- dunn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just can't wait to see someone make a usb or firewire distilling device. With software that lets you control the percent alcohol.
- motionblur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This story was submitted by Bo and Luke Duke. :-P
- CompIsMyRx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think that this might best be achieved with a P4 prescott w/HT. That processor would be the hottest.
- streetbeav3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0very kool :)
- oldsk00l, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh man, now this is wild.
Who'da thunkit? - stoobers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0WARNING: the first little bit of alcohol that distills is TOXIC methanol, not ethanol (drinking alcohol). Methanol causes blindness and death. The first few cc's is called the "foreshot" and should always be discarded. The author should NOT have tasted this first fraction. Chuck the first few drops. The rest is the good stuff. Stop when about 1/5 of the original fluid remains. If you use unhopped barley wine (or even beer) as the starting liquid, you will get malt whiskey :)
- cys006, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is pretty cool, but I would still use my idea of scraping an old electric frying pan with the nice temperature dial.
- jmccorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Mix this with the concept of Kabala water and you can have some very interesting imprints on your spirits.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ehh use an IBM PowerPC chip in the current Apple machines. It will give your alcohol that fruity taste.
- burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is awesome. Unfortunately, his computer died... I would throw a peltier junction between the processor and the brass box, and possibly another between the heatsink and the fan (just for good measure :) )
All in all this is an awesome project. - sock2828, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0cool but weird
- KdoggMDF, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thats pretty cool.
- dunn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0He probably used silver solder if he plans on drinking any of it
- ScootUnder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll give him points for creativity, but i still like the "disappearing still" because you can get rid of it in 15 seconds, unless you have a few drums of mash laying around.
-scooter - Magellan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Uhm .... he used solder to make the CPU box .... Wonder if he knows that Solder == Lead Poisoning
Uhm ya I'll have to find my own way of doing this. - phishyJon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ill be set once they make the pentium 4 microbrew
- EddieW, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0That is ausome! I mite try it :P
