Wanna go legit? Ubuntu. - h0ser, on 04/13/2008, -0/+3Build it yourself and you'll never have a problem. You can get the best deals from multiple places as well which will probably save ya abundle.
- protogenxl, on 04/14/2008, -0/+1If you want a Laptop with XP find a good Clevo or Compal reseller. My personal favorite is avadirect.

Although if you don't sell your old copy of XP/Vista, I am not sure how legal/illegal it is to use that. - aboyd, on 04/14/2008, -0/+1Under the assumption that this article is about to hit the front page, I think it'd be really useful if people who have purchased an XP laptop in the last few months could write about it here. Just why it's good and where I might be able to get it. This seems like the last moment for XP, and I really would like to get one last up-to-date laptop that can handle my NWN 2 & Witcher games.
I skipped Windows ME & 2000 -- I stuck with 98SE for quite a while and then went directly to XP. I believe I will be skipping Vista entirely, and trying whatever comes next (or maybe I'll have an affair with Linux on the side). So, seriously, I'm looking to digg up anyone who can reply with working links to good XP laptops. Thanks! - foxtrot3, on 04/14/2008, -0/+1Last time I looked Newegg.com still had a fairly good selection of XP computers, mostly Lenovo and Acer. (some HP)

- theWrkncacnter, on 04/13/2008, -1/+1I hope to god that by June 30, vista will have improved enough so that it no longer causes problems
- silverleaves, on 04/13/2008, -1/+1Any installation of XP is going to take a while to load. In fact any installation of any MS OS is going to take a while.
