- lego, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5This can be accomplished without adding an extension to your Firefox installatiion. Right click on the page and click 'View page info' Then in the 'Media' tab, look for the video file (it'll be under the type 'Embeded') and click "Save as".

- greggish, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0eRaserHed, that's true about the portable version of an flv player, but the 2 FLV players I tried have problems resizing the vid, and don't let you resize it to any size by just dragging the border like mplayer does. Also, I find mplayer is less cpu intensive when playing. I'll get straight 100% cpu usage with an flv player yet about 60-70% cpu with mplayer on a flash vid. And, as I mentioned, mplayer will play just about everything else as well and is a pretty small download. But, no harm in using whatever you're comfortable with...

You don't have to install mplayer. Just unzip it to a folder and stick it on your desktop. When opening the flash vid just do "open with" browse to mplayer.exe and choose "always open with". Mplayer will play just about everything and doesn't insist on being installed in windows. Also, mplayer lets you drag and re-size the vid easily, some of the FLV players don't let you re size by dragging. - rebelyell2k5, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1definitly been needed.. very useful.
