- Daimwn, on 12/27/2008, -19/+216This is a new build. Not the one that was released a month ago from the developers conference. This is the public build that has features enabled. Stop acting like your the bomb, who spends day and night, on torrent sites and tries out the newest beta software if you don't even know what a version number is. Your not better than anyone else so don't act it. And STFU Linux is not for everyone. It's not an "upgrade" it's a side step....*****.
- sparkmonkeyz, on 12/27/2008, -2/+151So please seed when your done.
- inactive, on 12/27/2008, -11/+107Downloading it..Slow as hell..

- ethana2, on 12/28/2008, -8/+66ACID3 score: still 12.
Web rendering and javascript speed: Still Abysmal.
Platform: Still tied to Windows.
IE: Still a complete and total joke.
In other words, not much. - Abjure, on 12/27/2008, -2/+55It'd probably be a good idea to remove the Microsoft section from your Digg homepage then...
- MedicalMatt, on 12/27/2008, -16/+64who cares??
- jvincent08, on 12/27/2008, -2/+46Despite being a fellow Linux advocate, I had to bury you for being a douche.
- tehchicken, on 12/27/2008, -2/+45Pissing people off with a long post won't make them read it.
- umneycreep, on 12/27/2008, -2/+44waiting for 64bit version...
- NicoNicoNico, on 12/27/2008, -5/+46I'm debating whether I want to download it and run it in Parallels. I don't want to deal with a beta OS on my only pc, but I also want to try it out. It looks so nice, and I'm getting sick of XP.
- SomeHobo, on 12/27/2008, -9/+49While we're on the subject, what happened to IE8 beta?
- Sakumi, on 12/27/2008, -4/+44While I'm sure that was meant for a reply.. I'll let it slide. :P
Linux is a different OS that poses different problems; It's not exactly an upgrade in my book either. - Soave, on 12/27/2008, -4/+43Yeah I'm stoked to run Photoshop on Linux. Wait...
- SpyDerMann, on 12/27/2008, -3/+40Installed it. Slow as hell. (j/k)
- mattcoady, on 12/27/2008, -2/+36I'd be afraid of becoming one of you people.
- Jaliyl, on 12/27/2008, -13/+47Untouched 32bit ISO

Windows 7 32bit Beta 1, still no word on the 64bit. It should be untouched this time.
Notable differences(from build 6801 and 6956):
Faster boot times
Better RAM usage
Actual Updates (6801 doesn't recieve updates anymore and 6956 never did)
IE 8 still sucks
Some powertools I don't remember from 6956, probably because I never used them.
Lots of Win7 threads on /g/ today (possibly nsfw)

- Rikkochet, on 12/27/2008, -3/+36Are you running Windows on an... Emachine?
- anonymous1986, on 12/27/2008, -7/+38sorry to nitpick but "you're"
- Tarmac01, on 12/27/2008, -4/+31The same way they marketed Windows XP after they shipped Windows Millennium.
- dechah, on 12/27/2008, -7/+34This is one sweet OS. All my peripherals work with it flawlessly, and it is snappy and feature rich. I am seriously considering moving over to it from Vista as my full time OS despite it being only a beta.
- HerrWolf, on 12/28/2008, -2/+29@e2superman
You: Living in denial. - 0260, on 12/27/2008, -3/+28I would be getting this now if I had some spare space for a new partition
- searcade, on 12/27/2008, -2/+27Just use something like TL, anyway i uploaded for those who are getting slow speeds and this site has great speeds! its in 1gb rar splits im sharing it first here on digg so if you like it let me know it is the original scene files nothing else inside the archive and no password ;):

- NihilFist, on 12/27/2008, -1/+24It comes pre-installed with Seven
- carbon12, on 12/27/2008, -1/+24No, the previous (build 6XXX) leaks were alphas. This is build 7000, the first public beta which Microsoft is going to officially distribute in about 2 weeks.
- jamwil87, on 12/27/2008, -4/+26Why would you do that?
- creamsteve, on 12/27/2008, -2/+23*****' fanboys are so damn annoying. BTW, Windows 3.1 for life, son.

IE has no "strengths" other than the ability to render made-for-IE-only sites filled with crappy ActiveX. - mgsdeadcell, on 12/28/2008, -6/+26*You're
- macbookhair, on 12/27/2008, -17/+37The link to this torrent is below

- StealthTomato, on 12/28/2008, -1/+20I don't even know WHAT to say to this comment.
It's just...where do you even start? - PCGUY112887, on 12/27/2008, -5/+23It's still in beta? You can get it from Microsoft's site. It runs fairly nice.
- cheezygrin, on 12/27/2008, -2/+19buried for making me scroll - linux or no linux, that is unacceptable.
- InfernoX, on 12/27/2008, -0/+17Alpha versions are different from the beta.

Nice one, boys. - dechah, on 12/27/2008, -1/+16The same way Apple were able to release OS X.1 Puma after the piece of junk that OS X.0 Cheetah was.
- Ocelot13, on 12/27/2008, -1/+15i used a beta of vista until the final build came out, i didnt have any problems.
- duccodude, on 12/27/2008, -0/+14If you just want to try it out, then just run it in a VM.
- chewbie, on 12/27/2008, -3/+174chan is not all about retardedness, only the /b/ section is of the fail-breed
- otros, on 12/28/2008, -0/+13Why would you remove OS X from a MBP, paying apple's premium and not just buy a similar specced laptop without an OS?
- sadisticmind, on 12/27/2008, -3/+16Have you tried it?
- thelastcivilian, on 12/27/2008, -1/+14Your mom. I'm seeding her as I type. She's certainly free, but I'm not sure if what I'm doing is "legal use."
- twiztidsinz, on 12/27/2008, -1/+14No. You saw the Alpha.
This is the Beta which has (from the article) "A number of previously hidden features - like the iconized task bar - are also now active." -
