- d3m3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+69I'd like to see a video when he forgets to refill the tank of nitrogen.
- sencha5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26Pfft. you can't find O2 anywhere.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26its not that hard to buy a new computer... im 14 and mow lawns for my money. i built a decent system for under 500 :D
- soogy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Oblivion is multithreaded, am I wrong? So, you'd only be able to do one at a decent speed. Why would you render videos and do anything else at the same time?
Beisdes, that's not an overclocking record. The highest recorded is 7435.75MHz. http://valid.x86-secret.com/records.php - Sonizel, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18i'd love to render videos and play oblivion on that beast at the same time
- dogside, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Heh, I have seen a non-cooled overclocking video. I like exploding processors.....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14DEY TOOK ERR JORBZ!
Shut the ***** up. If the job was so simple a non-english speaking person could do it, maybe you should find a better job. And how do you know they're illegal? I work with a legal from south america and he's one of the best guy's I've ever worked with.
Xenophobic *****. - leohart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Probably as old as (umm, half of our diggers)
- templest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I don't question the validity of your comment. What I find shocking is that you could have had something *that* old beside your toilet for so long, and still have had the balls (no pun intended) to pick it up with your bare hands.
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"Even if these are very impressive numbers, we were been confident in a partially unexpressed potential of the cpu. We were in a truth!"
All your base are belong to us! - CrazyNorman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Format the thing and reinstall Windows, or give Linux a shot. Either way, It'll run just like it did when you got it five years ago, just fine.
- matt0baba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@camtech..check ur facts... hindenburg was filled with Hydrogen... hydrogen is really combustible... nitrogen is stable...
- soogy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7@otherland
Oh, yeah. Those "illegals" are making kids hang out at the mall! Damn, that explains EVERYTHING!!
How about those kids get off their lazy, fat, McDonald's-filled asses and actually try to get a job? There are jobs for anyone who is willing to actually work on getting one. Don't give me any of that "jobs taken by immigrants" *****.
If you see people hanging out at the mall, it's not because they don't have jobs. They either have jobs and are hanging out at the mall, or don't have jobs and are hanging out at the mall.
By the way, as long as I can remember, pizza shops have been primarily owned by immigrants (in my experience), which would explain why the drivers are also immigrants. Trying to help out their own people, just like how Americans would help a fellow American. But then again, I'm assuming the good in people, which I should obviously not do in your case.
Stupid racist bastard, simply buying into what you hear on TV and joining in on the fun.
And back on topic, @AKBryant54
Delete what you don't need. If you don't already have your hard drive partitioned, resize the main partition and another "backup" partition. Put your stuff onto there, erase the main partition, install whatever OS you desire. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I have a magazine in my bathroom, that is raving all over the brand new Pentium chips at up to 75mhz. They say they will blow the literal drive doors off your crusty ass 486DX2-66.
(true story. dont ask how old the mag iz) - jackal123, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6He didn't have a question to begin with.
- gotamd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Ummm, I thought that was Hydrogen ;)
- vertigoblue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5that was the worst comment evaarr...
- ZenKai, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Wow. The first computer you WANT to freeze up. How the tables have turned...

Nitrogen != hydrogen - TheQT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Sure it calculated pi in record speed but isn't that not too processor intensive."
I don't think you know what you are talking about. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Today

CPU - jakethecake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4What's extreme is how the core 2 duo is going to kill when it comes out in july. /coming from a hardcore AMD OC guy like me http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1444368&postcount=51
^Laptop processor 'Merome' clocked around 'Conroes' default.

PiFast - matt0baba, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6@AKbryan umm the atmosphere is made from abt 70% nitrogen and abt 20% oxygen .. so why are we not blowing up yet... its because nitrogen is not flamable .
EDIT earths atmosphere is 79% nitrogen and 20% O2 (oxygen) - Sabin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Impressive till you consider that a core duo OCd to 3.8 will beat that superpi time by almost 3 seconds using nothing more than simple phase change cooling.
http://digg.com/apple/Core_Duo_successfully_over-clocked_to_3.8Ghz - silentdud, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5and it probably never booted again...
- Sabin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I remember my Pentium 75 well. 8 megs of ram, 850MB hard drive and a 4x cd-rom. $3000 CAD well spent.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You know what else is interesting? A golfer with an arm coming out of his ass.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5yeah but can it play Doom 3?
- Jozer99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not everything is famable in Oxygen. Spectoscopy works by heating things up to very high temperatures, not "burning" them. Burning means that the thing will combine with the oxygen to form an oxidized compound. Heating up in flame does not require the molecules to bind with oxygen. "burning" something would actually interfere with the results of the test, as the oxidized molecules emit light differently than non-oxidized molecules.
- lopresmb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Dugg simply because I work with LN2 every day. Man is that stuff cold.
- chaosmachine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i remember my 4mhz 8086 :P
dos 3.2 for life. - h4lofourt33n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I hate to say it, but you've seen one, you've seen them all. Still cool though, I like this heatsink a lot.
- walugi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Apparently liquid nitrogen costs less than milk. Well in Australia anyways
- jakethecake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2haha, it's massively intensive, that's why we have clustered supercomputers doing it
- Phocion55, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Cool.
.....and in 10 years we're all gonna be laughing at this article.
dugg. - tonyhartfield, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i'm 19 and i remember those days lol
- TheQT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No, just the first 1 million decimals.
- tonyhartfield, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3calculating pi isnt processor intensive lol wtf?!
- olegk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2almost anything is flammable in oxygen, even metals. That's how they do spectroscopy, as far as I remember - they burn stuff in oxygen and look for spectrum bands.
- dugee81, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5soogy: if you read more closely, they said it's a record for that type of cpu. i mean unless im just really stupid (which is probably true), doesn't that make it a record? not trying to prove you wrong, thats just what i read :S
- soogy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@AKBryant54:
squishedfly wasn't telling you to mow lawns. He was giving you an example. Hell, when I was your 14, I was working part-time as my own employer doing websites. Look up the hot deals at sites like Andandtech forums or [H]ardforum, and many other sites like it. You can build a cheap system for all the latest games for under $500, starting from scratch.
And why do you need both a Wii and Xbox 360? Kids these days. Spending even when they have no money. - templest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Jesus! This is almost as overclocked as a car that does 8000 miles to the gallon
- enigmattic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Fool.
Liquid Nitrogen is not flammable, nor is it used in compressed air.
Compressed air is Difluoroethane, which is flammable. - Clearz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I had an older friend back in 1995. My parents were gonna buy a Pentium 75 and he advised me not to go for a pentium and get a 486DX2-66. I said go for the pentium. Now im a software engineer at 25 and he is claiming government benifits.
- millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What about the DEVELOPERS! DEVELOPERS! DEVELOPERS! DEVELOPERS!
- killa62, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3yeah, except the stuff in the compressed air can isnt liquid nitrogen
- templest, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Sure it calculated pi in record speed"
Wait, wait... back-up here... The machine actually found a concrete solution to Pi? - tylerni7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can't even get a match near a container of liquid nitrogen, because it goes out before it get's close because NITROGEN IS NOT FLAMMABLE.
- Brennan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I guess you missed his superpi time.
- sroerick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hey, guess what??
7+ ghz overclocked processors are in the minority too! -
