- smtelegadis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+58I tried it out on my PDA.
The results are SWEET! - orenthal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42if only this worked with tatoos. i dont know what i was thinking when i got that ZDTV tatoo on my arm.
- NJank, on 10/12/2007, -5/+31that's not because of the sugar...
- dotlizard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23it is even worse 'netiquette' to correct someone for correcting someone else's spelling. ooh, and worse yet to correct someone for correcting someone for correcting someone else's spelling! no one should ever do *that*. it's terribly rude.
- GravyTrain6, on 10/12/2007, -7/+25yea stop making up ghey words....geez
- uptown, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Removie? Don't you hate how your brain thinks one word, and your fingers think another word?
- lbjazz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I had a Cingular logo on my phone, and all it took was my fingernail and half an hour of boredom to removie it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15"lower back tattoo..."
All the customers at the strip club however, will see it clearly. - dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12"i dont know what i was thinking when i got that ZDTV tatoo on my arm."
You were drunk. Drunk with the love of one sophisticatedly greying Leo Laporte. Oh, Leo, take me back to MSNBC... - BobMysterioso, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I hate promotional stickers on things. The kind that don't come off easy. I don't care if the receiver is DTS and 7.1 and whizbang, I know it is, thats why I bought it. But there are those stupid promotional stickers that usually just come right off with no residue. But then sometimes, they stick, and you try each and every corner trying to get it not to tear, but it does.
I hate that. - deadbaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I absolutely freaking HATE corporate logos on my stuff. It's insulting to me to spend the money on a device and be forced to have these ugly logos sticking out like an eye sore. I think the worst example are PC laptops. They plaster the machines with tacky stickers that look terrible once they absorb a little hand sweat and start to peel. It's disgusting.
Just say no to corporate shillery. - Sixcolors, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7And as a bonus you have a pan full of caramel.
- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11"This is no time for puns, Shaman!" -- Dragon Quest IV
...Okay, no more Dragon Quest for me. - XStatic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Instead of scratching:
Heat up until melted some sugar in a non-stick skillet add a spoonfull of water to get it started.
Take a qtip and apply to logo, let cool, pull off and the logo is gone.
Not responsible for meted pans, damaged phones, or damage to your smoothtop cooktop if you drip the syrup on it. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7"Tramp stamp"
- osbjmg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Debadging for your phone FTW!
- stuffhappens, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7@Rikkochet:
Hmm - strange thing is that it's my experience that people who don't speak English as their first language make the best proof readers as they are often taught English to a higher standard than native speakers. - nights0223, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4That's what "goo-gone" is for.
- crawfishsoul, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Zippo lighter fluid works better than wd40 for removing glues and sticker residue, and doesn't leave a lubricant all over your item being cleaned.
Worked at a grocery store in high school, my boss made me go through the entire store to remove the left over scotch tape from years of hanging signs. Worst day of work of my life, but I can remove tape like nobody's business now. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I was thinking the same, but then I noticed his papers in the background all appeared to be German, so I gather English isn't his mother tongue. Forgiven!
- GravyTrain6, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i'm glad they added the movies....they were helpful
- Vokas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Just say no to corporate shillery."
What? You just bought the friggen device...maybe you should take your own advice. - ChuckS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2....ooooor you can just go to your PANTRY, and use sugar, for free...
- TylerDurden0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You? I got "The Screen Savers" across my chest. Feel your pain, hell...
- ptrcd003, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ok, how many people thought Sugar was the name of a program that removes the logo from phone firmware>]?
- TylerDurden0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Or "The Simple Life"
- probeta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I don't have any legos stuck to my phone.
- craigtheguru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If I had gadgets with logos I disliked I'd surely try this sweet (ha!) trick, but luckily my gadgets are tasteful and are not festooned with tacky logos. Thanks for the writeup and vid though!
- TimRogers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I so badly want to do this ^_^ If/when I do I'll post an image of the results - I might try white spirit or alchohol.
- ka0tic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well as cool as it sounds, it's gonna look weird when me and my friend have the same phone and my logo isnt there but his is. It'll seem as if I brought a cheap knock off
- Drumrboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2will this work on a motorola Q?
it would be so cool to take the "Verizon" logo off the leno-esq chin :P - myheaditches, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3You're a candidate for STFU. I'll let you know in three days if you win! Good luck!
- drizek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1im pretty sure he meant $8.00
- Dragular, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You guys don't know nothin. I've got Duke Nukem Forever tattoed on my left shoulder, with the announced release dates running down below it, scratched out, until it reaches my hand with the words "When it's done."
Oh the life of a nerd-who-enjoys-tattoos is sad... - slavun, on 09/17/2009, -0/+1http://bgsportal.blogspot.com
- gooru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've done this sort of thing using rubbing alcohol as well. Sometimes, it works. Sometimes, it doesn't.
- sarlok, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I know a similar technique for tattoos that an acquaintance of mine used. Ingredients: One fifth of your favorite liquor and a pumice stone. Drink the bottle, rub out the tattoo with the stone. It won't hurt much until the next day.
Yes, he really did this, and yes, it really worked. - reddit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Freudian slip :)
- EochaidRiata, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've used "Goo Gone" for this purpose and it works perfectly.
Image: http://www.magicamerican.com/gg_images/GG3_big.gif - TransmitThis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1A dab of white spirit works for me
you could also use toothpaste on tougher materials
and for any gunk or glue residue a squirt of wd40 does the trick - PDave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Now if they'll only come up with a similar tutorial to remove the cheap stickers from the back of cars: "Johnson Lexus of Durham." Yuck. I just spent $50,000, don't put a cheap ad on the back of my new car.
- NightRush, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I put it on my screen when it booted up to get rid of the TELUS logo. Now I cant see :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just get a 3 dollar can of lacquer thinner from any hardware store.. (contains toluene, acetone, and methanol)
wet paper towel with it, and rub over any logo, gently. in 10 seconds any logo that has been painted on (99.999% of them) will disappear. - bacon_skoda, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3that is until they watch MTV.
- andellmoon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2This is neat.
- JrGhoull, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0haha neat, i hate it when theres some name of a company starin me up at the face and i cant do anything about it.
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2"I wonder if this will work on my "Panasoic" DVD player that I bought for $800 in a New York pawn shop. Ebay, here I come!"
hehe, Thanks for the cash! *goes off to buy more 30 buck DVD players and write Panasonic on them" - generalleoff, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2I have a "panasoonic" cordless phone I got from an China Town in L.A. for $5. Cheap Chinese name brand knock offs are just funny. I to hope you meant $80 and not $800. Even $80 is a lot unless it was 5 years ago.
- zerg445, on 10/12/2007, -16/+11This is so awesome, and it makes me hungry! DUGG!
- lucaq, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2nice trick, i usually try light solvents first, but this might be a better choice for a first try...
