- jellyroll713, on 10/12/2007, -3/+38Nice edit there... "waste of time" to "work of art".. Or did it just magically change itself?
- pgup, on 10/12/2007, -6/+34You are wrong, that thing is a piece of art.
- jellyroll713, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24It may be his first mod, but this guy has to have a pretty well grounded knowledge of design.
- zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18So where do you put the batteries? Oh and how do you kill it when it turns against you?
- breakbeat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17and yet, you have an account on digg...
- BigEasy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Pretty impressive for a first effort, but... I don't know. It seems to have a distinctly "everything and the kitchen sink" look to it.
- saudukargeneral, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14owned :)
- Falldog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Hey now, remember that racing stripes add anywhere between 30-50 horsepower. LED’s and random acrylic must do wonders for his flop count.
- breakbeat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9He makes it looks so easy.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9How many extra FPS did that net ya? Very...pretty...but reminds me of kids who put fart cans on their Honda Civics. All show...no go.
***** what the case looks like. Fill it with fast goodies and shove it under your desk. - clide, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Far too busy for my tastes, but he did a great job on the fabrication. Of course he had a laser cutter to do most of the work though.
- garethevans, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Can you imagine spotting a leak in the watercooling with that? What a mess.
- MackPrime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5a CASE MODDER likes SCIENCE FICTION.
an outrage. - danakin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Gladly.
- cogsprocket, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Orac looks like a freaking space heater though. I mean as nice as it may look I've no doubt there's airflow and heat dissipation issues there.
- NeoPlatonist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3My case isn't all that much to look at therefore it is shoved deep under my desk. I, personally, don't think I'll ever buy or try to make a really awesome looking case. Not worth the money on my college student budget. That said, I have a lot of admiration for case modders. I have seen some pretty amazing designs and I am fascinated by how people go about fabricating things like this.
- vonskippy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4It's a case, your computer guts go in it, like his trashed out toolbox, why bother to decorate it (unless of course you're a girl and you're into putting hand knitted tea cozy covers on everything).
- s14sh3r, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7That thing is wicked looking. I'd love to have something similar sitting on my desk.
- shirtninjay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@brad06
Haha, ok. You got it, attention seeker. - drilldown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2MMMMmmmmm.... Me so Horny.
Nothing beats a good book with fabulous cover art!
Full size ATX+ case; the things I can imagine inside of it. Indecent system thoughts of speeds bordering on the illegal dancing through my head. Gives me chills. - NobleArc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm sorry, but that's just awesome.
- cybermerge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, that's truly inspiring. I wonder how much he spent on all those custom laser-cut parts.
- Falldog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I never got the crazy enthusiasm behind water cooling. In my experience wire management and good airflow can do just as good of a job (if not more so) at much less the cost.
- samanathon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3What a great looking case! I wish I had the vision to see the finial product of such a creative idea!
- darkened, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah so a company that does water cooling needs to sponsor this guy and hook him up with the water cooling units he's lacking and use his pc in their advertisements!
- TeqnoHaxor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's ***** sick.
- tornpage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That bottle of oxygen in his room looks fun :)
- mathue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks pretty cool! He's certainly more of a modder than most of the people I see around. While I might find it a touch busy I can't fault him on making something that looks quite a bit more unique than the typical "Ooo, lookie, I have a UV fan and a Cold Cathode tube in my case man! that I see everywhere."
- Callidus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"I have one regret about this project - after spending a lot of cash on all the hardware, the mod parts and the laser cutting, I didn't actually have enough money left to buy a decent watercooling kit! This means that I have lots of neatly routed hosing around the case, but no components inside. Oh well, maybe next time!"
That sucks :(. - burke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Man, I'd love one of those. I could sell it and buy a Sun workstation! ;)
That is pretty awesome though. - mrkmrk, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5My gf likes the fact that I built my own compy. Boo-yah, bitch.
- msgyrd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1http://www.lian-li.com/
Less is more. - dextermanas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Case mods are passe. The in thing now is to *not* use a case at all and/or try to hide (integrate) the components in the desk/monitor etc.
There's nothing more geekier than having a live naked cpu on your desk :P - RedeyeAP, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Hey, that looks pretty dang good. See so many people who crank out mediocre case mods. It is refreshing to see one that has some style.
- realyst, on 10/12/2007, -7/+6Damn pretty.
I want one:) - Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Wait, this is November, time to stick a mobo in a turkey and call it the latest mod.
- Recluse, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Looks damn good. I wouldn't mind having that case for myself.
- RadiatedAnt, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1He speaks therefore I dugg.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1this case is so great! wow!
- estvir, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Okay, so he has the same case as me and there are a lot of instructions.
Expect either "Booyah, check out my new case !" or "This was a bad idea.. /shakes head" comment from me. Expect it to be the latter one.
Anyway, quite an awesome case. - brad06, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4@breakbeat
What does an account here have to do with it? Last I checked, this isn't "News for Nerds."
@mrkmrk
Your gf is either glad you saved money by building it yourself so that you can buy her more things, or ugly. Probably both. - combatchuck, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2It's nice, but Orac3 was better.
http://www.bit-tech.net/modding/2003/09/16/orac3_part5/1.html - brad06, on 10/12/2007, -18/+10Nothing says "I want to be a virgin forever" like a case mod. They are nerdy as hell and a waste of time.
Bury me, nerds. - m0laria, on 10/12/2007, -13/+3Just looked at the pics, it's cool. He should sell em, "hardcore gamers" would eat that ***** up with their mommies credit cards.
- vbsurfer, on 10/12/2007, -24/+11I don't think its that great of a design. It looks overdone and a bit on the corny side if you ask me.
- tektalk, on 10/12/2007, -17/+3That is so uber cool
I guarantee total pwnage in LAN parties - sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -60/+5Looks like a work of art.
