?
- WITFITS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pretty cool, though a shame the images aren't a little bigger.
- shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They are all within a short period of time, for me they are all at 2 hours ago.
- hackmaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the site loads now, but the pages are all blank.
- kryptobs2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1seriously, pretty interesting article, but I can't tell what half of them are they're so small.
- mdigirol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i think all of this stuff is interesting. the Lincoln one is really neat.
- 0KonTroL0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not small images, compressed is the word. My god jpg needs to die. For god sakes we have broadband now.... :S
Nice read tho. Dugg. - Bidofthis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There is a must read book called Eadweard Muybridge and the Technological Wild West.
Eadward was the inventor of simultaneous photography, a fascinating individual and a fascinating story
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eadweard_Muybridge
In any case they explain in the book how clouds/sky never developed well in pictures back in the 1800s and any good photograph had the sky drawn in.
They have been photoslopping since the begining.
This is nothing new! - LouCypher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It is called "photomontage"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photomontage - Plastic3D, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm glad the site has a "view thumbnail" option... these images are too big for my for my CGA monitor.
- Criterion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You really don't know much about photography, do you. Note, I've not looked at the images, but can easily conjure up thoughts of multiple exposures and other special effects done in camera just by reading the article title.
- DaysInTheDark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And these are just the ones we know about
- neuropsychguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I haven't seen that one of "Lincoln" in the casket before; however, there is a real picture of Lincoln in the casket in the book: Lincoln: A Photobiography by Russell Freedman. It's not a close-up but you can see the profile of Lincoln's face pretty well. Even though the website states: "But in actuality, the Army did not allow any pictures to be taken of Lincoln in his casket;" they may have tried to stop people but that doesn't mean that they were successful. The photo of "Lincoln" in his casket on the linked website is probably fake though.
I believe this http://www.themortician.20m.com/images/abrahamlincolnfuneral.jpg is the photo in the book but I'm not 100% sure (I don't have a copy of it with me). - kryptobs2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ok, thanks for that insight
- jhshukla, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2it is suffering from digg effect as of 7:10 pm EST.
- rubah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Man, I was hoping they'd have that picture of the great big pteradactyl that freakylinks.com had back when I was in fifth grade. We were studying the Civil War then, so I printed it out and showed it to my social studies teacher and she scoffed real hard xD
- t0ny, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I dont hate how isp's treat people. Like mine, I get 3mbit but if I download more then 600mb they kick me down to 1mbit.
I dont like how they give us bandwidth and not expect us to use much of it. - Denver80203, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1sucks
- hicamel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yep, kind of hard to digg something you can't even see
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This sort of photo manipulation is more or less the concept photoshop is based on. Photoshop just makes it several hundred times easier.
- Nydas, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Odd. Still works for me.
- g3buz, on 10/12/2007, -11/+9buried b/c the server is unable to... serve
- amowls, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1iawtc

- miggie, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Guys I dug this same story a year ago. This is a dupe. go to digg.com/users/miggie It's some where there.
- JuyLe, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1The title is lame, the server is already down. Buried.
- Cojawfee, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Where is the one of your mother not being a prostitute? Oh wait,. neither of those were faked.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2These pictures are old.
