- quoigonfishin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Will Duff cans work?
- neocitron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6in Canada we call Labatt water....
- Technopundit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5For a video demonstration of how to drink 25 oz of beer, without the possibility of it going even the least bit flat, reference Kevin Rose at diggnation.com.
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5More proof that Canadian Beers rocks.
- strangerzero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Nothing say class like a Duff Beer can Wifi antenna.
- dimplemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Guinness cans are the perfect size for regular antennas ?
BRILLIANT!! - gaoshan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Your normal "drunk" beer is Labatt??!! Sheesh what are you, made of cash? In my day we drank Black Label out of dust covered 6-packs that the Vietnamese guy at the Mini-mart would sell to us, without checking our ID, for 99 cents. When I got to college, we made do with the musty, salt flavored goat urine called Milwaukee's Best (aka. Beast and Beast Light.) When we were flush with cash we might spring for a dented six of Schlitz (ignoring the guaranteed next-day Schlitz Squirts that would have us scrambling for the crapper every half hour), a warm 40 of OE (Old English 800... more sweaty ball drippings than malt beverage) or if we were really lucky a soggy, cardboard packed twelve of Theta Mu (that's Old Milwaukee for those not in the know. See the "O" and the "M" on the bottle cap look just like a Theta and a... oh never mind).
Labatt Blue... Oh what I wouldn'ta given for just one bottle of such rarefied ambrosia. Sheesh, you spoiled rich kids got no perspective. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2haha, i love the part "behold! the beerquad!"
- hodyoaten, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Aren't Keystone Light cans similar in size to Guinness? That would be just the thing to roll out technology to the rural areas.
- coreyfro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I savor my drink! If I wanted to get smashed, I'd drink Bacardi.
- super_spyder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ewww, i had keystone light the other day for the first time....... GODDAMN it was awful it was like when i wasn't looking the lady at the checkout stand pissed in all my beer cans and sold it to me as a joke. i had a 12 pack minus 1 (i drank 1/2 of one and threw it away.... it felt like a sin throwing away beer, but i convinced myself i wasn't throwing away beer, it was horse piss and all was ok) in my refrigerator for like a month until i went to a party and dumped them on those poor souls.
- YouKnowHim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Too bad Canadian beer is pasteurized before it enters the US. Good thing I live in NY 2 hours away from the real stuff in Canada. Nice work on the antenna though!
- pillfred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ah Old English 800 lol, try drinkig a 64oz before it gets warm. lol i tired but only once.
- kaidovak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2All digg does is let people link to cool stuff. This isn't ripping anyone off, it's pointing straight to them.
- r3zim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dugg, because i had a labatt tonight. Now if i can only cut this bottle....
- chadtatro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1mirror guys? images are dugg.
- 12340987, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1would a 1/2 wave quad work better? Cause TV antennaes are ~4ft, which is 1/2 wave.
- mattrmcg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1once again beer helps the honest hard working college student
- dmaul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0While the implementation is spectacular and diy is great, a high quality antenna that powerful is not $100.
You can pick one up for about $25 that will be 100% weather proof, have proper hookups, and will be a quarter the size. those crazy antenna builders have it all down.
Very nice for his first antenna. - coreyfro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Never underestimate the price of COOOOOL!
- coreyfro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I seriously hope people take the term and go with it. I wanna see every beer on earth (with the right sized cans) be turned into a Beerquad
- NinjAlt, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Since when did digg.com become the "LETS RIP OFF HACKADAY WITHOUT CREDIT!" website? Seriously. These people submit their stuff to hackaday, give them atleast a little credit because you KNOW thats where you got it from.
- coreyfro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Crap! I'll provide images if someone hosts them. I'm on a tiny pipe.
- HeatM311, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0To bad my laptop has built in wifi keeping a beer can antenna. Would be great for keeping in the carry case amd would bring up many conversations with co workers
- coreyfro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They are moderately oversized. That means room for screwups and artistic license.
The labbats cans are the "perfect" size. Meaning buy two and cut true. - sgtpinky, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Is your Canada day like our Australia Day? The day when the white Europeans came and wiped out all the indigenous people? This year it was a rather controversial issue whether or not we should celebrate Australia Day. My personal stance is that I am not going to be held accountable for something I didn't do. That's history.
- kd1s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sweet! Problem is that I don't tend to drink beer or ale out of a can. I usually either get it right from the tap or in a bottle.
- ellisgl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wouldn't a full wave per section be better? Only one way to find out - make a 1/4 wave version - make a 1/2 wave and try doing a full wave unit.
Corey - I think he was talking about using 1/2 wave - not the actual antenna (I thought the same thing when I first read it.). - ellisgl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Also I'm showing that 2.401 GHz (Ch. 1 (lower)) to be 31.24 mm and 2.473 GHz (Ch 11 (upper)) to be 30.33 mm from http://www.csgnetwork.com/freqwavelengthcalc.html based on quater wave.
- redpickle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That it does my friend, that it does.
- coreyfro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Their waves are WAY bigger than 2.4GHz.
33.5mm is 1/4 wave of 2.4GHz. Beyond that, I don't know which is better. This is my first rig. - coreyfro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Because you drink it so frequently, or because it's like sex in a canoe?
- sapo916, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2This guy cant drink 25oz of Beer without it going flat.. what a fag.
Im sorry but I had to say it. - nkassi, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3There too cheap for that. The Duff compagny had to make some changes after Homer went on his hunger strike years back. It Cut a lot into there profits.
