- retral, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Most of these don't look very good... Where are the real 'coolest' ones like gnome's Orac-3 & such?
http://www.bit-tech.net/content_images/orac3_part5/Front800wWMk.jpg - znxster, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Don't know about "coolest" but it was worth a view.
- wqwert, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7! Mods ! Please remove this user
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Needs more Digg case mod:
http://www.computer-choppers.com/projects/digg/digg-project.htm
Ya I know, it isn't finished yet :p - demortes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It's better to mod a computer for it than to bury a child in it... It'd also be unreal to have a full coffin on your desk.
- j0c1f3r, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7meh....the R2D2 mod is cool...the V8 and HL2 not bad.....the rest though.......?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Were they drunk/High when they compiled the "Coolest PC Mods?"
- vdog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Pretty good, but there's a better compilation here:
http://www.neatorama.com/case-mod/index.php
edit: it's been dugg before:
http://digg.com/hardware/Craziest_Computer_Case_Mods - Simba_Is_Moses, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3there were a few that would never be practical...call me weird but i dont want my computer to be a the size of a piano let alone a real piano...and i actually stray away from having it look like a toilet that has ***** coming out...
- JeffH, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I've seen a lot better (most notably the PC case mod that made the case look like a nuclear bomb), but some of them are really good.
- headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Why would someone turn a lawn mower into case mod? You must have far too many computers laying around your house to do that.
- pete10203, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2yyeeeaaaaa coral cache
- Botrax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Here is a cool one that I have seen at a LAN, computer in a briefcase in March 2005. When opening the case, the guy actually had an LCD screen in there also.

Why are there about 3000 cables in that pc? - kriminalintent, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4This is one of my fav's. So much detail...

- Enisin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It's a crying shame that none of these mods have descriptions (like the coffin). From what I know, the tray & coffin door is controllable through hydraulics with the buttons on the side. The mod overall was pretty sweet from the top, as the mod had a lighted interior all the way around inside. (That was a really bad picture of it) It took about 4 people to carry it overall (It wasn't that heavy). It won first place at the mod competitions at the CPL & Quakecon around 2002. I don't really think it's a baby coffin though, it's more of a children's coffin. A bit less grotesque :P.
- Prototek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Total weak sauce mods with bad picture quality.
- docholoday, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Agreed. With the exception of the HL2 case, those were pretty sad. You want real case mods, go check out thebestcasescenario.com or some of the stuff in the HardOCP forums.
- anotherjeff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That R2D2 mod made me piss in my pants.
- dchaosdx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1r2d2, v8, and cardboard box = fits the name of the article
the rest = trash. i could take my hateway box, spray paint it with random colors in random patterns, and it'd win #4 on that list. - Llanowar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2*gives you a ribbon*
- AngryBoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's a lot of lots!
- HsoKinees, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1that list is terrible, http://metku.net/modgallery/ has tonnes of mods that look alot better than those!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The HL2 and Cardboard box mods were awesome XD...
- belchbutter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2all of that work for doom 3
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Sweet. Bots are awesome
- stoppedcode12, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Lego and the HL2 mods were the best!
- NorwoodMatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, from the neatorama site, my favorite is dark blade:
http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php?p=1339097&postcount=1772 - Ryan001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2are you *****' kidding me?
- waahooo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I remember there was a very cool mod that was based off a PS2 design featured in a computer magazine (I forgot the name), but I haven't been able to find it since. Anyone know of what I'm talking about?
- nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Some of them are cool and/or clever (warning sign is cool, cardboard box one is funny, piano mod is kinda neat) but then you see ones like the red car mod and it's so ghetto you can't help but laugh at it. The R2D2 one was pulled off really well, though that's not my sort of thing really. The wedding cake mod is cool _only_ if that's in a shop that does wedding stuff. It's an ok compilation, but not the "coolest" imo.
- JimMessenger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My son would enjoy the Lego mod for Christmas.
- tgmoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Some of these are sketchy in quality.. but the Lite Brite one is just amazing!
- cowbite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, I think "coolest" is stretching it a bit. "Amusing Case Mods" would be more fitting. Some are geniune 'kick ass' mods like the Half Life case but most are just wacky, silly things.

GG~ - Ryan001, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1amazing work!
- ramsinks.com, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Evedently they missed "Doom III"
yoshi.us.
It's freaky when you know most of these guys via a first name.
;) - link470, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I saw the aircraft carrier and immediately thought of Yoshi from The Screen Savers, I believe he designed that one. If I remember right, the lights on board blink in time with harddrive/network activity etc. It's pretty awsome, that mod will always stick out as a favorite for me.
- Mmedia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Those pictures were cool for what they were I like www.media-post.net
- dampeal, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2one of the all time greatest mods is The Mystery Machine! http://www.dragonsteelmods.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=88&Itemid=32
- VSack, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1No Doom mod, no Digg.
idiotwithastick has the link right above. That is a sick unit. - Tricky, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Better than I could do.
