- st3vo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15Digg PC gets my digg.

http://www.extremetech.com/slideshow_viewer/0,1205,l=&s=27752&a=213633&po=38,00.asp
I have that coffee table, now if only I can convince my girl to let me do it.......... - anagoge, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11I bet every one of these has been submitted to Digg individually.
- ChronicFiles, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Theres a ton more at http://pileofphotos.com/view/148/Computer-case-mods have a few listed here but lots more
- awk101, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Nat Both's Simplicity Case gets my vote!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5WTF is with the Bawls case?
- EXreaction, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Eh, I have seen better.
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3There's always the weekends.
- awgg919, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Ha. I like the Cardboard one the best. It matches the crappy CRT monitor.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The dragon case gets my vote for sure.
- Sinistral, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The description of the case provided the information. They used an R/C 1/6 scale Batmobile, gutted it, and turned it into a PC case. It wasn't someone who built the Batmobile by scratch building or some such.
- outlaw686, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The optimus prime pc would be cool if it transformed into a normal looking pc
- ivorylion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I am sure they took a ton of work to make and I applaud the effort and creativity, however, at the end of the day I wouldn't trade a single one of them for my Power Book. There's well made and then there's well designed.
- toxie86, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2i love the RSS feeds on the digg case also the cardboard case looks pathetic =p but i love it =]
- FatherG, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2More like a Dashi.
- Gir53457, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Oh case mods! How I have missed you from digg!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Thanks, glad you like it. Will be in CPU magazine sometime later this year.
- eatbeefjerky, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Time spent on Newegg.com choosing parts - 2-3 hours, tops if you know what you're doing
Time spent paying for said parts - 15 minutes
Time spent putting computer together - 2 hours, tops.
You seriously can't come up with 5 hours of time? Your argument doesn't even make sense, you don't HAVE to buy a flashy case with lights and whatnot, most of the ones that come with those lights are cheap and crappy anyway. Besides, if you "work all the time" and don't have time to order a PC then how do you suppose you're going to find time to use it? - dillibob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2the cardboard and pirate rum one were my personal favs
- zdiggler, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Gotta have at least one carboard case.
- Skanadian, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2http://www.bit-tech.net/modding/2006/09/18/Temple_of_Nod/1
Temple of Nod > All - MacSuxWindozSux, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Kind of like what people do to Cars and Motor Bikes?
You're calling Jesse James a pothead?
Apology accepted. - dillibob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1holy ***** those were awsome
- jeshjohn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I have seen the optimus prime one in person at quakecon it is great.
- toxie86, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1holy crap there some really awesome mods there!
- UlicBelouve, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I gather they did the Orac3 Case (linked in the article), which is my favorite one. Though this one is very nice as well.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Ya the Digg case is for sale to make room for the next big project.
http://www.computer-choppers.com/gallery.htm - TotalHalibut, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Pics or gtfo?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Modding doesn't necessarily end at computer cases. I tend to mod lots of electronics in general (comps, laptops, tv's, consoles, etc). I just did a Macbook Pro Apple logo in diamonds. It's more about individualizing these things so you don't just blend in with the crowd. Here's the apple logo in diamonds btw :D http://www.computer-choppers.com/pics/dapple1.jpg
- prydonian93, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You wouldn't work for digg, would you? ;)
No, but i quite agree. digg PC - oMeSSiaHo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You're right it is a Diashi. After I looked at it again my comment vanished and I couldnt edit it.
- LucasKane, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1How the hell did they make that batmobile case
- MoFoKeR, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1im getting me one of those simplicity case..great for the test rig
- bolson7117, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1awgg919: Just to let you know the cardboard case is mine i did for a high school art project, just thought id let you know. What you don't see is a laser engraving on the side.
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Atlas has a head and humanoid style knee joints, Mac Cat has a cockpit/nose shaped head/torso.
Looks like a Dashi I agree. - azntiger1000, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Wow simply amazing. I wish I had that kind of talent to work with. I would narrow my results down to batmobile, digg, and the spiderman case. Really nice.
- seraph582, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It makes me feel good knowing that people are out there doing this and being proud of it instead of everyone having the same bland looking macs/dells/etc. One thing I bet the "style" mongering macfanats are pissed about is that the best looking computers in the world will always be PC's thanks to the efforts of people like these.
Bravo! - MiDri, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You would be surprised.
- DanThingo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1yoshi.us/forums
- superal1394, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Its a big ass table...
- ramsinks.com, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Jeff still doing his thing. Always a tight job.
yoshi.us ownz foolz - jggr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15 hours at the outside.
Last PC I built took about 2-3 hours from walking in the front door of the store and first boot of the OS. Although, since it was Windows (gaming machine), I had to spend a few hours updating and such, but that'll happen if you buy it off the shelf anyway. (Gotta format that drive to get all the crap they put on for you.) - PJBovoNox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's more of an ATX 'tray' :)
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Nope. I don't have any real computer stills. Just know what makes a computer look good.
- ripstuntz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That Digg PC is pure genius. Dugg.
- dewfish, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1apparently big ass tables are the future....
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Ya I tend to get that.
- oMeSSiaHo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2That mech case is not an Atlas, it looks like a Mad Cat.
Personally I'm not really impressed by cases that look like things. The best designs are original and put function and design over style. The best case is one that makes you go "Damn, why didnt I think of that!". -
