- pstroll, on 06/27/2008, -5/+15Did a 6th grader put that together?
- JohnsonGotOwned, on 06/28/2008, -0/+9Bill got arrested? Never knew. That could've gone in the biography report I had to do in 5th grade.
- azurepalm, on 06/27/2008, -1/+10Smart and a very generous man. Congrats to Bill for his retirement.
- ar0ne, on 06/27/2008, -3/+12mmm pie
- phpchris, on 06/28/2008, -1/+7Top right of the timeline.
- FutureGuy, on 06/28/2008, -0/+6"Get banned from computer center for manipulating bugs to get free computing time block", so he was a hacker too. Also his father kicked nazi ass and he everyone elses. He was an awesome guy, I am sure his best days are ahead of him and there will be a lot more added to this timeline.
- irfanmp, on 06/28/2008, -1/+68 times? I counted only twice...maybe try Firefox?
- Myztry, on 06/28/2008, -1/+61985 - Commodore releases the first commercial 32bit pre-emptive multitasking GUI Operating System. Providing a template for domestic computing for the next quarter of a century. The Amiga had been planned by Jay Miner since the late 1970's but was unable to be realised until hardware matured to a capable level, and Commodore provided the financial resources...
Microsoft Windows didn't reach a comparable level until 1995. Microsoft (and Bill Gates) excel at business but suck at technology. - supermanly, on 06/28/2008, -0/+5Jesus Christ: right place, right time.
- GorfTron, on 06/28/2008, -0/+5After all the Bill Gates stuff lately, I am sure I know his timeline better than my own.
- Squigy, on 06/28/2008, -0/+4Geeez... I'm 25 and I'm far far behind... I'm just hoping that one day my son will kick a**
- inactive, on 06/28/2008, -5/+9You can't outline Bill Gates's life and ignore this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD7uZAU2gmU&feature ... - inactive, on 06/28/2008, -3/+7The timeline is fake. Bill Gates is a cyborg. His true parents was a cryogenic lab.
- lilcvbballfreak, on 06/28/2008, -3/+7"Vista released. World is like 'whatev'. SO true.
- inactive, on 06/28/2008, -0/+4Thanks for pointing out the fact that I'm an imbecile in front of everyone.
:weeps: - Pulledteeth, on 06/28/2008, -1/+5I think this timeline needs to be defragmented.
- jman583, on 06/28/2008, -0/+4Steve Jobs: right place, right time
George Washington: right place, right time - tehsaint, on 06/28/2008, -0/+4no, apparently you can't write a summary. at least, not an accurate one.
- phpchris, on 06/28/2008, -0/+3*hug*
- MavRevMatt, on 06/28/2008, -0/+2Sucks for you for putting it on Gizmodo then.
- cruik, on 06/28/2008, -2/+4but when did he sell his soul?
- antdude, on 06/28/2008, -0/+2Didn't Wired had a detailed timeline last month or so? I can't find it online. :(
- Protoss, on 06/28/2008, -0/+2The global business climate today is like...whatever dude!
- RSS14, on 06/28/2008, -2/+4A real Bill Gates time-line would never end, as his accomplishments will be remembered by humanity forever.
- cliffzdude, on 06/28/2008, -1/+3mmm ... floor pie
- redxii, on 06/28/2008, -0/+2Says he went to Lakeside School at 13.. current info on Lakeside School says grades 5 - 12, and at 13 he'd be 8th or 9th grade. 67 - 55 = 12.
- masfenix, on 06/28/2008, -4/+5Thankyou Gates. Thankyou for providing us with a OS that works! Granted it had its share of bugs and still do, but being a prop. software, updates are released fast. You've provided us with a GUI simplyfing things by ten fold. Your standard "File, Edit, View .." toolbar helped me master any software released. Your Win32 API has helped me give the world better programs in the VB 6 days. And now you have made it hell of a lot easier by giving us the .NET framework. Thankyou for IE. Granted IE 6 and below were bad, had ltos of bugs and security issues. But after the FF release the IE team have outdone themselves. Thankyou for providing us with IE 7. It has never crashed on me, never slowed my computer down, and never installed spyware.
You can now enjoy the rest of your life. I hope the rest of your life is very easy going, because you've made technology easy going for us.
PS, diggers here don't really like you. So I'll probably be dugg down. However most of these diggers will be using Windows, Office and other MS software. Don't pay any attention to them!
Once again, thankyou. - MavRevMatt, on 06/28/2008, -1/+2Direct link: http://gizmodo.com/assets/images/gizmodo/2008/06/B ...

- Netrilix, on 06/29/2008, -0/+1Yeah, I mean, how lucky was that guy, to be born the same year we started our new calendar system!
- getisboy, on 06/28/2008, -2/+3hmm if gates was born in 55 and went to school in 67...i doubt he was 13
- n0t0kayipr0mis3, on 06/28/2008, -2/+3Pirates of Silicon Valley pretty much sums up the latter half of the time-line in detail.
