- wallclimber, on 10/12/2007, -2/+131I rarely digg any headlines that use the words "AMAZING" or "AWESOME" in them, but I have to admit I have a soft spot for Legos, and this was pretty...um...dare I say, AMAZING? Yup, it is.
- tzmguitarist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+123The photography was the really amazing part. Perspective, angle and exposure were played up to make the photos look like a believable NYC-scale. Amazing indeed.
- b0wl0fud0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+102Here's a zoomed out picture of the whole thing I found through google images:
http://www.petercurtiss.com/personal/legoland/NYC.JPG - MGTZX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+85I agree. The photography is awesome; but I would like to see an 'aerial' photo of the whole city.
- starvingarvin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+41Is there a birds-eye view to see just how big this is?
- Lorian, on 10/12/2007, -7/+47Holy crap...
Someone has too much rime on their hands. - Pattyo13, on 05/14/2009, -2/+32you know this guy has a lego girlfriend
- misterdiggler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30No taxi cabs. There aren't enough yellow bricks in the world...
- stylesP, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28pro's @work
- cheifchuck0, on 10/12/2007, -6/+25I would like to see some Brooklyn recreations. In my opinion Brooklyn is more "New York" than Midtown Manhattan (which (from what I could tell) is what most of these picture depicted). Midtown is for tourists (I realize I sound like an ass but I live in nyc dammit).
- rodan32, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20I went there on my honeymoon. My wife is WAY too good to me. I built these little cars and raced them against 8-year-olds.
- illinipoke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13What the? I realize that is supposed to be a boom mike but........ That whole scene is interesting.

- Sheir, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Those lego people looked SO REAL!
- Vertabreaker, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14I have to agree with you wallclimber, but wow...that is some really incredible stuff.
- Needle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=771415
Its still a front view but its zoomed out a bit - eyechart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I'm not sure what you are talking about, but Legoland California is still open.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Um... it's in Chicago, jackass.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sears_tower - kevinmotel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8on the one hand you want to just inspect every little nook and cranny for the amazing detail. on the other hand you want to be Godzilla
- kingkilr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Legoland California was magnificent.
I went there once before they closed it and all of the lego models were just so good it made you happy just to be around them. - Goombellaofgoom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Since it's at Legoland someone was probably paid to do it... the lucky jerk(s).
- Morph_Ball, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8"Someone has too much time on their hands."
Since when is that a bad thing? :p - SlowOnTheUptake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Right you are; it is 'amazing' . My favorite is the Chrysler Building, that and the little lego guy trying to sell a fake Rolex in Times Square.
- caliyankee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Dumbass.
Digg needs to set a minimum IQ for account signup. - TurboMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Some interesting shots here, look for the one of the guy in the cherry picker assembling the Freedom Tower. It really gives you an appreciation of the scale.
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=121296 - petroK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7check out the rest of the gallery.. its from legoland. I've always wanted to visit :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Again... the Sears Tower is in Chicago.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sears_tower
Also... how the hell are you living in an OFFICE BUILDING?
Crackhead. - mafisto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6*boggle* Um, the Sears Tower would definitely not make it NYC.
- comradechimp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5No cabs? So what's that? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=960140
- mikedpirone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5not to get too technical here, because they didn't use them, but yes there are lego grass pieces.
- Trashypatches, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Ummm.....the Sears Tower is in Chicago, not NYC
- ikak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5ouch!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4 http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/LEGO-DESIGNER/LEGOLANDCA/MINILAND-SHOTS/NEW-YORK-SKY/miniland-newyork-12.jpg
LOL! 10 points for accurate portrayals. - kingkilr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Are you seroius!
I thought it closed!
OMG PARTY - ricosalomar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think this is the Dakota, where John Lennon was killed. On west 72nd.
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=960101 - ase111, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Holy hell that's good. The Metlife building is a really great depiction.
I did something else before I looked at the page... forgot they were Lego for a bit! - iFelix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4There are four Legoland parks, one in California, one in Windsor, England, one in Germany and the one you are thinking of, Billund in Denmark.
The Billund park is the original.
Each has a miniland, and each is unique to each Park, so California has New York and Windsor has London for example.
http://www.legoland.com/ - Nobi-Wan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The guy should have put Spider-man in there somewhere.
- JCinDE, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Does it have a miniature pervasive urine smell to add that final realistic touch?
I hate New York.
But I love legos. This is cool. - jmchez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3How did the Flatiron building (23rd and Broadway), the Citicorp (51st and Lexington) building and the Helmsley building (44th and Park) all happen to line up? :)
- ozreiuosn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Makes me want to 'digg' out my LEGO's and start playing with them :)
- Zaxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Where is the picture of the city from the sky, something to show the whole thing in a large "fly by" view.
If they had a picture like that it would be a lot better, but for what they do have, good show. - xpaladin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4What I'm wondering is where Lego Godzilla is, and why Lego New York is still standing.
- skinner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Here is a zoomed out shot of the whole thing.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:NYC_Legoland.JPG - sunimoto, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5All subway is under ground in Manhattan.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Just like NYC, but without the piss smell and street muggers.
- TheWolfen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You can still enjoy them! Just make brick films as an excuse to play with Legos!
- DrStrabismus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4They're called LEGOS dummy... They're supposed to be blocky. Put on your freaking glasses...
- chatwithaninja, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Not long enough
- Suplyndmnd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You mean Block-O-Land?
