Mike needs a new van

michaeloconnell.com — Driving to and from work is something many of us take for granted. But what do you do if you have Muscular Dystrophy and want to live an independent life? You mod your van with the Scott System, a very expensive driving system that allows people with limited mobility, reach and strength to operate it. The downside? A new one costs about 90,000.

    mabe its just me, but i really dont like the idea of someone with muscle problems driving a car on the same road im on with my family.. while i would never suggest he is not capable of driving due to his ailment, i am simply pointing out that his reflex times will no matter what be effected by this disease.

    then again im one of those people that wouldnt allow the elderly to drive for decades on end without ever having to be re-examined when they say have eye surgery, or a stroke...Also i think a persons First DUI should mean the end of there driving for 5-10years.. and that if your convicted a second time you lose it forever!!!..

    Teenagers have the best reflex times of all drivers, yet are seven times more likely to cause an accident. What I want on the road with my family are experienced, mature, insured professionals calmly commuting to work in well-maintained vehicles.

    I can personally vouch for Michael and his cause. We used to work together at Geico Insurance and he really is the hardest worker I know. AND, I can honestly say that his current van is a POS that desperately needs to be replaced!

    I second that, too many kids want to go as fast as they can after getting their licences.
    Mike's more likely to be a better driver than many of them, having to work harder to get it.

    Yeah, I honestly don't see how his reaction time could be a factor anyway... the van is specially made with buttons... buttons can't be hard to manuvuer quickly.... the guy's smart... his brain works... probably better than most lol... so with that van's equipment I'd be willing to be he can react just as quick or even quicker than anyone else.

    I'd be a lot more worried about the drunk drivers... tired truck drivers... and fired up teens than a 30-something-CAR INSURANCE salesman.
